@@goldenferrari7785 He avoided all criminal prosecution, and it took several years to fire him, during which time he kept collecting his salary. None of the other cops who stood around chatting and joking as Eric Garner lay dying on the sidewalk faced any punishment at all.
these videos are absolutely amazing. kinda gives me chills looking @ those projects and hearing tracks from "Supreme Clientele" pop up into my head. do south BK's Red Hook projects next. they were the most legendary projects outside of Queensbridge or Edenwald when I was growing up (in the '90's) - when I think of NYCHA, I think of these 3 projects. thanks for the amazing work - this is what YT is really all about.
What a coincidence, yesterday I was checking out Staten Island clips, never been there, and then I'm checking your videos and see that you're just driving through Staten Island. Very interesting as always!
Very interesting watching this video as I’m from a small village in uk just outside London and have heard of the streets you were driving around from the wu tang clang songs, brilliant video my friend keep it up
I lived in 75 hill street from 1966-1972 and went to Immaculate Conception played baseball football and bowling with the Stapleton Athletic Club and was very sad to move
Lived the first seven years of my life at 41 park hill lane. My memories were so clear at such a young age. A generation where their were so many kids outside. A far cry from today
I’ve noticed that where I live too. I’m pretty young but I still remember playing outside as a kid, with a bunch of other kids always out and about. nowadays you never see kids out; I’m hoping by the time I have my own, society will go back to being normal and sociable again…
It’s like a maze. If places like this existed where I live in Australia, for our indigenous people, the insides of the apartments would be empty & they would all be sleeping in the courtyards under the stars, many do not like the confinement’s four walls provide, like the rest of society.
What software did you use to render your gopro video. I was on your Island on Sunday. I am from Harlem. In Harlem we have at least 20 housing projects that are huge.
Great video. Definitely should have drove through Jersey Street, arguably Staten Island most dangerous strip. Take a trip down targee street by Vanderbilt ave. Also Castleton Ave and Broadway. Mariners harbor South ave and Grandview ave, Roxbury street and Brabant. Also holland ave in Arlington area. Port Richmond ave in the port Richmond neighborhood too.
@Pretty Woman - that's just my theory...at least when people are on the trains.. check out lines, I was born in SI, lived in different states...I made the mistake of standing too close to a person in the checkout line while he was paying...I got a friendly reminder if you know what I mean.
@Pretty Woman - it was a one time incident, I'm very conscious of space....when in lines, keep my eyes turned away from the person paying etc... I don't want to give them the wrong impression. I'm a truck driver, I notice that people have different personalities and character state to state. Similar to the military.
Most parts of Staten Island are not like this but where forest ave is! It splits Staten Island horizontally. The top of forest ave is the low income hood areas while the bottom part is the rich and mid class areas. I am lucky to be able to afford below forest ave property’s because they are much more expensive then the top half. My house costed half a million dollars when I purchased it ands it’s only 1800sqft but the area is amazing and everything is so close. I would never live in the top part of Staten Island unless that’s all you can afford
Northeast hoods have that unique feel.new York New Jersey and Philadelphia have that raw vibe that a buck 50 across the face vibe. Jersey and New York have mad no joke hoods that are raw ..
Not really staten is way more compact Michigan is more spread out the houses are a different style we have more town house projects some of the streets he was on like by that pharmacy looked a little similar to being on Woodward and Davison in the D but most of our cities aren't that built up
I spent a lot of time in these projects with Twin,Ghostface,Lil Dave,Girl Suga,Pop da brown hornet,Bird,Horse,Beanie,Maniac.. GP Wu.. love them dudes!!💯☝️💚
You should go to camden New Jersey. When I was visiting jersey my sister needed to go their rq and when I tell you that place is hood its hood🤦🏽♀️ boarded houses, junkies on the side of the road, police yellow taping, kids on the streets selling stuff to make quick money, abandoned houses vandalized or being used as hide outs. Man go to that place its crazy
Nice stroll with the camera. Good clean angles. I used to live in Port Richmond. Heberton Ave. I did home inspections in Stapleton, park Hill, etc. Rough hoods.
@SlapS The Michigan Catastrophic Claims Fund has over $20 billion in it and only pays out a small fraction every year. Michigan drivers are forced to pay into this fund through insurance premiums. There is money but it's been mismanaged. Don't believe any government that tells you they're broke.
