Great video, thanks for sharing. Thank goodness we can enjoy these castles as youth hostels, hotels and homes rather than as prisoners in medieval times.
Boss Beans!! I love how you ruled the Castle. What fun! Horrible history, but well presented. I too thought Alex was excited by the flag pole. Haha! Another great video, thank you for sharing.
This is soooo cool guys! I definitely want to go there! How amazing it is that it is this cheap, you get a medieval meal AND a tour! I love it! Thanks for the amazing info guys! 😁
Another great vlog, Seeing Emma do the horse thing at the start reminded me of Monty Python and the Holy grail. I spilled my scotch laughing at her. You guys rock.
Awsome video guys, such an awsone place to stay at the whole experience looks well worth it. Have been put off staying at YHA's in the past as thought being youthful was a requirement but from looking at some of the other quests at the banquet I shouldn't worry so much. While it looks lovely now I wouldn't have fancied paying that place a visit back in the day!
I saw a video just recently about the place where you’re staying. It’s apparently haunted! Yikes! Still, it doesn’t seem as if you had any nighttime apparitions to deal with 😉. Great video, thanks 💕
This was one of your funniest efforts...so many guffaws ...from the poor skeleton lying at the bottom of the oubliette(in an appropriate painful pose) to the medieval feast and fashion show. Emma's rendition of a horse was worthy of a BAFTA and Alex's privy joke was simply foul. I'm going to install a sizzling sand security system, i can not foresee and problems with that....
This is sooo awesome!!! Totally going to do this and so many other things youbhave mentioned like Whitby!!! 😁 i am aooo excited!!!! The most bizarre place I have ever stayed is in a b&b that used to be a Prison in Ireland! I have forgotten the name, but nevermind as the only bad thing was the owners were rubbish hosts, so won't worry about mentioning the name 😁
Wow! This is right up our alley, like a dream hostel! We've stayed in some pretty intense old manor houses in the Balkans, but this is pimp! Also, I thought there was an age limit to YHAs. But it looked like all ages...is this so? Because then we can go here! Good stuff guys!
i stayed here in 2016, it was by far the most scary place i have ever stayed in. We stayed in the kitchen. I saw fire in the fireplace, which there was no way of being lit, my friends also saw this. The prison was above us and we heard banging. when we confronted the girls they said they were in bed and they heard it as well. I also have a picture of the doorway at the entrance to the castle. When it was printed off there is a figure of a little boy right in the middle. This place is haunted alright.
It’s definitely haunted - I’ve stayed there a few times over the years and had weird things happen. Apparently it has something like 100 spirits who roam the halls, hardly suprising given its long and bloody history! It’s an awesome place though, I love it.
Not at all, they just want to give back to the youth by providing trips to kids to learn about history and nature. There isn't a party vibe at the hostels and we are usually the youngest there :)
