There is a backstory... right now there is like a civil war between 'the network' (followers of the survivors from 1st game) and 'echo' group (former us government, lab scientists, militia) maybe later they add a 'side choise' who knows ...? last night i found a letter that reads 'lilly (ritter) for president ! (She's 'the network's leader)
Well yeah I'm pretty sure it's going to be hard for just normal people to make a cure for a unknown virus and it's going to be hard just to find the right things to get it and they cant mess up either
@@icare4less633 yea, especially because the cure is mainly made from plague hearts which would mean they would need to scavange or fight which would risk them being bit.
@@icare4less633 my comment was purely based on the game, real life is a completely different story. We can barely make a vaccine for the Corona do you think we're going to find a cure for the zombie apocalypse?
"One mans hero, is anothers' villain" More emotion packed in a 10 minute video than most 2+ hour movies, and not a single clip of a zombie. It really makes you think about how the lines of good/evil are blurred. Coaches group did a raid, to save their people, but yet lins were working on a proper cure. No evil plans of becoming the strongest, no idealization of control, they were just people trying to survive. That's the thing I like about zombie related movies/shows/media. it's about survival, you're either among the living, or you're one of the dead.
whats even more crazy is that both this game and the walking dead are showing, that when civilization takes a blow this big, theirs no rebuilding it. days turn into weeks, weeks turn into months, months turn into years, and after that, you've made peace with the fact that this is the new world. that's messed up.
I mean, not really though. There isn't much of a story.. it's just a survivor's story, not unlike that of the walking dead, z nation, and any zombie movie. If you think about it, state of decay is just the shell of a zombie themed movie or show. It would still need characters and story. Something which the game doesn't have. It's very similar to what they did with resident evil. The game starts and ends with a single story, but in order to do a movie about it, they had to make up a long running story which was honestly shit. I guess it would work as a miniseries tho. Barely hanging-Constantly attacked-human error which leads a horde to the base-hasty escape with heavy casualties-rough travels-found a new encampment. Something you can turn into a three or four long episodes.
ReallyUnexplainable yea but the game takes place years after the outbreak and it could have any story with countless of characters who’s names are already in it. With unique type of zombies such as Ferals or Screamers . With the only unrealistic part being fuel for cars.
@@DIOBrando-hy9dx Yeah but what separates it from the walking dead? Even if there are odd kinds of zombies, we have already seen the end result of the apocalypse. Unless they show the initial outbreak, then it will just look like z nation or the walking dead. I'd rather not have zombies, and get a post apocalyptic show where humans are in between the disaster, and forming a new society. Mad Max or Code Genesis style. I know there is a show like that, but I mean more like apocalyptic savage west.
ReallyUnexplainable then there was different trading missions and you just have to survive as long as you can. Just think of it as an already set story. Setting that, you don’t need to watch anything else because each group has a different story depending on what you do and what missions, or supplies and bases, or outposts.
Yea, now WHY the first group couldn’t just talk with the second, explain what was happening, maybe ally with them and get the help + reinforcements instead of raiding them and making an enemy? That’s the real question...
@@360lootgoon3 Maybe they did but the second might have refused, demanded too much, perhaps were on bad terms before the first group raided them, or maybe the second group might have threaten them by telling them that they only look after their own. We don’t know….but probably an attempt was made to ask for help
@@jhitchbeats8875 it's a pretty simple fix, snag a med and food Outpost first, this will lessen the need to worry about them for awhile, then hit the gas stations hard, collect cars as you go. Honestly I've ran dozens of communities and never once hurt for fuel, even in nightmare mode.
Day 121, the coronavirus is only getting worse. Schools, stores, sports, restaurants, even jobs are shutting down. If you find this video, I would like to tell you that it has been hell without toilet paper. Update: It is day 131, I have now have calluses on my butt due to running out of twigs and leaves in my area and have resorted to pop cans. If someone decides to travel back into this time, please give me the gift of the sweet delectable paper product that was created for the use of cleaning the buttox and rectum. I miss it too much, if I find a roll, I just might have to marry it. I also miss ramen, everyone has bought out the non- perishables at the grocery stores, THEY TOOK ALL OF MY BEANS!!!! 😭😭😭
Man I wish the actual game was like this. Its more of a "give us food or we don't like you anymore lol" than "our leader is dying and we need to raid the other important group for meds"
@@thecrusaderking4835 Games are supposed to portray the nuances of situation in real life to a better degree. I hope SoD3 gives us something to feel genuinely emotionally tied to the game. I'm in desperate want for an Xbox game that has a genuine great story-driven narrative even if it's not the main focus. A zombie game is the epitome of high stakes, fragile connections, erratic emotions and split second decisions. There's a lot that could be done to make it feel like something immersive instead of just another "Hey, they made another Left 4 Dead kinda game"
Yeah unfortunately it's either too easy for you to ever need to raid someone (which isn't even a thing,) or the map difficulty where stealing supplies would help also bumps up enemy humans to being too risky to fight in anything but long range and not have total destruction. There's not really any in between. The zombies are the major threat and even they aren't threatening once you play enough.
