Pretty much, yeah. They'll keep trying and trying. I guess, to be fair, the success of the Sonic live actions show it can be done, but clearly netflix won't put in the actual effort they did xD
@@RequiemOvoid1314 Actually no, you’re not even close. The One Piece live action actually looks promising. The head writer is a mega One Piece fan who got Oda’s blessing. He specifically tells his writers to get inspiration from anitubers. He has had multiple conversations and has asked for feedback from the top one piece anitubers including Tekking101 himself. The cast looks amazing and have been doing One Piece research. Oda is going to be heavily involved. It won’t be a movie but a seasonal series with the first season having ten 1 hour long episodes. It has a 100 million dollar budget, and some of the people who worked on the Witcher are involved in directing. It has everything it needs to succeed, the money, the cast, the writers, and the passion. The only potential problem would be people acting like BCG and taking one look at a teaser image and deciding it’s not worth trying.
I'm still recovering from hearing about the One Piece series that's supposed to come out, then THIS bullshit happens....Netflix is really out here trying to piss everyone off
You’re not over acting! I’m happy to see your strong passion again! You always manage to make me laugh! I’m also sick of how most movie and tv show industries act as if animation isn’t good enough! They act as if everything isn’t high quality or note worthy unless they’re live action! I’m dreading the day when they will make a crappy live action adaptation for one of my top favorite anime called, Stein’s Gate!
To be fair to Togashi he didn’t rush the series just because he was bored. He was going through physical and mental burn out as he didn’t want to keep doing YYH but Shonen Jump wanted more due to its popularity. Plus his health was deteriorating with the lack of sleep, back pain, and nausea which he still deals with today. It wasn’t exactly an ideal situation all around but I’m glad he at least seems to be doing somewhat better these days as he only really works on Hunter x Hunter when he’s up for it.
I havent even seen it till NOW OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO😭💔 NOT THE GOAT YU YU HAKUSHOOOOOOOO Also nah love the rant lol I totally agree with you man...
@@markparkinson6947 For me the characters were what drew me in, the main character Yusuke especially. I watched the dub and to this day its still my favorite way to watch the show as the voice actors did a great job giving the characters charm and letting their personalities show.
@@lonewolffang yes but they it doesn't really have a full anime, and I don't think a lot of people even knew about it before the movie. But your point still stands
@@nekochan21121 which is so surprising to me because A. Gintama is my favourite anime of all time And B. I thought it was a doomed idea from the start, my reaction was exactly like Tony's in this video. But it somehow worked, probably because Gintama is so self aware and wall breaking you can acknowledge these kind of stuff
The One Piece live action from Netflix has to be good. It has to. It will be the biggest crime to not be amazing. I wish for the best for Oda but man I hope he does a great job supervising the live action version of his beloved series. As for Yu Yu Hakasho, I’ve never seen it (the anime), but I’m not really hyped for it because of the companies track record of the garbage effort they put into these shows.
I stopped messing with Netflix when they stop letting other customers share accounts with eachother. Netflix figures if somebody could just share a account with another without paying, that's less subscriptions so it's less money for them, so Netflix ended all the account sharing, now everybody has to pay full price for their services smh.
Meh, at this point it is what it is. I like anime, not live action, so if these companies want to keep burning money trying to make things stick that's on them.
I think what LA of animé that Netflix can properly make is the like of Card Captor Sakura, Doraemon, Beyblade, Zenki or Let's Go. But for this one, I think Netflix will not succeed with Yuyu Hakusho if they lack of funding.
Tony: 0:20 -0:33 no 😫Netflix don't you even f****** dare.... touch the greatest shounen anime ever made and thats not an understatement Me: yea that's right Tony you better tell em 👏🏽 😤 cause Netflix is fit to get these hands by me👊👊👊 for REAL!! Meanwhile............ Netflix: looking through RU-vid👀 animated reviews oh that's trending(yu yu hastuo) let's ruin it through movie, controversial is the new currency baby yeah!(rubbing hands like birdman)🤑🙏🏿
Netflix, once a company that could do no harm, but now is the destroyer of worlds. Then again, they do want animation to be nothing more like BoSs BAbY!
