The thing I'd like to see most is deeper character development/story and more options to customize or even create your own bases. My hopes are pretty high for this game...though it sounds a LONG way off.

I realize it probably adds a layer of work beyond what their team may want to tackle, but I essentially want base assets that you can build pretty much in ANY location, building, or piece of terrain. There are so many buildings in the game you find that is a shame you can’t build in. Perhaps you “plant a flag” and everything around that point in a radius becomes buildable space both on the ground and vertically. It would be the “logic bubble” in which all the events, assets, NPCs, and zombies could be anchored to. Just my thoughts.

Don't use Chaina GX. They need to focus on the relationship and story more if they want this game to be consider a system seller because surviving for the sake of survival is only fun for a few hrs.

The only problem with choosing any base would be how it would generate and set up. Most bases need room for multiple buildings so being able to pick any one might br a bit much. Honestly I would be happy just to have like 15-20 bases on a map

The best thing about undead labs and the respect many have for them is the fact they are not greedy and they listen to their fan base , They improve the game for the love of it , But now Microsoft are involved and I can see micro soft pressing undead labs to have greedy mini transactions in sod 3

Too late, I’ve already built my entire life around State of Decay 3, i will wait as long as it takes, even if it’s years. I don’t care I’m so ready. Also I’ve been on my knees for state of decay to implement multiple player communities or multiplayer servers and to hear this is music to my ears. Thank you

1) ability to issue commands to a follower. "stay here" "be quiet" "meet me at this point" "bring this loot back to base" 2) ability to use your gun as a melee weapon, which will degrade it much faster 3) outposts should eventually run out of resources, forcing you to deal more with resource management. 4) more enclaves. running into them while looting the same location...they can share or fight you for the loot. when you radio the network for resources, you would have to race to grab it because other enclaves heard the radio call and want it also. 5) make actual bodies of water that you cant run or drive through. introduce boats to the game maybe? sorry for long post. i love the game and have many ideas.

I'm here for the role play, so any talk of a relationship system sounds awesome to me. I'd love for more opportunity to grow past just the one base. SOD2 has such a great thing going, and it's exciting to think how much better it could get. keep the things people love and expand from there

I want to make my own character as first with a role to choose and with that I can go look for other people. Maybe different running types and more voices. Got really annoying in SOD2. More weapon upgrades and customisables

@@Plexpara I actually have many hours in the sod2 and that's why I want an own character so bad. Not because most of the character models look shit or they're just about 5 char voices no its because I want the leader of the group to one that I can create and I decide whether he's a fighter or mechanik. And there are other players that would love to make a like characters from other shows like Negan or Rick from the walking dead. And you can't find that. The lvling system is crap as well. You found a survivor with low weapon skill and after 2h of playing he's the best shooter worldwide. They definitely have to change that.

Great video! I really want more flexibility with building maybe like Fallout 76 where we can pick and choose the type of walls, traps ect, especially since we're literally dealing with "materials" and as far as our home base; I'd really like to have more freedom to set up base anyhere, maybe we could expand the size of our base with influence or achievements and depending what's inside the base will give us perks, once again like setting up a center point like Fallout 76 but with the added perks that SOD brings like fuel tanks, towers, etc. The bigger we create the base, the more people we need to maintain/secure it. Small and larger Lots would simply depend on if the space is available to accommodate as we'll have a tool to plan and measure it out. My wild idea: almost every house has an infestation - based on the idea that familys didn't flea, they stayed home where they felt it was safe and still ended up turning. no need to put infestations on the map(maybe there's boss level infestations on the map) we just assume every house has one but not necessarily always with screamers, it would be a random mix that increases with passing days... with so many infestations the streets are alot less populated with zeds. ...but wait there's more... Once we clear out an infestation we set traps so zeds can't create another infestation in said house. The goal would be to set traps in as many houses as we could. but now that houses are being trapped and zeds can't create infestations the streets get more populated and more deadly... If we clear a house but don't trap it, a horde can find its way there...hordes entering houses creates infestations. The more houses we have trapped the surrounding areas get more deadlier as they make their way away from the trapped houses and into other areas. Sorry if this is off the wall or not making sense. It's just stuff I been thinking about, it may never happen but I can see it all so clearly🤣😅😭

