Omo. I am sure some data newbies like me forgot about statistics. I had to calm down, park my PC and read statistics. I love this initiative. Abdullahi Mujaheed 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Take for example a population of year 1 students studying Statistics at the University of Ilorin. Assuming they are 200 Students in total. That is the Population. If you take the age of the students and calculate AVERAGE, that average is a Parameter because you use the entire population while calculating it. If you take a sample of 120 students from a total (population) of 200 and calculate the AVERAGE. the average here is called a Statistic. In simple term, whatsoever value you calculate as long as the data you use is the entire population, that value is called a Parameter. If the data you use is a sample, the value is called a Statistics.
