Thanks Halligan! Your Southbend vids saved my a$$. I hope you get more stuff out, but it sounds like you have your family first, which is where it should be. Kudos to you!. Take your time and do what videos are important to you. We will be here. I look forward to the schematics readings and any machining. Hope to see you soon.
Right on bud, I'm looking forward to the content... I hear you on the burn out, been going thru something similar and I too struggle with the time spent on the channel and the lack of time spent with the family!
Watched your videos when i first got in machining for fun.. Came back to see how's going. Saw the trail off in the videos. Definitely interested the hvac as well. Have friends in that field of work. So i know i can learn from that. Hope get a strong return on videos. Best of luck man.
I get that a regular schedule keeps more eyes in your audience, but I'd rather have videos when you actually feel like making one if that's what it takes to keep you from permanently burning out. Honestly, 3-4 videos a month is pretty ambitious when the time it takes to do them is often at the expense of your family time. Just my opinion, but don't feel obligated to keep that schedule if it starts damaging your peace of mind. Your content is good, you'll have viewers regardless of how often you find the time.
I'm a night owl so I do all my editing when everyone else is asleep. My theory is a LOT of the views come from recommended videos and RU-vid seems to reward consistent posting. It's a goal to work towards. We will see how it goes.
Subbed for your machining content. The HVAC stuff isn't so interesting to me, but I'm still here and delighted to know that there might be more machining content in the works!
I subbed years ago for the machining content. As a mechanic and HVAC tech I also enjoy those vids. I know making them can bee a big pain. I keep threatening to make more
Thanks Halligan! If the editing is a problem, there are ways to do multiple cameras in DaVinci Resolve. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZzPZe36RdkU.html Some ppl take the route of using the camera performance as a background to recording the voice over. Like stage two of the edit. I hope you can find a balance. In any case you do what makes your life fun, not ours. It takes a team for these things, and when you are the entire team, it is very hard to maintain the workload of getting content done. Thanks Again!!
I subbed for the machine work videos, but I find the HVAC videos interesting as well. Perhaps if you spend some time thinking up clever video titles you'll get more views. Every successful channel does it. As long as the video is entertaining or informative, I don't hold it against the channel creator if they use click bait titles and screen shots that are only partially related to the video's content.
Yes I'm going to try that and see what happens. Checking the analytics it seems a majority of the views come from the recommended page so better titles is a must.
I came for the machining videos and stayed because of the intersting content. While the hvac vids are not necessarily my thing I do watch and understand. I've got a background in both worlds. I went to a vocational HS (the one in Wklefield) and worked in the hvac field as an assistant to my father and in an hvac supply house in Charlestown. Family first. Do videos when you have the time and drive. We'll be here.
