PhylDaily. I don't play the game but enjoy your videos. I spent the vast part of my adult life as Mechanic in the British Army working on Tanks. Does the Chieftain have the same penetration as the Challenger Mk1 to 3 in the game? Or is the Chally "buffed". As they should be the same as its the same gun, fcs and thermal sight (TOGS ) The last Chieftain was the Stillbrew variant which had TOGS as well. In fact inside the turret there was no virtually no difference between Chiefy and Chally.

you know what I'm gonna say it the challenger is a great MBT and deserves more love

I'd agree with you that the challenger mk3 is fun (mk2 is just a money sink with no usable free ammo), but three things are need. 1) The scorpion 90. This would give Britain the much need speed that was lost with the warrior NERF, and give players the chance for an early flank or late game save, with the challenger bringing the mid game firepower. 2) Air support. The Challenger gets slaughtered from helicopters, as it's generally sat at the back behind a hill, and doesn't have ess or the speed to get out of there (challenger 2 at least has ess). This is made worse by the fact Britain have no helicopters, the worst AA and an IFV with a very slow fire rate. Gaijin need to stop whatever game they're playing and give Britain helicopters and the chieftain sabre (marksman can be foldered). It wouldn't hurt to at least give the javelin it's proper ground payload too, so it would at least have a use, then at least British players have the option to cover their own. 3) Drive mechanics. Regenerative steering is still not in the game, and essentially means the tank loses very little speed in turns by redirecting energy in a manouvre, which would benefit all nations, but mostly Britain with their sluggish tanks. Neutral steering is still broken top tier and is painful with the challenger. And finally suspension. The challenger had very advanced suspension that allowed it to retain more speed over rough terrain than other tanks. The Challenger 2 especially could go faster than it's contemporaries over certain terrain. If they can sort those issues out, it should actually be a pretty competitive BR for Britain, and they can sort out matchmaking a bit.

Challenger series are one of the most rewarding tanks to play at rank 6 in my opinion. It's not a noob frindly tank like some other tanks at rank 6.

Well a great feature of the Challenger Mk2 and Mk3 which I use a lot is the fact that when you against the Russians they seem for some odd reason to think the challenger is a Russian tank and just keep on driving. The BREXITIUM Armour makes the "enemy" hallucinate.

The challengers are great. At some point in the future when the new turret has entered service maybe we will get it in game

Played a game on El Alamein today and just sat behind a rock in my chally taking shots from a 2a4 on the opposite hill. We sat there for about 2 minutes while he fired around 10-15 rounds into my turret and the only things I lost were my breach and my commander. Eventually he gave up and I killed him. The challenger is one of the most survivable tanks in the game and I take pride knowing that guy spent 10,000 in shell costs xD

There seems to be a pretty simple solution to the barrel breach issue: An angled plate attached to the barrel of approximately 0-100mm thickness the stretches 1/2 way down the barrel, effectively creating a 70 degree angled composite that still allows the full elevation and depression of the barrel. I'm assuming the main reason it wasn't implemented is that it would affect the barrel's vertical speed, or the added weight would require engineering that wouldn't fit. Any thoughts?

One better way to hull down is with ATGM's from Russian tanks and aiming barrel up over the hills and only having your secondary 14.5mm gun sticking up and switching to that ones scope to guide in the ATGM. Smart.

I mean, I understand the reasons behind armouring the turret way more than the hull, but whose brilliant idea was it to give the challenger NO armour at all on the lower glacis? Not even a little? The fact that they gave it an ERA package afterward only shows that they realized it was a mistake!
