2 years old and it's still valid. Thank you. I love this game but that furnace gives me fits. I''ve had it do nothing, then explode. Then maybe half work, then explode. :)
If you already have the right amount of volatiles on your mining belt you can click and drag them off your mining belt to the furnace holding the alt key. That way they won't melt.
Did you ever figure out how to split them? You should be able to hold alt, click the ore and bring up a menu window on the left side, where your other menu's are. You can split to a single ore, or a half stack.