Netflix doesn't learn does it, things are just not meant to be. Live-action adaptations of popular anime series, that are completely redundant and inferior to the anime series. And yet they persist both in the East and West. And that is just sad, by the Toney did you see Netflix's Love, Death, +Robots? That show was amazing.
Instead of doing these pointless and unnecessary Live-Action Adaptations of classic Animes, Netflix and Co. should do more Anime Adaptations of Movie Franchises like e.g. The Animatrix, Blade Runner: Black Out 2022 or Star Wars: Visions. Anyway, I can't wait for the Netflix's One Piece Live-Action Adaptation. That is going to be hilariously bad!
That's the direction I'd prefer they go, but I like/prefer anime over live action as my medium of choice so I have a bias lol But given how massive anime's popularity has been you'd think they'd be more inclined to throw money at animation studios to produce original anime they can exclusively air. But live action is cheap if they don't put much effort into it, so obviously they'd go that route.
I hate this stuff and these kinda fans of YYH man its my favorite anime of all time hands down. Ima check it out still cause I just wanna see it. Will it be bad most definitely but the way I see it is that this give light to a great anime and opens it to others to see it. I love that its getting attention and others will finally see it. You have no idea how many kids just wear that YYH shirt from Hot topic but have no idea what the series is. I'm hyped for this mainly cause I love the show and it'll give it attention. Don't be a fan that hates this be a fan that promotes this so the original will get the attention it definitely deserves
You know what, I think Netflix actually is trying at this point… TRYING to make a hot, steaming pile of shit with every live action anime remake film that they come out with. It makes no sense how you could fuck up classic animes like this. They could literally just reenact a few of the episodes from the show and people would be happy. Ask the authors to come up with an hour and a half of content. Anything. Might as well record the actors taking dumps, because that’s all this shit is.
I actually watched YuYu Hakusho on funimation, and then, I just can't wait to see the new Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is in theaters August 19th, 2022, yeah!?
You're right. It was a pain watching the show. They butchered epic moments because of rushed break neck pacing. Yusuke's trial and resurrection, four saint beast arc, yusuke's training with genkai(this is probably the most insulting), genkai vs toguro and the fuccing dark tournament
1/10 for me. It didn't have the spirit of the Yu Yu Hakusho I knew. Don't know why the majority is impressed by it. Zero character development, zero soul. I also noticed the high reviews on IMDb are written using AI/ChatGPT 😆 It's like Netflix just tried to cash in with nostalgia using Yu Yu Hakusho's brand.
I will say that if it is done by the group that did Rurouni Kenshin and the cast is solid, then I have no complains, but Anime to live action rarely is any good at all, only ones I like are: - Rurouni Kenshin (Was Really Surprised on how well and good it was) - Death Note (Japanese Version) Not bad for cramming a ton of information from the anime and manga into two movies, worth a watch. - Death Note (Americanized Version): Note: I understand the point of this movie was to make it as though an American boy found it instead of a Japanese boy, but I really like what they did with Ryuk most of all. - Blood the Last Vampire (Not to bad for this classic anime movie turned live action) - The Kings Avatar (Chinese animation turned live action, not to bad, rather enjoyed) Totally hated (in order of worse to least): 1. Dragonball Evolution (NO, JUST NO!!!!!!!!, an Abomination that should have never seen the light of day) 2. Full Metal Alchemist (To Comedic and fake looking) 3. Attack on Titan (Too comedic and fake looking) Never attempted to watch/or Just never watched: - Cowboy Bebop (Refuse to watch) - Alita, battle angel (Loved the actual Anime so am afraid to watch it and ruin a childhood memory) - Detective Pikachu (Own it but never opened the package yet to view it) - Bleach (Refuse to watch) - Gantz (Loved the anime and CG movie but have not cared to watch the live action) - Assassination Classroom (Never tried to watch, looks awful from what I have noticed) Don't really know what to say about but did watch it: - Initial D I know that there are many others but these are the ones that really caught my attention and that I can think of off the top of my head. But I would love to see live actions (Done correctly) of: - Trigun - Outlaw star - Cowboy Bebop (Rebooted to be more accurate) - Trinity Blood - Hellsing - Vampire Hunter D - Berserk - Kingdom (Anime) - That time I got reincarnated as a Slime (Not gonna lie, when you first see Rimuru as a slime it looked live action so it made me think about it and would not mind seeing it) There are more I would love to see but these are my tops
true . but they have flops too. live action doesnt do well coming from 2d origins bc it has limitations. especially if things arent human, have inhuman abilities or effects. it ends up looking bad.