If they bring in the same tile-based building that every other survival game has I'm not interested. Those bases never look good and frankly become eyeblights on the landscape. I much prefer the unique bases SoD2 has. I agree it'd be nice to be bale to add thing though. I could see the ability to upgrade your walls to stone, to be bale to add barb wire, traps etc. But I don't wanna be punching trees and hitting ricks to build a box like its ARK

One thing that made me nervous is when you brought up that the job listing looked like one for an MMO. I really, really hope State of Decay doesn't go in a battle royale or pvp-centric route. Multiplayer really just needs to be able to accommodate me and my friends all simultaneously playing on a map, upgrading a base, and doing missions together.

My main complaint with SOD2 is that I feel the game doesn't have a ton of personality. SOD1 had a ton of dark humor, survivors I cared for, and a decent progressive narrative. Maybe they could expand on involvement with Red Talon, maybe even creating safe zones and larger-scale communities?

the parkour system isn't like DL I think, the forest will be one of the biggest revamb with more obstacle and devs prolly want the character to actually able to traverse it(maybe skill related). instead of just driving a car through like SoD1 and 2. I do wish the bigger towns or Cities will have clutter to jump hoops through.

I'd like to see a more immersive community gameplay. You should be able to control multiple communities simultaneously on the same map. Each base should have real build options. I want the option to build a massive fortress with 20+ members. Conversely I could strategically break up everyone up into 5 different communities of like 5 followers each. I could choose for everyone to be spread out over the map to maximize range. There should be consequences for foraging and and conducting business on rival's land. We should should be able to use construction to modify nearly every aspect of our bases. If you can accumulate enough resources, you can build additions to your base, potentially expanding out in size. Maybe I want my Base to go partially underground or, maybe I want to a multi story building with a roof for a helicopter. The roof should also be utilized for extra defense with a patrol option. Maybe I want a tunnel system going from one of my bases to another base, or a tunnel running from an outpost to a base. I want the option to join forces with another NPC community, where I'll have the opportunity to gain popularity and rise within the base to become Mayor or General. I want to see more specialized missions that either gain or loose the respect of my community. You're forced to trade and work together with your network of bases. In order to thrive, you'll need to unify and grow. The more resources and power you accumulate, the more currency you generate. Deep pockets will allow you to build more and gain more influence. Which draws attention from people that want to take it from you. Maybe my community doesn't like to play by the rules and they just pillage and steal, taking down communities like the Vikings. Next I'd like to see a very in depth storyline that allows you to be a tyrant king or a democratic leader, with checks and balances. The goal of the game would be the same. Survive and thrive. Lastly, the graphics should be next Gen. So important that the graphics are realistic. Also, It wouldn't hurt to make it open source, so the game can be even further tailored by mods of the years

One major thing I'd like to see is more realistic damage to hostile enclaves as well as zombie spawns fro immersion. Lethal's damage and threat of the plague is so enticing, but having to load a full magazine into an enemy enclaves head for them to just get back up and one tap me, or looting an empty house and rotating the camera 360 degrees to see the house had 4 zombie spawns is so immerion breaking. I like the game to be difficult, like every trip survived is a small victory, but I also look for fairness and somewhat realism. Just my thought.

Never had that problem with the hostile enclaves tanking rounds…. However if for some reason the survivor has insane health traits (modded to have a base health of 500+), then they’ll take a whopping 3 mags to kill when they’re in their downed state. But that shouldn’t happen in vanilla, you should just be able to kill them in 1 or maybe 1 1/2 mags tops.

Dude there's no need to come into contact with hostile enclaves ever!! Get yourself some Zombait 💣 to throw at them, head back to a safe place and watch the hordes endlessly attack them until they are dead. It's wonderful. If you don't have any chance of getting Zombait, take a character with the Gunslinger trait (best trait to have) to the hostile location, stand back a great deal, switch your rifle to single shot, and use your aim snap to hit then in the head. Might take some time and fumbling around with nearby zombies but i found it to be the easiest way to deal with hostiles.

I would love much larger travel options,say for example I think moterbikes would be a cool addition as they are much more nimble and can fit in smaller areas. Also with the addition of animals ?? maybe could find and befriend dogs for hunting , livestock to keep as farm animals to become sustainable food sources and also horses ?? trainable and tamable ?