The trailer:"We need to raid them to get med." The game: "Give us suppiles now or I leave!! ","Stop hoarding suppiles and give it to us!!" Me playing a few day in a game:Can't you get it by yourself?!
@@Deditionsod 3 was said to rework the entire gameplay. Just like how big jump from the first game to the second game. It’s gonna be like that when this comes out. Water, drinks and food is said to work differently. You can get attack by enemy bases now, the amount of survivors is also going up from like 3 to like 6 or more or even less depending on the groups status. There adding new zombies new fighting. New skills and everything. Even the amount of different variety of survivors on this game so they don’t look the same after the first 10 ppl. There adding more races, different everything tbh.. like a whole new game
Obviously their situation isn't dire enough or their leaders are crap because they haven't figured out that they would be far better off together than separate.
@@munkandbear2818 That actually makes me wonder about the Legacy Characters, like what If they were once separate groups but then finally banded together against the apocalypse. All 50 instead of fighting actually got their heads on straight and that it isn't about who gets what or why but keeping each other alive and taking back their world.
@@ragilzarqoo8110 the act like they are going to give you the meds without fighting but as soon as you pick them up they attack you, you then have to kill them. If you choose violence fight they will still fight you but this time you get a chance to kill one first before they attack.
This honestly makes the game so much more relatable. I love SoD 2 and consistently play it to date. Absolutely love this. I love the emotions these actors brings out and help you realize that this universe is rough.. losing your first survivor.. well it definitely isn’t easy.
I will never forget the first survivor I lost in my first SOD2 play through. I was DEVASTATED as I had really grown to care for him and knew his whole life story (both what the writers had given and what I created for him). It’s up there with the twist in KOTOR on most shocking gaming moments for me.
I love the emotion put into this. You can tell when coach says “we’re the good guys” he was also trying to convince himself. He knows he stole meds and it was wrong, but to him he did it for all the right reasons so he could save a friend. He’s the bad guy in the eyes of the ones he stole from. But he’s trying to convince himself he did the right thing. I’d have done the same thing if this was real, I’d steal to save a family member or friend that’s apart of my group. It’s survival of the fittest if it ever comes down to this. I’ll gather what resources I can and put an end to trespassers or bandits who mean harm on my base.
I never saw this trailer before but after playing this game like seven times through now, it made me chuckle when she said "the plan is to ask politely for our meds" 😂
@@BlueBlur2003 and seeing as its on microsoft store and xbox most people got it from Xbox gamepass so they didn't even make much profit AND they're still updating
Maybe? But even playing on the hardest difficulty it’s super easy to just make the blood plague go away. If you’re surrounded by zombies and die then idk if that has anything to do with plague. I’d put it more on bad choices than BP killing you.
So in SOD2 what could be the Lore's difficulty? Nightmare or Lethal? Also, this reminded me that Survivors golroup that "Demanded" stuff cuz we were hoggin all of them, this trailer I imagine, is like a story between the survivor enclaves that struggle to be alive while we are taking care of the heart plagues 😂
I'd say dread difficulty for action, community and map seems almost close to the lore but for couch taking a long time to succumb to blood plague is like green and standard difficulty while in-game they say blood plague will turn u quick so close to nightmare and lethal difficulty
Honestly it’s sad most potentially true, people have already attacked other to take their supplies so how long till it gets more extreme? Sooner we won’t even be able to trust our own neighbors. What’s the world coming to?
I wish the actual game was as deep as these live action trailers. Sadly the actual game is so shallow and repetitive, I hate myself for liking it because it is the only game close enough to the zombie apocalypse community managing experience.
In the game if you learn how to, you can even restore a power generating plant or water processing one. It's useful to keep your base with lights and running water...
Wow. I've never seen this trailer. It makes you want to see how the special zombies looks, like the screamer, bloater, feral, juggernaut, and plague zombies.
