Great effort prof thank you so much for this wonderful explanation that made this type of problems I have one question if you don't mind, aren't we supposed to multiply 500 by 9.81 to get the values of Ac and Ab...?
Great question. You are not supposed to in this problem because the units are lbs which is already a force. If the weight was 500kg (a mass) then yes you would have to multiply by 9.81 to make it a newtons (a force). Hope this explanation helps

It is a very clear and very understanding process Especially for me as a beginner. :) (many times that tutor has skipped 2,3 or 4 steps and not shown the process since he or she may think that we all should be automatically knowing some processing.