It would be cool to be able to drive all the vehicles one would realistically find laying around. Like the big rigs you see all beat up all over the place in SoD2, the tractors and farm equipment, tanks, military hardware etc.

@@hannahspanner7904 I'd also like the opportunity to clear blockages from roadways, and receive salvage from them as well. Even if they reappear occasionally, due to people getting into accidents, running out of gas, or being swarmed, it would be nice to have a clear roadway every once in awhile. :p On the flipside, it would also be nice to be able to set up roadblocks.

Just tidy up the map a bit and have the option to try and make it a bit more organised when u have been playing for a while to make it less awkward to travel and move about

I really hope they open up on base building. Like let us choose where we build more. Maybe multiple enclaves etc.. I really loved some of the bigger and smaller spaces but the amount of stuff we could build on sucked like. Seriously. It would be cool to build on places like offices and stuff maybe letting us place our own defences and stuff. Like I love this whole aspect of making and upgrading bases and stuff. Maybe let us build off buildings around the base. Instead of just one building maybe let us build like a walled in section of the cities. Also I am all for relationship stuff but I'm kinda a perv. Love having all female team just saying lol. But yeah I think it would be cool to have like bunker building and stuff like fallout kind of ordeal and maybe a little more customization on characters at least a main character or something. But yeah I fell in love with the first state of decay back in like 2010s or so and just fell in love so I was ecstatic when 2 came out just wasn't certain on price so waited a long time. Might not do that with this one. This is gonna be interesting. Gonna need an Xbox whatever now lol.

Some missions are too risky since it only allows players to bring 1 companion, especially dealing with the plague heart. It's supposed to be a community participating on destroying hearts. I hope they consider increasing the limit to 2. It will give more meaning to why building a community makes you stronger and not just having 10 more of them just idle at base. It will definitely encourage players to get out more for looting and deal with a horde with less casualties.

Start a follow quest while you already have a follower, if the person following you is important enough to the story they will be an absolute tank and basically impossible to kill. I started a follow quest with someone in trumbull valley and i saw them solo a blood jug while i hid on a crate assuming they were gonna die to the several hordes on top of the jug

I hope they had more things to do. SoD2 is very close to Wildlands (L4D flavour). Multiplayer (coop) need to be a focus. And the game is too short.

I always thought it was very limiting that you could only choose one AI controlled person to tag along with you if you're playing solo. I feel it should be up to 4. I also would like to see more ammo 4 guns & stronger bladed weapons that don't break as easily or make it a perk that characters can earn. I like the idea of zombie animals but I'd also like to see the ability to hunt & fish 4 regular animals too. I also disliked not being able to set up defenses around your base so zombies can't just run up on your place. I also didn't care for having to go do something for some npc way the hell on the other side of the map when my community needed resources more than helping them. Like once you find these people why can't you have them move in buildings closer to you to have more quicker way to help each other as part of your extended community?

Oh god there is nothing I fear more than State of Decay 3 being a giant map with thousands of players on it at once. I play the game for the community building and scavenging scarce resources. If you have a thousand people in a server, it will just turn into GTA online with zombies in it.

what id really like to see from multiplayer is for one no tethering. you and your friends can work together or split up and cover more ground and two have the option to switch off only being able to loot certain items in a building in a multiplayer session. the only QoL improvements i can think of would be more voice actors and better climbing mechanics. a map with a city setting like TWD season 1 would be badass too.

What you did not like the start to climb down the ladder, nope climbing back up, start back down again, nope climbing back up again, start climbing back down again, and finally at last reaching the bottom of the ladder. Of course by this time that horde that was down the road is now in front of the billboard you were descending and about to attack you when your feet are finally on dry ground. OR you move to descend down the ladder and just step over the ladder and fall breaking your legs and having barely any health left to carry on with. Was those two examples what you meant?

I think State of Decay as a series works really well with the option to engage in a story. The first game was great: the story is whatever you make it: it's about surviving, (or dying) and what that looks like. The second game had some nice features, like picking a path for your community by selecting a leader and following their style, and I thought the more story-based additions later were perfect: just enough story and narrative to scratch the itch without feeling too much like these aren't my characters anymore. I'm hoping for the third installment, they stick to that model: make a mode where you play to flesh out the story, but give the players the option to play without it as well. Best of both worlds.

