This is why open-source learning is statistically significant better than lessons that we get from Universities. You actually manage to explain it in a way that it helps people, rather than showing off that you know what it's all about. Thank you very much!
After your lectures i always feel that the books we have been studying or the professors we have been paying in millions at universities, perhaps conspired not to let us really understand the concepts, leaving things confusing and mixed up in our heads. You should write a book. It will be a favor to a Mankind. You are a Magician!
Exactly, the importance of these videos relies in that they show students all over the world that it’s not their fault that they don’t understand but teachers’ . Every student I know learns more by watching yt videos than they do in school or uni. And this should be a BIG wake up call for the teaching establishment which has not yet seem to have noticed this, which goes to show once again how obsolete or lazy they are.
My students say the same thing. They watch my videos which I posted online and complain that my inclass lectures are useless and they learn only by watching the “youtube videos” afterwards.
I am a student at Jackson State University working on my doctorate and was completely lost when introduced to ANOVA.....but thanks to you Brandon....I can teach the class now.....you have wonderful videos......please please please keep making videos. God Bless you!!!
Hello! Oh thank you so much. :) I am all with you on needing concrete examples. Right now I am working on the One-Way ANOVA video but you are correct, the more complex the topic the longer and more difficult the instructional design becomes. And thank YOU for inspiring me to do these videos. I know some people need a different way of seeing this stuff, so I just try to offfer a new set of glasses. :P All the best! - B
I just wanted to say that your encouraging messages at the beginning of each video melt my heart each time! I wish I knew your channel during my studies!!
These visuals are extremely helpful and give the student a completely different take on ANOVA than many other teaching resources. Very helpful--very grateful
i agree. I am 56 and long out of college, back in grad school now and in a 500 level stats class and DYING a slow and painful one. Brandon's supportive words and clear explanations are going to save me. Thank you!
Fellow educator here. Just gotta say - the opening line of this video is SO NEEDED, particularly in STEAM, particularly nowadays. Really pleasantly surprised to hear such encouraging words. Thanks Brandon, for all your work!
I've been putting off studying for my statistics exam tomorrow because my class is entirely self directed learning and I can't teach myself something I don't know. With these videos though I am actually learning something for the first time this semester! THANK YOU!!!
Brandon, I am preparing for the oral defense of my PhD dissertation and needed to brush up on a few areas of statistics...so glad I found your video's. Very well done, straight forward and covers all the important points. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge!!
I started watching your videos while working on my bachelors. I had such poor math skills and was so intimidated by stats. But I knew I couldn't continue in my studies without learning stats. It stressed me out so much. Your videos saved me. Some days I really needed that pep talk at the start of your videos. I'm now working on my PhD right now. I honestly don't know if I could have gotten here without your videos. Just a huge thank you. 🤝
This is my second time taking Psychology Statistics at my college. I have been so frustrated because I just don't understand what is going on. The quarter is almost over and I have been terrified that I am going to have to take this course again, and go through all the frustration and struggles again. I just found this video and I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos. They are easy to understand and take the stress out of statistics. They are truly a life saver.
Hi, I'm a MSc student in University of Helsinki! Wanted to thank you not only for the statistics lessons but also for the tips before and after the videos! Stay positive and keep your head up! ;-)
The amount of positive vibe this guys gives you at the start of the video is absolutely amazing. I feel like all the strenuous task have been halved for me already. Thank you Mr Foltz for the super-duper work.
Wow, I was bored and looking for refreshers on the basics. I am so glad I found this video and your series, Brandon. What an effective teaching style of complex yet seemingly infinitely valuable and applicable concepts. Keep up the excellent work!
I truly admire when someone actually wants to teach people and enjoys it. I always notice the effort when this person wants others to understand. Amazing, you are one of them and the whole world can benefit! I have a great feeling after seeing this video, took a lot of notes, thank you man!
Brandon this is the best explanation of ANOVA ever. I have an exam tomorrow and I can't thank you enough for what you have helped me learn! You are awesaome! thank you !!
Almost started crying listening to the beginning of this video. Even 8 years after you posted it. Thank you. I can't describe how much I needed that intro pep talk.
Thank you for posting this! I'm just a sophomore in high school, buzzing along in Science Research doing plant stuff, and I didn't really understand ANOVA until I watched this! The intro too, it's so inspirational, especially for a struggling Science Research student! :) Thank you!
