The original Yankee Stadium (1923-1973, 1976-2008) appears at the three minute mark.

6:12- "'I'VE GOT A SECRET'! Brought to you by WINSTON- America's best-selling, best-tasting filter cigarette!! 'Winston Tastes GOOD....Like A Cigarette Should'!! And now, WINSTON brings you America's #1 panel show, 'I'VE GOT A SECRET'......."

and the clip before that was "My Sister Eileen" with Johnny Olson doing the intro. Twelve years later, he would become the first announcer for the CBS version of "The Price is Right," with Bob Barker as host.

Good to see the intros for all the shows. Hope you have more from the 50"s. Would love to see full shows.

2:09 - The last shot of the "Hawaiian Eye" intro appears to show the three lead characters surfing side by side, and previously we saw Anthony Eisley and Robert Conrad actually surfing. But the blonde girl on the right isn't really Connie Stevens; she's a stand-in who happened to be my second cousin. She was scouted at Waikiki and was hired to do this quick appearance because she resembled Connie and - as you can see - she really could surf.

What show was that on?

I guess Naked City was a early version of Law and Order.

It was originally a 1948 movie adapted into a TV series in 1958. The original half-hour version lasted one season; the hour-long episodes began in the fall of 1960, and were scheduled until the series was cancelled in 1963.

That what's Dick Wolf said. He said he was inspired to create "LAW & ORDER" after seeing "ARREST AND TRIAL".

It was a great well written show.

I was born in September that year. Interesting how many westerns ran weekly on TV then! Thought the fascination would be gone by then.

I was born in October of 1960, which makes me one month younger than you. It also looks really awesome all the shows that were on at the time both of us were born. I just wish I could have seen The Aquanauts. I would love to see a full episode of that show so bad!

At 9:38, the NBC peacock is lively black and white? How strange ... 😮

But I must admit, the first 30 years of my life I saw black and white TV only ...

From 1956 through 1964 (on two different networks), YES.

@@fromthesidelines Bill Cullen was your host from 1956 through 1963 on NBC (with Don Pardo as your announcer), followed by the ABC run from 1963 through 1964 (with your announcer Johnny Gilbert, who would go on to become the announcer for the Alex Trebek-hosted Jeopardy!, a huge hit in syndication, in 1984).

Was that "lively black and white" announcement for real? Amazing. (9:37)

I think, but not for Wagon Train. To me it would be a lead in for a comedy show. But I do like it! :)

The SOUNDTRACK was from a 1967 NBC "special" presentation bumper for "TUESDAY NIGHT AT THE MOVIES" (the world TV premiere of "A Hard Day's Night").

I guess Hawaiian Eye was basically 77 Sunset Strip except in Honolulu HI, just like Surfside Six was 77 Sunset Strip in Miami FL, and Bourbon Street Beat was 77 Sunset Strip in New Orleans LA. But the original version was the only really successful one, because Hawaiian Eye was only on what, 2 or 3 seasons, while Bourbon and Surfside were both on for only one season before getting the ax.
@hebneh
@hebneh Год назад
Actually "Hawaiian Eye" was on from 1959 to 1963, but it never rated in the top 25.