Only thing I can imagine benefiting from this is the sensui fight having better fight choreography & the final tournament ending on yusuke waking up and he missed the rest of the tournament after beating Yomi.
Nah as long as the Kenshin live action movies continues to exist I will hold out hope that there will be another live action anime movie franchise as good as it.
Oh god I hope not that they don't ruined it including the parts where Youko Kurama first appeared I think that they ruined that one anime Bastard so far they ruined Saint Seiya anime turning Shun into a girl and changing things.
While I have not seen Yu-Yu, since I don't really watch anime shows anymore, I do hope this show isn't tarnished for you and it's other fans. Knowing Netflix, they'd half-ass it and only care about using peoples nostalgia for it. This is the same company, who canceled various animated projects, projects that people had been working hard on, only to be given the boot, all because they freaked out at their subscriber count going down, yet laying off so many animation workers, ensures no one will ever want to watch them ever again. I don't trust Netflix anymore and really, they don't have my respect for disrespecting animation and shutting down projects that they didn't even give a chance to.
I guess my comment is deleted. I will write it again then. If this live action turns out as good as Alice in Borderland ( it was well received and IMO one of the best Live action we have gotten over the years) then I am not totally against the idea. It may bring new people to watch the original show or read the manga. Edit:- My comment wasn't deleted 😅😅😅
Alita was good And people like Tokyo Ghoul, I still have yet to see it myself though. It really depends on the who has the helm, which only a few have proven they can do.
Still waiting for a live-action adaptation of Monster. They can shoot this anywhere at England and Germany and I don't mind a different MC. I bet a lot of director would be interested plus US still have the rights to it.
You know what's a bad idea? A live action adaptation of One Piece💀 The anime was tailored to cartoon style. It would NEVER work with the limits of real life.
I share your feelings on the matter at hand but it's sort of a double-edged sword we both know is going to be trash but on the plus side it gets more recognition to Yu Yu Hakusho does leading bringing in more fans in order order to for them see how the show really is
When I was in Philippines, YYH was one of the most hyped series introduced and it lived up to it. Notflix should stop making LA of anime or they will sink further down to the creative and financial bankrupt sea. They already laid off woke and activist employees who don't contribute.
Lmao a bunch of guys in the comments are hating on Netflix just for adapting anime when they've made some of the greatest shows in recent years like The Queen's Gambit, Stranger Things, Cobra Kai, Arcane: League of Legends, My Name, Squid Game, All Of Us Are Dead, and Better Caul Saul. Just watch those shows instead of the crappy adaptations. There, simple as that.
Arcane remained in a 2D/3D environment. It never touched live action. I heard it had a lot of the company that made the games input.I feel the biggest issue is when things deviate too far from the content. YYH had some from manga to anime, but live action already carries the botion of "live". Demons, sfx, the acting. A lot of limitations happen in live action.