That little motivational speech at the beginning is just what I needed. I was seriously starting to lose hope that I'd ever learn this, but that little blurb at the beginning, however cliche, kept me from giving up hope, And you followed that up with a perfectly clear and concise video that answered all my questions. Thank you so much for what you're doing.
Thank you so much for posting these tutorials. They are so clear and concise, and actually make studying for my biostatistics class much less painful! You are doing students everywhere a great service!
You are the best in explaining statistical concepts so clearly. It is clear even to the people who are not from statistical back ground.....Good job!!! Keep uploading sir....
Currently in college and everything gets remembered for the test, then poof, and it's gone. Thank you for making these visuals as it will actually help me (and others I'm assuming) retain the material!!
Clear & concise....Since it is visually communicated, its easily understood...Thank you very much!!!! Extremely helpful...A definite hats off to you...........
WOW - I haven't even watched the video yet but what a powerful introduction you have that you are concerned for your student's well-being and instilling confidence in them to do better. You are a wonderful educator and person for being so thoughtful to include that in your video.
By far, this is the simple, best, illustrative with easy to relate examples and understandable content I came across in you tube regarding statistics topics. Thank you very much Mr.Brandon Foltz👍👏👏👏
I'm gearing up to take my comprehensive graduate exams soon. I took research methods in 2014, and this is a great refresher and even new learning of the material! Thank you!
i dont mean to be so offtopic but does someone know a way to log back into an instagram account? I stupidly lost my login password. I love any tips you can offer me
Tank you. Design of experiments is the last course before I can start my research for my masters. And the Textbook is horrific. Only from your video do I finally understand!!
I don't know how to thank you. I have been ill and didn't go to lectures and classes in few week now, and was falling behind, so now during the christmas holiday I have tried to catch up. However, with this Anova, I have been unable to understand anything. BUT all because of this and other videos of your I have been able to somehow comprehend what I am learning after few round with each video. I am sure people have told you this before, but you are extremely good at what you do. Again, Thank you. I have to go now and like all the other clips ;)
Whenever I search for ANOVA tutorial, I get videos that sorta dive into how to calculate ANOVA but fail to explain what it actually means. Its amazing how you explain what ANOVA actually means. Thanks a ton.
I have been in stats lectures for my MSc Psych course for 8 weeks and actually walked out of them due to sheer panic and frustration. This is the first of your videos I have watched and I cannot thank you enough, I feel so much more positive and proactive about it all now! It'll never be my favourite subject but the way you explain and take the time, especially with the visuals makes it all so much better. Wonderful, keep it coming you're making a huge difference :)
Thank you for the encouragement and BEAUTIFUL explanation. It has been a VERY long time since I have been in a formal math class, and my current professor refuses to provide any reliable outside resources. I just need the barebones explanations of these things. I understand the HOW but we are never taught the WHY, so thank you!
Honestly the intro was so helpful thank you for saying all that even all those years ago. I am a college student struggling as I'm making the transition from being the easy A gifted kid all my life to having a really hard time and working through an ADHD diagnosis. It really made me feel better and helps with the severe self doubt right now.
I would just like to salute you. I have gone through other presentations in youtube but you are the best. Thank you so much for making things easier for us.
Thanks Brandon, you are fast catching fire where i live( Africa). Many of us are recommending anyone interested to watch ur lessons on youtube. Quite easy to follow. Thanks
Thank you so much! So happy to hear the beautiful people of the African continent find the channel helpful. Please spread the word! Can't wait to make it there some day. 🌍
Hi, Brandon. I'm preparing to take a Six Sigma certification test and need to brush up on my statistics. I like the fact that you try to give students a general understanding of concepts before presenting the math. I found your presentation on the concept of ANOVA to be quite clear and informative. I'm looking forward to your other videos!
Thank you for your brilliant way of explaining. Your videos are priceless as they are simple to understand with the visual representations. Thank you for encouraging students as well.
i used to listen your stuff with 1.25x speed. This time i thought you are the wrong person until I made it 1.25x again. What a relief, you have nice videos.
Brandon thank you so much for these great videos. I watch them and re-watch them as needed. You do a wonderful job helping us to learn not only the statistic but the rationale for why it is done. Love these! Thank you.
