Today, I was about to go to my statics class and I'm nervous as heck. Every time that I go to this particular class, I feel like everybody is going to devour me. To tell you honestly, I am not a straight A student. I'm below C and all of my classmates were A+ people. My teacher is expecting all of us to at least understand his processes and somehow catch a glimpse of what he is trying to convey but a lot of us, under Cs, are struggling to make the connection. Perhaps, the intimidation is just there. I don't even have to be in the class to feel intimidated but his teaching style were based off of high expectations, fear, and intimidation. Today, I watched this video to quickly understand our next topic which is, of course trusses, frames, and machines, and it just felt like a safe place for me to develop my solving skills bc im not really good at those, the way he said, "don't be afraid" is like an assurance to me that I won't be left behind anymore, and I never got that feeling in a while. Perhaps, the fear was already placed since the beginning of the year and today, it just vanished. All because a guy that i dont even know said "don't be afraid", "i got you"... Im crying rn. *YOU EARNED MY SUBSCRIPTION, GOOD SIR!*

Just do your studies in a consistent manner. Everyone has a different learning curve but damn! This fine gentleman really sets that curve to a point where everyone can reach it.

I completely understand where you are coming from and I know the feeling. I used to be one of his students for this subject, sadly I did not make it through the first time due to my lack of encouragement to myself. This professor is amazing at what he does not only with statics but with other engineering materials he teaches in his channel ! I wish you amazing success in your career I know you will make it to places you would never imagine, anything you set your mind to you will achieve it, my man!

@@martinpartida7035 You know? I am pondering about your comment. It's really weird that complete strangers on the internet have this casual, inspiring exchange. For you to say that I can be successful by just reading a very tiny part of my story, blows my mind. Thank you, kind, internet stranger. Someday, I will share this little part of interaction to a lot of people, and intend to inspire them as well. I will continue this ripple of good thing.

Please continue to work hard and do many problems in these technical classes. Please do not worry about these so called A students. The teacher is the best tutor for all college courses. Please ask your teacher for help during his/her office hours.

I'm learning more from your videos than from going to lecture 5 day's a week. My professor speeds through all the lectures and fails to thoroughly explain the tips and tricks to solving these problems. Thank your for your super helpful videos!

I'm 5 seconds into the video and you have already written more on the board than my professor has through half a semester. You might just save my grade as long as my professor stops trying to fail me

When calculating the loads on the trusses, should they be calculated as KN or N, or is it permissible to calculate them with both?!

Nice video sir, I have some questions going on in my head. First is truss must be connected with pin support but in the real application like a bridge or roof, the joint connected almost rigid with numerous bolts or welding. Is it still considered as a truss when the connection using numerous bolts with a gusset plate or welding connection? Second, the load must be placed at the joint. So, how about a roof when in case the load is applied to the truss member directly unlike a bridge that can use a diaphragm to transfer load from the road to the joint? The third is, Is it okay to not cut the member as the joint module length? For example, I have 3 meters length bottom chord module in the drawing (the joint is on every 3 meters), but for saving working time can I use 6 meters module instead? (the joint is still on every 3 meters)

but in steel structure some times the truss are welded joints, so in that case how it remains pinned??