Not really. The anime still exists and, odds are, will still be the superior work. If you actually like live action then yeah, they'll kill it, but otherwise just sit back and enjoy their next attempt at burning money xD
I’d be more optimistic if it were a Japanese production instead of a Hollywood production. As bad as the live action attack on Titan and Fullmetal alchemist movies have been, I would rather watch those movies rather than Netflix’s death note or Netflix’s Cowboy Bebop.
Hey BCG, what do you think about a One-Piece live action, and you have every right to be upset I like Yu Yu HAKUSHO too I think Netflix should leave it alone.
That’s actually happening and it actually looks extremely promising. The head writer is a mega One Piece fan who got Oda’s blessing. He specifically tells his writers to get inspiration from anitubers. He has had multiple conversations and has asked for feedback from the top one piece anitubers including Tekking101 himself. It has a 100 million dollar budget, and some of the people who worked on the Witcher are involved in directing. It has everything to succeed, the money, the cast, the writers, and the passion
Are they gonna make live actions of EVERY anime that's ever been made or just the popular ones? Smh they were good as they were good as anime don't change that netflix iwhat the hell man
Don't talk about Resident Evil series.......ohhhhh my God , that had so much potential but for some reason it me threw off and bringing my hopes up and letting me down , finally the story was poorly written - it was all over the place , too much was happening all at once which makes no blasted sense. Netflix ....learn from your mistakes pleeeeeeeeaaaaaaaase.
The only live action of a manga people really love is Alice in Borderland. If it turns out as good as that then maybe more people will watch the anime. Anyway it was nice to see your rant after a long time
I hate this kind of reaction. It’s obnoxious and damaging. You saw one teaser image and just assumed the adaptation would be bad and awful. You don’t know shit about it, you can’t possibly know how bad or good it will be. Imagine if people had this kind of attitude towards superhero movies before Spiderman came out or video game movies before the sonic movies came out. At least give it a fair shot before deciding it’s garbage. It could turn out to be super good but because you’ve judged it and encouraged your fans to judge it before even a teaser trailer was released you could prevent it from achieving success and other people to follow in this adaptation’s footsteps (if it turns out to be decent)
Super Hero movies are different they actually follow their source material somewhat. As for the Sonic movie did you not see the corrections they made with Sonic? You're talking about people that have shown effort in respecting the source material with people that don't 😕 Like why do you think anyone would trust them the third time?
@@jasongreen5956 My point is with both super hero movies and video game movies there was a lot of dumpster fire before we got to something good. Will the Yu Yu Hakusho live action suck? Maybe, I might even say probably, but at least give it a chance to succeed instead of dooming it from the start. It’s incredibly unfair to make assumptions about the Yu Yu Hakusho live action based on one teaser image. The sonic movies broke the video game movie curse. Spiderman and the MCU movies broke the superhero movie curse. I think One Piece will break the anime live action curse. Maybe Yu Yu Hakusho will too but nothing will succeed with this kinda gatekeeping attitude.
@@Phillylove100 The thing about that is so far they haven't been respecting the source material that's what I have been saying. It's no curse it's them taking a franchise and doing their own thing with it.
Okay Let me say this superheros are easy to do like Thor or Blade or etc. Anime is quite diffucult to do will Yu yu hakusho might be good or might be terrible. One piece might be good or might be another dumpster . The producer for Gundam might not pull of the geo poltical themes of Gundam etc. Somestimes live action can be good japanese kenshin, kingdom, inuyashiki, tokyo ghoul, revengers etc are solid from japan.Yu yu hakusho my favorite anime of all time so even if netflix drops the bag. i can rewatch the anime all over again
@@jasongreen5956 I can respect being hesitant because they’ve been untrustworthy in the past. But saying nope it’s going to be awful and not giving it the slightest look because of a teaser image that doesn’t even look bad is ridiculous and reductive. Nothing will ever change or get better with that kinda attitude. That’s the point I’m trying to make and too many popular creators keep having that attitude and influencing their fans to have the same attitude.