@@RADIUMGLASS far from a kid buddy. I've been to Detroit Michigan before and New York streets are way worse. You just looking at 1 Borough in the whole New York. You have to actually had been there to know what you're talkin about.
@@enosger y’all hoods is a damn play ground bruh come check out the hoods in Detroit, south la, Boston, and south Bronx. Oh my don’t even check out south Bronx
Yo it's crazy. I only live like 15 mins away from SI but I never been there, and I ain't never seen so many cars backed into parking spots as around 4:30 . In Jerz, you see a few cars backed in every once in a while, but most are parked head-in or parallel.
@@JGJGAGSG hahaha exactly, I just walked and walked and walked, the same un NYC. I saw a couple of old American houses, businesses,,, I like it, I enjoyed.
Lived in staten Island for sum time im frm bklyn SI wasn't welcoming at all when I moved there but ik alot of nixxaz today real rights the harbor jersey street Stapleton Parkhill berry homes wurd shout out to staten island and all the real soid nixxaz ik!....
i remember a interview with poppa wu , he said stapleton and park hill use to actually beef! he i think he said Ghost and them would ride down targgy ave?? go through park hiill and start shooting and rae and them would do vice versa. he said it was RZA who brought the two hoods to the table and made the group after going to BK and recruiting Old DIrty to be like the equalizer in the room.
It's only like thar around the buildings there is no where else on Staten island that it's required to back in they do that around every project building on the island or ther wud be absolutely no where to park
Staten Island in the 70’s was beautiful. My mom wouytake is every weekend and there was so much to do. We’d get on the bus all the way to tottenville so now seeing this it’s sad. How I wanted to move there now I’m not sure about visiting
Everybody in the Midwest to Eastcoast to some parts of down south has this weather lol where the fuck are you from? JAMAICA or something? Lol this is normal in those regions
DNutty26 why are you pressed my guy😂 it don’t matter where I’m from because any state I mention you will try to talk bad about it because what I said about yours lol
Yeah I was thinking that looks like the Heygate but London’s estates/projects seem worse. Actually all the U.K. projects look worse luckily not as dangerous
Middle and lower Staten Island is pretty quiet and rich in nature, but there isn't a whole lot to do. Historic Richmond Town is good to kill a couple of hours in, but we have an average mall and a food culture that's unremarkable. That aside, it's affordable compared to the rest of the NYC area if you don't mind spending extra time on a commute, and an added bonus of being mostly sparse and open so it's one of the best options for someone introverted working in New York. Oh yea, you'll need a car because public transit is lacking here. Good thing there's plenty of parking. You'll also probably have more access to New Jersey from this point on.
I seen that foo ghostface right there na me. Im from L.A been to n.y once but dint see staten island looks so different from anything i ever seen. Any recommendations for my trip things to do in staten island
Cash it in and get $10 back, the fat Lp with cappuccino on the wax, I'm Staten Islands best son, fuck what ya heard, niggaz still talking that shit is absurd
Moved into 260 park hill in 1968 before they finished paving the road to 280 park hill . And went to junior high P.S. 49 the school he passes by . Back then if forgot my keys and no one was home ,I could climb the fire escape and get in from my parents room . Very bad idea to try that today .
@Long live Old Europe Jersey Street, Park Hill, The Harbor, and Stapleton are pretty dangerous. A few years ago they were getting a lot better but crime is at all time highs there
It started on Jersey st then to Stapleton project then ending in Parkhill projects. I was raised in Stapleton went to ps14 then 49 then to Curtis Good old days.
Love this channel. btw, why is no one walking in the streets? was this early in the morning or that's just how it is in this place? Also, for the people saying this place looks bad, I'm guessing that you haven't seen much of the world! Everything is relative tho, so I get it.
Ashraf Nazih this is probably in the morning but after rush hour, usually there is a lot more traffic and people walking. The summer time too at night it’s busy
Tee Zee He died of a heart attack. Had he just complied and gone down to the station, he may still be alive today. He stressed himself out and his heart gave out due to being heavy and in his 40s.