My Bloody Thoughts exactly, I would love a Story mode and a Sandbox Mode. One where you can play multiple stories from different maps, and a Sandbox Mode where you can freely play on those maps and survive with your own custom characters or something.

Add an item in sod2 found an smart phone that lets you listen to music. Can only be charged in a working car and only if you manage to find the item charger cable. To listen to music while on foot you have to find another item headphones. Also each smartphone could have completly difrent tastes of music.

I have 1k hours in this game and from my experience it will be chaos if the devs let modders run wild in an open world with hundreds of players. In Sod2 you can't kill other players when going online and still griefers mod the game to kill you. If the devs let the modders run wild with their modded .50 cal bfg and spawn ferals at will there will be a load of angry players. Personally, i want SOD3 to be like a strategy survival game where you have to join forces with other people to defeat the zeds, i don't want the game to be a killing ground where you have to be constantly killing other players either to defend yourself or to get their resources.

I couldn't agree more.. I think multiplayer, if implemented with caution and limits, can be a good thing. But undead labs had better be careful to keep it enjoyable. Focus should be on defeating the zeds rather than fighting off other players

It needs to stay but they should REALLY… REALLY add cross play icons, you’ll know what someone will be up to if you see a PC icon by their name. Stay out of lobbies where the host is on PC if you wanna avoid anything bad happening to you, they’re harmless if they join you for the most part… as the most of stuff they use to spawn zombies in only work if they’re the host of the game, and the only thing they can do is probably run around and try to kill all your plague hearts or drop you modded weapons.

@@qualwinters8784 I prefer to not hope for much and instead wait to see what happens. Undead Labs listen to the players, but ultimately they will decide in the direction the game will go. Even if people wish this and that for sod3, the devs will not deliver what the fans want because everyone wants something different out of the game. Instead, the devs will build their own vision for sod3. There are a few things that i think fans and devs both want like a City map, weather, character customization, relationships and an improved multiplayer mode. Perhaps, at the release the game will not be as great as the hype it has been building for 2+ years, but Undead Labs will keep updating and adding items from the official wishlist to make the game more appealing to the fan base.

@@romanbellic9580 I agree that modding does wonders to the game, darkside lethal is my favorite difficulty in the game and i can only play it by modding the game! I have talk to people about this topic for a long time, and probably the best solution is to make slides. Where you can opt in and out of joining lobbies where modding is allowed. And i don't know about the play icons, sound like a good idea, but since the PC players are the only wants that can mod the game then the Xbox players will no longer are going to want to play with the PC players in fear they are griefers.

I'd love a map based on a zities, swaps, mountainous regions. More customisation towards the bases, even physical features for characters. Maybe Zeds that have similar traits to other zombies in other fictions like the Clicker? Mostly like a reference or cameo on a mission. Maybe more realism towards the look of the environment. Like if it rains, everything appears wet. Using the weather as an advantage, rainstorm make it harder to see further but does the same for the Zeds, lightning strikes to gain massive amount of energy for batteries if caught. Maybe a sentient Zed, which walks the areas of the map and if they see you unleash hordes at you, like an Instant Death Zone.

@@easyJat99 1st character of a save should be customizable, if they died you can’t get them back until you start a new save (switching maps won’t count if they still keep that mechanic) As for the sentient zombie, its spawning should be tied to some hidden “danger” meter that increases if you are killing plague hearts too fast (if they decide to keep it), if you have been making too much noise while looting, and the amount of infestations on the map. Yes it’s sorta a punishment for playing the game, but it’ll give people reasons to go back to their base and rest, and there’s probably a high likelihood chance of them adding a way to sleep through the day/night, in order to reset the “danger meter”. They could also add a “sleep schedule” mechanic, where survivors will naturally gain traits where they’ll be more active through the night but be less active through the day, and vice versa.

Well, food for thought Sunny. Permadeath (an SOD staple) and MMO, especially if there's PVP involved, could be a little dicey to implement. Hopefully it doesn't get to that point.

