When African leaders are not involving their citizens in very important issues affecting their countries, it becomes a lost cause.

This man just cancelled a convention, where panAfrican leaders came to talk to the youth, too encouraged and inspired them, but he was jealous and afraid! He is a very weak man.

Its normal for any head of state to want hs people to stay. The problem is Africans rely to much on their leaders. Groups and villages need to take initiatives to fix their land. Fleeing is too easy

I support him on this. I live abroard and i will say he is 100% correct. Some of us are just ashame to return back home empty handed and will rather die abroad than to face the reality. There is no rest or saving account abroad. They don't pay you what you work for. The earnings are not sustainable. Millions of Africans abroad are dying in silence ashame to speak out. Abroad is not what we see on movies TV it is 2 different world. Western Movies and entertainment are design to brainwashed you. Wake up and don't loose your continent to your enemies. Nana is very correct on this one. Better die poor and leave a land on earth for your race. Remember how America Canada and Australia were created and today the indigenous people are in the shadows or no where to be found.

Africa must train it's citizens to embrace science and technology shaped to suite the African environmental demands. The program mentioned will include serious Pan African studies and high engagement in agricultural education.

I believe that one of the things that prevent the progress of us Africans is our dependent mindset. If the Chinese are able to go through centuries of struggles and manage to lift up themselves, the Europeans have been able to organizated themselves to be as successful as they are. So why do Africans believe that going to other people land to seek after the crumbs from their tables is going to be the answer to our problems? If others can lift themselves, why can't we. Are we admitting that we're inferior to other people? Africa needs to exorcise our curse of induvidualism, break down the barrier of African individual countries nationalism and start embracing the concept of panafricanism and these could prove to be the foundation of that elusive African dream. We must take that determined and concrete step. No one is ever going to do it for us.

As long as the youth are kept uneducated and mis-educated, they can never and will never know how to choose leaders who truly have their best interests at heart. I live here in Ghana now, and I and all of the diaspora that have moved here can attest to all that you have said. It is very frustrating to us that we do not have the legal power to do things to really benefit our ancestral home even though we have come back with the education, the experience, the skills, the business standards and ethics and collectively the know how of building a thriving economy. We don't even have a simple legal way of bringing in our wealth that we may have accumulated in the West without being charged excessively. If we should all go back to the lands of our oppressors, it would be devastating to Ghana. We are truly disappointed with this present government.

Even though Africa loses its most educated and brightest people to America and the UK, I’m sure they would not leave a beautiful place like Africa if there were more opportunity. Many Africans are educated and more intelligent than the average and could propel Africa to higher prosperity and accomplishments for its people. It’s withstanding the growing pains and hardships to reach that higher place that is the challenge. Many just can’t see how to progress fast enough due to these hoops you have a jump through in Africa, therefore go to America or the UK for a better life. As a black American, I have the highest regard for the motherland.

The President is correct, there is nothing wrong ib getting an education abroad, but Africans I hope would return and help with the development of their nations. Africans are too stuck on governments as instruments of development. Their function is to provide security, education, health care, infrastructure and the conditions for commerce to strive, they should not be involved in Business but have established a legal redress for business disputes. The development of Africa will come from it's peoples natural excellence at commerce.
