When ! swas 60 y.o. ! sailes a sailed a dinghy with sail (one sail). Now, at 91 y.o. ! only sail your videos. Keep sendim them. Love from Paulo, Rio de Janeiro.
best guests yet. I really like the interview of the guests and i think it should become a regular thing. Its really nice hearing about them and what they have to say
the black ink is from squid. I do a lot of squidding and knew exactly what it was before you asked. Great fun to catch. get a squid jig and cast around weed beds
At these depths will most likely be cuttlefish or octopus and not squid, I do some spearfishing here in Portugal and when they drop the ink the effect is the same.
Flying dinghies are at least 13 years old - I saw one in Georgetown, Bahamas in 2004. I was only 8, but it was one of those things that sticks out in your memory. Cool stuff!
One thing Ive noticed about Aussie youtube videos. They always choose good music. None of that techno shit that graits against the beautiful natural environment.
Techno shit is for the continental Europeans. They can't get enough of it. Unless you're in Spain then it's worse. Reggeaton, but only the same 5 songs played over and over again.
I watch your videos all the time. Very much enjoyed them. Sailing is on my bucket list. Back in 2004 I almost bought a 34 foot. To this day I regret not buying the sailboat. I have yet to sail, but I haven't given up hope. I had actually got to the point of signing the paperwork to buy that 34 foot boat, however at that time maybe it was meant to be. And 05 hurricane Rita hit , and many sailboats were destroyed. I have been a professional photographer for 34 years and I documented all of the destruction on the south east of Texas. Referring to pleasure Island and Crystal Beach. I've had a boat all my life but not a sailboat . The largest boat was an American offshore 31 ft. race boat. I love boating so much and would like to sale is a dream I have on my bucket list. For the moment I live that dream through watching your videos. Keep it up and be thankful you have had this opportunity. Life is very short at it's best❤️👍
I'm a university student and your guys' videos are a destresser like no other! Your beautiful shots of the world remind us what's out there! Thanks, from an aspiring sailor :)
Just getting to all these old episodes, I started watching after the Nate and Kara episode. You can tell this is one of your good “mates” as he is not shy about ribbing you about the water!
Great video guys. I appreciate your videos so much because they are so relaxing. For 15 minutes each week, I can forget about my life stresses. Keep up the great work!
I just really have to say, when I watch your video's.....my 99 problems just seem to fade away & I find myself with a smile on my face. I want to thank you for that folks.
It's really nice watching your videos, You and Riley are one of the sweetest couple's on the Sailing channel's. You have a beautiful home and it's so good of you to invite Patrons onboard to share in your adventures. Keep living the dream and stay safe 😙
Riley and Elena your videos are like a short vacation, respite if you will from everyday life. You're exceedingly nice down to earth folks...."salt of the earth" if you will. Fair winds and following seas.....From NJ (USN)
Very nice guys! Hey Elayna, your moon walk brought back some memories! Picture about half a meter of ice instead of the hull of the boat with bright sun over head and your in a drysuit and scuba, up side down walking on a glowing moon! One of the coolest scuba experiences ever! Put it on your bucket list for when you get to the frozen north! Lol
Flying Dingy? no haway!! you gots proof though, good video proof! yeah I've never seen such a sweeet idea. of course you could die but still a sweet idea! doh that sunset at the 15 and a half mark gorgeousness, Cool swimming/walking on the moon upsidedown discovery there as well Elay, add that to one of your many skills on the resume :) cheers SLV. PS I had a recent 2 week vacation exploring some scenic states out west. I sent ya a email if you want to check out some of my awesome pics, but really I am awesome. modestly said of course. :) thats all. SLV on!
Nice work! Thanks.... music was not only great, but your editing of it in and out was equally good! I can see why the guy said that you all spent 4- 5 hours a day each doing it ! Well the results are the fruit ! Thanks again!!!
Really enjoyed this ep guys. So much in it. Sailing, plotting, living, lifestyle, socialising. Love the new scarf Riley! Also, excellent observation regarding ‘Paradise’. Thank you. X
This is the most beautiful place I have ever seen. The granite hillsides down to the clear water and classic old european town - I really want to visit this area! Great video!!
I got back from Maddalena 10 days ago, not on a boat though. Breathtaking, Caprera is probably the most beautiful place I ever saw - but every island is magnificent, and wild, and historic, and the sea is amazing.
Hahaha!! Ratzy and Riley, back in business! Hello from the sunny Eyre Peninsula! Haven't seen you boys since early 2000s! Looks absolutely awesome over there! Enjoy!
Super video. It must be hard moon walking upside down. Water in nose. I Rick approve of Elaynas Swimsuit selection. The 5 hours a day of editing is appreciated. Pretty cool flying dinghy. I hope the guests get their boat and do some sailing.
My friend here in Palm Beach, FL has one and I'll send you a picture. He is not licensed to fly over land but keeps it on his charter dive boat and launches it and retrieves it always in water...and no, I won't fly with him as self-taught pilots are not well know for obvious reasons !! Love following you guys and hope to have a treat for you soon. Cheers, Michael
New subscriber! Been binge watching SLV since we found you guys! I have been trying to convince my girlfriend we should be sailing after college, showing her these videos makes it much easier to convince her to take the adventure! Love the videos! Keep up the good work! Would love to spend time with you guys if your ever in California let us know!