I feel like they could make it to where you can make a community and loot that map then you can go to the edges of the map to go to an open world area with whatever character you want and whatever character is following you. Also would love to see the ability to send a inactive survivor to go loot a place or get a car and bring it back to base like you could make a path and it would go on that path to a place loot it and take the best loot they can and follow the path back or make a path to a car then follow the path to take it back, maybe even making them able to take multiple inactive survivors in a car to a certain area to loot it and come back and store the loot at base. This pathfinding could also make survivors even more useful, and going out to loot could improve skills based on what they kill and how much they run and stuff like how you normally lvl up a character

It would be cool if they made the survival aspects more noticeable. Food and water levels of your character, that way having clean/running water and a small farm actually mattered to your overall health. It would also be cool to have inclement weather effect you, like getting cold or hot and too much of one or the other would have a negative impact on your player. Having things like the rain make it harder to hear and see. Have night time actually be dark, like near impossible to navigate without a light dark. A skill system to improve your characters stats like Strength, Stamina, Health, etc.

Some of the missions should have more info, cause I just done a mission to meet survivors and one of them wanted me to help their friend that was trapped somewhere. So I brought someone with me and as soon as I met the dude around 50-100+ zombies came running, killed me and it was so far I had to abandon the car, then I went back with someone else, picked the dude up and took him back to his team and all they wanted to do was offer me the place they were hiding or give me some gel stuff to sneak past zombies, wasn't worth it atall, I thought I'd be able to recruit them or something.

they can stick with a standard RNG map map for single player but players can go on expeditions to massive areas like cities where other players online can roam, that's what i want SOD3 to do like The Division's Darkzone areas I wish they could also increase the survivors in your camp that actually defend the base

One thing I don't see anyone mention is making sound a more noticeable issue with zombies. What I mean by that is your noise level depending on what you're doing might attract zombies in surrounding area. Also, having sightlines for zombies as well. If they see you from a certain distance they move towards you but if you disappear they'll just move to your last known location and then stop in that general vicinity.

What you mean you won't be able to crouch and push a flipped shopping cart down the street any more without alerting zombies to your presence? Well I certainly hope they make it where I no longer have to smash every door I encounter that is locked as well. It is rather infuriating that my character is too stupid to know how to remove his hand from a door handle. There may be a way to do that but in 3000 hours of gameplay I never found instructions for how to it. I really like stealth gameplay but I do hope to see it improved in the next sequel.

I'd like to see the online multiplayer map be an urban place where you can take a survivor from an active single player community - even add an AI assisted survivor - to and try to gather some harder-to-find resources, which may not be so commonplace in the Single player maps. Enters the map using a vehicle from their Single player game. Doesn't have to be a PvP thing, i think the game can work well on PvE alone - occasional human threats through a tough AI would be nice. If the player dies, other players could take resources, weapons etc from the dead survivor. All resources can be stored in a vehicle and player uses the vehicle to get out of the online map. Apart from needing a fuller city map, UL needs to drastically improve base building in Single Player. Ideal scenario would be customisation like Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 games. I hope they keep the clothing range varied and maintain the system of unlocking clothing items upon, finding them through gameplay.

I have a lot of things I'd like to see included in the next installment of SoD. But better outpost customization, more options, and the ability to upgrade electric and water stations would be nice. Also, would really like less use of invisible walls, and for them to stop spawning zombies in areas you just cleared. (A better campaign also. More story driven, though I don't much care for a linear approach)

It would be great if we could build a mad max 2 style base with a bus and all. more freedom to move around on a much bigger map and more of a simulation feel to it rather than the arcade feel it has. After all, it's the little things that make it satisfying.

If you can imagine a new game called Assassins Creed: Zombie Apocalypse, then I believe that we can see what State of Decay 3 could be. Assassin's Creed already has the mechanics for hunting, hiding in bushes, whistling, throwing bottles, choking out or killing human enemies from behind, silently killing human enemies with throwing knives via headshots, blending in, using the environment to kill enemies, climbing and parkour, enemy awareness, etc. Now, mix all of this with State of Decay's zombie threat and survival management, then you have an awesome game. Imagine being able to use zombie guts or a specific item to blend in with zombies in order to infiltrate an enemy base. Imagine how this tactic would be ineffective when it rains because the rain would wash it off. Imagine being able to steal an enemies uniform, sneaking in their base, and activating an alarm or opening the main gate, then using zombie guts to walk through the horde and escape. Imagine being able to stealth kill ferals or instakill juggernauts. Imagine being able to throw zombait into an enemy base and using zombie hordes and freaks as a weapon or a distraction. Imagine being able to assassinate human enemies and silently killing them with a headshot via crossbow. This is only a glimpse of what State of Decay 3 could be.

