Saw Quo "supported" by Steeleye for thier Christmas show at the NEC. I think it was 97 or 98. Both bands had great fun rocking out to this for Quos "encore"
@@johnforeman2023 I became a fan of Steeleye Span in France when I heard this woman's voice on Little Sir Hugh and Demon lover on their album "Commoners crown". They were ignored in my country, the only guy who would speak about them, and also about Fairport Convention was the Breton singer , harpist and song writer Alan Stivell. He always said their were a true inspiration for him...
great to see evertone having such a fun time, no prima donnas, Maddie doesn't need all manner of fancy costumes and props, the sense of friendship between her the the Quo shines
Never knew about Maddy Prior before ... I love her thrilling joy enjoying the song and the moment :-)) A great movie for dark mood moments, and a great song anyway :-)
Many view Noel's House Party as pretty much ancient history now... I recall the original version of this song with Maddy on lead vocals... now I feel old, very old. But such fun, both are great versions and have place in music history.