@15:08 Riley, I couldn't agree more......which is why I got my Light Sport Pilots license and bought a weight shift aircraft. They're a fantastic way to check out nature....although watching your vids over Thanksgiving has got me thinking. ; )
Just watched the video, loved the joojoo of this episode. Thank you so much for including me docile tune at 12:20 - it means the world to me. Hope life is treating you both well. God bless
Sardinia has one of the best sea in the world with great food and wine...immagine that I learnt how to sail there at 11...30 years ago, and I used to sleep near Spiaggia Rosa when was open to public with the sleeping bag and do fire before sleeping! No wonder why I am an ocean addicted now! :) thanks for sharing! keep the souls beautiful! :) aloha!
After the announcement at the end about a coming surprise, I began to get a bit suspicious of your smile Riley....Elayna, make sure it doesn't slip out too soon!! Can't wait, having a great adventure already!
Thanks for sharing this episode. It is so interesting to see your progress around the Mediterranean. I also wanted to tell you all that I thought that Elayna's H2O broadcast was a very interesting program as well. I had no idea that there were Sun powered boats around like the one that you showed.
Long time viewer, love watching your videos. Heard you were heading north next year. Very excited to possibly see you two. We live on the Shore in Southern New Jersey. Wishing you guys all the best and fair winds ahead.
Rile's, we used to run the genoa around the mast racing a 36 ft tri, er, 100 yrs ago, faster than sheeting in too, but mate THAT was a huge head sail to run around, well bloody done!
Totally love this episode. Got to see some sailing action, patron interviewing, Elena personal camera action, and personal interactions w friends. Beautiful as always 😭
Yet another great video ! Watching you live just makes me smile. Please be careful out there. Where is your old boat ? and , What are the results of 23&me ? Inquiring minds (nosey folks) want to know.
I bought a boat.... inspired by you. I’m a former welder from the oil and gas industry and I took the plunge. I’ve never been so nervous and happy at the same time. If I can have HALF the adventures of you, I will die a happy man.... trading in my blue collar and work boots for a straw hat and sandals
We've had the same trio of seagulls visit our summer cottage here on the west coast of finland for years. they scream their heads off and sound like sea lions in heat. we call them honk, stonk and donk and we often scream back at them (^^,)
James and Destiny were so lovely! They seemed like such nice people. I hope they end up get their own boat and going on lots of successful adventures together :)
Hey I own and fly a hangglider...... and now you have given me an idea. HA! Mine is not motor propelled but still. This is one of your better videos in a while so cheers for that.
Now that was laid back, great feel. I have to go to Warrnambool and Adelaide so I think I'll go and pay homage to SLV with a visit to "Cal" lol Cowell and add some graffiti to the bus stop in Main St, Riley 4 Elayna and SLV woz 'ere ! If I get there I'll post a pic. Keep rocking the social media guys.
Amazing! Fireworks over Palau - must have been the night of 4th of September at 10.30 p.m.... My boat was in the harbour of Palau, too. We were watching this spectacle from the coastline and had no clue that our famous and beloved sailors Elayna and Riley were so close to us. Next time we check on marine traffic.com if you're at the same time in the same place - so we can invite you for dinner or pizza :-) in order to say "thank you so much for sharing your journey around the world with us...". Keep on traveling and posting your perfect edited amazing videos. Kindest regards, Guido
Yea...good chance that is oil in the water. Might want to edit that part about changing your oil on the dingy. Anyway, good video as always and looking forward to hearing what the "Good News" is all about.Cheers...Al
Riley and Elayna: how long will your nice guests be joining you? Also, Riley, been meaning to ask, I personally would love to hear about the more existential/spiritual aspect of your solo journeys. I don't know if that's something you care to share but for those that are interested, give this a thumbs up so Riley might share his inner thoughts with us about being alone on the ocean. AND I've been eager to ask.....see any UFO's?? :-) I always imagine if one is out on the ocean long enough, they're going to have one of those amazing experiences......
Im a birdwatcher, we anchored in that area a few years ago and also heard those birds - they are called Cory’s Shearwater. What is unusual is that they usually make that sound during the night, we never heard them during the day.
Hi guys I like your videos, keep up the good work :) That black ink is from a squid or a cuttlefish,I saw that often while spearfishing in Croatia. Also I remember when I was a kid there was a guy in my town who had a flying dinghy.I think he had some accident or something so he stoped flying. Best regards :)
I have been there, and It's a beatufull place, blue crystal clear waters, nice beaches, everything fine....but the strong winds always blowing. Anyway........good!!!!
Just saw your first video and heared that you got the boat in Monopoly Bari, And i was like huh... well i've been there this summer! Haha. Go on with your vids they're so cool!!
We started from the beginning, and have made it this far into the episodes as of now! Just wanted to stop, drop some love and say thank you. We're enjoying the show and have started our own land based show we were so inspired by yall. We're excited to binge our way forward into real time videos soon, thanks for the all awesome content and inspiration yall!
3:54 - Looks like *_squid ink_* 6:40 - That candy shop is so nice! 15:20 - What the actual fork. I guess it's the perfect solution if you own both a ship and a dirigible!