I really love to watch the parkour movements in 3rd person survive the chasing of zombies horde! Dying light almost got my intention except I can't play 3rd person and I can't build or crafting the zombie killer machine! I just want to do something crazy and clever in the game

Make it so we can do more stuff with the community system. I want to create outpost and station survivors there to keep it safe and stop it from getting over run by zombies. I don't want my outposts to just be empty safe houses. I like the whole safe house system, but don't call a safe house an outpost. To me an outpost is a place where people are station to keep watch over a certain area.

If animals are included as Zombies its pretty new to me. Since I only know few to none movies or games that ever considered Zombie animals. Which makes it really interesting to me. But I am pretty much sold already because its State of Decay, the games at least until now was always pretty fun.

Have you played 7DaysToDie yet? Made by an indie studio of maybe 2 or 5 people, they already know how to program their wild animals to become infected from zombies, and nothing spoils a hunt like a bear you've been tracking getting infected and turning into a zombie bear and wrecking your career. Honestly, I love the tension that scenario causes. Speaking of wrecking careers; do not go the H1Z1 route with SoD3. Have you seen Project Zomboid yet? They're adding wildlife and NPCs soon, and I'm sure they know how to flip an "if" switch and swap out a model and animation set. They do the multiplayer but with player-hosted servers, thing.

State of decay 3 is something I'm looking forward to. My wish for state of decay 3 is more types of zombies. In state of decay 2, fighting the same zombies over and over made things relatively easy to learn what they do and how to fight back. If they added zombies who can only walk, some who can only run, and some who can only jog, it would make it more interesting, but that's my take. I can't wait for the game!

Undead Labs needs to focus more on a slow campaign. Idc for a storyline personally but I want just purely survival also base building is a huge thing players want because even when players finish the storyline they want to keep playing and building their base and recruiting new members. I hate losing majority of my stuff because I moved locations.

What I want for the next game is more complex bases with more flexible and in depth base building, more in depth weapon crafting and customization, wanna be able to craft and attach larger mags and sights for guns and crossbows that improve ammo capacity and accuracy. Vehicle customization, both cosmetic and functional, tired of having to roll the dice on what paintjob I get when upgrading, separate upgrade slots for things like engine power, toughness, armor, fuel capacity, addable lights you can put on upgraded vehicles, separately upgradable storage capacity for vehicles. Other than all that, Im quite happy.

We need Fallout 4/76 options, but with resident evil 5 mechanics. Such as standing at certain edges to jump certain obstacles, knock over traps,stuff like that. maybe adding a few prone/rolling mechanics.

I was addicted to the original SOD. Back when you needed mods just to carry more than one supply bag in vehicles. I was also a beta tester for Lifeline. We campaigned to get our nicks put in the credits but MS didn't approve. Would have been pretty cool.

I think as long as they keep the whole parkour thing to the healthy and capable character then cool but if we have older survivors jumping from one building to the next, it takes away from the fear factor. Wildlife in the game us a plus, seeing how they added customization options with the closet in SoD2, maybe they should consider allowing us to create or completely customize our survivors. Vehicle upgrades was a huge plus forn2 except more options would have been more interesting, whether it be for speed, armor or attack like the flamethrower on the independence day pack. Weapon customization would be interesting and more story options too. Heartland brought back the story component which keeps the game interesting. SoD had lifeline, breakdown and the main story. Breakdown had infinite replayability similar to what we have now (except the same couple of maps and bases get old and boring). Multi-player is always a huge plus in my book when it comes to survival games and community building. You can always have other players come and help you out.

Do you know if SOD2 will add new character faces. I have multiple characters in my legacy pool that have the same face. I know that different outfits help but I don’t think it’s enough. I think that at least 5 different faces for both males and females would help. Also adding beards to some male faces would make the game better and more realistic for an apocalíptico world. I have mentioned this to the developers but never had a response. I think they would listen to you if you brought it up.