• Eric Garner made a conscious decision to raise his 32nd arrest from a misdemeanor into a challenge of society’s right to enforce our laws. Garner consciously resisted arrest in the face of overwhelming odds and his heart and asthma conditions. • Garner was not employed. He supported his wife & six kids by leading his life as a career criminal. • GotNews has uncovered a connection between Garner and a smuggling operation run by organized crime. That's more than a loosie folks. • Eric Garner was arrested numerous times for selling "loosies" which are cigarettes taken from a pack and sold separately without the tax stamp. (unlicensed cigarettes) • Eric Garner was known to sell narcotics (cigarettes included ) that were laced with other drugs even to minors. How would you feel if your kid wasn't old enough to buy cigarettes in a store, but was able to easily buy them from people like Eric Garner? • Eric Garner was arrested for marijuana possession • Eric Garner was arrested for driving without a license • Eric Garner was arrested for false impersonation's • Eric Garner was out on bail at the time of his death • Eric Garner suffered from BRONCHIAL ASTHMA, HEART DISEASE, OBESITY, HYPERTENSION, AND CARDIO-VASCULAR DISEASE • Eric Garner was 6ft 3 inches tall and weighed 350 pounds • The police told Eric Garner that he was under arrest • The police gave Eric Garner over 15 minutes to comply with his arrest (not like the you tube video which is CUT and EDITED) • Eric Garner REFUSED TO BE ARRESTED, you hear officer say you need to come in & he says no!! Not today. • HE RESISTED BEING ARRESTED because he felt the police were harassing him and HE felt that he had done nothing wrong. • The Police again told Eric Garner over and over to place his hands behind his back and comply • Eric Garner REFUSED • Eric Garner was taken down and handcuffed • In taking down the 6 ft 3 in 350 pound Garner, Officer Daniel Pantaleo used an around the neck maneuver many call a choke hold, which has been banned by police procedure. It is NOT AGAINST the law, but AGAINST police procedure. (Same as if you break your jobs company policy. Can't be prosecuted for breaking your works rules since it's not against law) • Officer Pantaleo is stripped of his gun and his shield for acting against police procedure. • Officer Pantaleo and the other arresting officers had no knowledge of Mr. Garners prior health conditions when making the arrest. • During the arrest Eric Garner is heard crying out "I CAN'T BREATH, I CAN'T BREATH" numerous times. Somebody has yet to explain how a man who "is being choked" can be heard saying "I can't breathe " from 10 feet away through a small unprofessional phone recording. He had to have enough volume to be heard and if he was being choked his passageway would have been restricted. Another clear reference that it was not a "choke" hold but rather a take down technique as NYPD leaders have pointed out. • Eric Garner WAS ABLE TO breathe because he was able to speak. • Police officers of all races can agree many criminals often say I can't breathe along with other excuses to get out of being arrested • Eric Garner was alive and breathing when EMS arrived • EMS took the pulse of Eric Garner and he had a pulse and was breathing. • CPR IS NEVER ADMINISTERED WHEN A PERSON'S HEART IS BEATING AND THE PERSON IS BREATHING. So stop saying everyone just stood there & did nothing. There wasn't any action that could of been taken medically at that time. • Eric Garner is picked up and placed on a stretcher STILL ALIVE AND BREATHING and placed into the ambulance. Choke-holds kill or render people unconscious immediately. Choke-holds don’t kill people an hour later. Garner’s hyoid and windpipe were intact. Garner did not die from a choke-hold. Science does come into play. • Eric Garner dies in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. • AN AFRICAN AMERICAN SERGEANT, KIZZY ADONI WAS AT THE SCENE THE ENTIRE TIME AND WAS IN CHARGE OF THE ARREST. • Sergeant Kizzy OK's THE ARREST TO BE MADE ON ERIC GARNER. • THIS CANNOT BE RULED A RACIAL CRIME IF A BLACK SERGEANT WAS IN CHARGE OF THE ARREST & if chief of department Phillip banks was one of the investigators who lead the focus on untaxed cigarettes in Tompkinsville that ultimately led to death of Eric Garner. • "Racism” cannot be proved here because it does not exist. The cop’s bosses, the precinct commander and supervising female sergeant are BLACK. The cops were responding to their orders and a complaint about Garner from a minority shop owner. Garner’s own daughter said this was not about race. • The coroner ruled death by homicide which actually means 'The killing of one human being by another human being' • Officer Pantaleo is NOT indicted. • Eric Garner had 31 previous arrests. Clearly he was taken in without incident before. If he didn't resist he would have been taken into custody without incident like the previous 31 times.
Staten Island weird, cuz Stapleton, St George, and Clifton be the hood, but after you cross Dongan Hills and go closer South, they got some Nice ass houses and be the burbs.
