Dermot Murnaghan channelled his inner Ron Burgundy after presenting his last bulletin for Sky News following a 16-year career at the channel.
His colleagues burst into laughter - and applause - as the presenter said goodbye for the final time, throwing his script in the air and mimicking the star of the comedy film Anchorman.

Shout out to Dermot for using his traditional "last day of work" sign off. He did the same thing when Channel 4 Daily ended, and he did his last broadcast for that program in around 1996. Same throw over his right shoulder - legend!

@D C Dermot did it before Burgandy by 8 years or so. Anchorman was 2004. Edit: So, the last episode of Channel 4 Daily was September 25th 1992. Not 1996, as my memory first remembered. Either way, Dermot had done it a clear decade before Burgandy was in Anchorman.

Dermot has always been a nice chap. He often came round to play at my family home in Alexandra Park, Holywood during the 1960's. He was always welcome, we enjoyed his company. Approx. 15yrs ago my family had a get together/ catchup in Holywood. We visited our previous homes and schools and of course we were delighted to meet Dermot's parents at Holywood.