HOLDA, That girl in the second trailer .. is she that girl in Z nation, the girl that 10k likes at the beginning and later gets bit by Murphy? That looks just like her!! Edit: I think her name is Sandra? I could be wrong
see i wish the game was this emotional with your group you make ingame, and i wish we could raid other peoples bases like online, have campaign and then pvp survival on a big map. I beyond love this game no doubt tho, 9/10
I mean you kinda can. Its a very small kinda, but when you are hostile towards a group you can steal their stuff if you kill them. But I get what your saying you never see any npc base with a thriving base that allows you to take their stuff.
@@HarambetheWhite nah, not right now at least, they can still do alot with the game, it's still pretty new imo, not new new but new enough where they can't make a third yet
Great game. Has moments where you really feel for your people, and cheer when they almost bit the big one but made it back to base with something good. Oh, but when they die...you're left thinking, was there something I could have done differently? Makes you question things like you were actually there. I pretty much rage quit after one of my main people died. I tried to save her (was even about to give her the cure) but she turned. I didn't even shoot her. I turned off the Xbox lol.
I rage quit a few times in this game the worst one I had my main guy, he was the leader, and I was gonna do his mission after i looted this house, but there were hostiles in there that didn't appear as hostile until it was too late and they got the head shot. I was so pissed I took my second best chick back to kill them all, which I did, but my girl was nearly dead, and as I was driving home just as I was feeling better after having gotten revenge, I ran straight over a bloater I didn't notice lying on the ground....She was dead before she could get out of the car. Didn't play for like 3 weeks after that 😂
State of decay is the only game that i got so attached with NPC's, even the worst skills and traits, i never decided to intentionally kill them off, losing an npc makes me upset. State of decay is just immersive as hell.
I lost a person I didn’t care about to a juggernaut first time I saw it’s kill animation even though it didn’t impact my community it still impacts me now it happened 2 weeks ago
This trailer is a billion times more entertainment than the game. The developers of this franchise don't create any character development, you don't give a damn when any of them dies.
You do give a damn, man... you upgrade your character you learn abilities, just to die saving your community 😰 some of us just can't forget our community leader's bloody death so easily...
He used to have a close group of friends. A gambler, a news reporter, and a mechanic. They travelled through a mall, a river tour, a carnival, a swamp, flooded town and new Orleans. Used to claim this used to be a nice neighborhood. Now, he just waits for his pills.
Whoa.. Holy crap that was emotional! I just started playing this game a few days ago and it is my new favorite zombie game besides Dying Light 2.. There is NO comparison between the two as they are completely different styles of games, but I' so happy with State OF Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition.. straight up gem now that its been fixed up and isn't a buggy mess..
I would like to see more of these live action trailer, helps to immerse you more into the game, makes it a bit more personal...Ilove this video you can see the pain /sadness and motivation that the character feels. I love this and love what Microsoft has The video industry has done with this game and this story for SOD2....WOULD LOVE TO SEE A ACTUAL LIVE ACTION MOVIE OF THIS ... tHIS VIDEO ACTUALLY MADE me cry.😭 There is something so powerful in this. if this what would have happened in our world now... We better be ready .... Great video ...The actors were Amazing...👩🏻 👍🏻 Love it !!! 👩🏻💖💖💖👍🏻
This game would make an amazing movie or show. Have the movie be like the game same maps and characters. Start it with three survivors running outta gas but update it a little have them start a convo then through out the movie it would be like the game. Have ur base attack meet new people and enemies. If they started at Trumbull valley they can even add more Like Mikey. Izzbee and With Lilly. Hell even the Curious lady that loves plants they can go more in depth and have the movie focus on Either the one of the main leaders.. show them building stuff in there base from the game. Have the recruit new people and kick out new people. Make it more emotional then game… it would attract a lot of fans. They can show off there skills to like after awhile the group we watch can have stealth skills, power house skills, Resourcefulness and etc. I would really love to see something like this
Took me this long to realize that both of the clips were related and that both were struggling but stole from each other because each had their own needs
You know what would be cool? If AI's can occupy player home bases and act like factions insteadof enclaves. They could either make alliances that actually centers around trading and maybe some other co-projects together like making water sources to be shared by everyone. The gameplay can boosted if they added a relationship progression with allies. Of course, there has to be an enemy faction and this is where the good stuff happens. Ambushes, traps, raids, and deaths... Gruesome deaths. They can even add more zombie variety.. For me, if they added all of that... the game would be 100x better than they are now.
