This is gonna be *SO HARD* for Ste fans to watch 😢 ...but it is SO VERY important to tell. Hats off to HO for bringing awareness!! It may take a while, but I hope us fans get Our Ste back!! Edit- I really hope Leah and Lucas don't get too entwined up in this. It will be hard for them with everything they've *ALREADY* gone through ☹️
It was not a bad episode this. Everything down to how the dress code was described is very accurate for a type of football hooligans. But I still am a little bit puzzled why Johnny would find a need to lie to Ste about being his brother. That bit is just weird, as I see it.
@@Tvjunkieful12 the only thing I could think of is that is the way that Johnny saw as a way to get Ste to trust him... Ste's family is falling apart, Tegan has died, and Leela had to "take care of something out of town" (with all due respect, Kirsty Leigh Porter needed the time off, since she lost her child in real life). With everything going on in Sinead's life, she can't really be there for him. We all know where Harry is 😁 Either Johnny is *REALLY* good at reading people's lives, or he had somebody watching Ste from early on is my guess. Unfortunately, that's how these kind of groups work...by praying on the vulnerability of people who appear to be in distress, and waiting to see when/if they can be used to the group's advantage. It's a scary world we live in. I'm just glad Hollyoaks is showing JUST HOW EASY it actually is to get sucked into this sort of lifestyle.
@@marian3nene45 Maybe that is supposed to be the reason, but I just don`t find it very credible a gang like this would go through so much trouble, spend so much time and effort, just to recruit one particular individual. They could have found a dozens people, easier and quicker, than the more than the around 6 months they have spent trying to have Ste join them, by approaching people who has shared their sentiments in comments online. Had Ste been someone special, like a celeb or influencer type - and they could feel certain that if he joined them, so would many of his fans or followers. But Ste isn`t anything like that. His greatest claim to fame is being wrongfully accused of murder. So I dont get why he should be so useful for them? I fear rather than joining the group, he is being set up for some kind of trap - either they will turn on him, or use him as patsy for something they have planned to do, but don`t want to be found out to have done. If my fear is correct, Ste has been selected not despite being gay - but because of it, and by having him caught for whatever it is Stuart and the gang is planning, they hope to create a divide between the gay community and whoever will fall victim to the planned attack Ste is meant to be set up for. It is the old strategy of divide and conquer, I fear Stuart has in mind, and which is why it was so important to recruit not just any person - but a gay one, that Johnny went as far as claiming Ste to be his brother, to make sure Ste wouldn`t lose interest after Johnny didn`t return the kiss. If I am right, and that is what Hollyoaks is planning, my guess is the gang both know Ste is gay, his violent past and everything else about him, from what they learned from the papers after Ste was arrested and charged with Amy`s murder. And that everything from the Bean being bought, to Johnny turning up to manage it, has been part of that elaborate plan to recruit Ste for this purpose. They want him and only him, cause they don`t know about anybody else who has the right combination of both being gay and having a violent past with addiction issues, so he would make such an easy to believe to be guilty scapegoat - pointing the finger of guilt in the direction they want to point it.
It's annoying how they act like ste has never played football before back in the day he was into all that stuff Its like all of a sudden they had ste interested in shopping.
Harmony233 yeah I remember he used to play football when he was in high school and dated amy. the writers seem to think just because they mad him gay, he can't like sports. thats very sad.
The point of the storyline is that Stuart and his gang are using Ste for a purpose. I wouldn`t be at all surprised if they will end up turn on him too, when he has served his purpose. But for now at least, they find him useful for their purpose of making the whole of the UK go against muslims. Since Stuart have an Asian wife/girlfriend, it seems this group has their sole focus on muslims, and is not racist in general.
It is a valid storyline to do, since racism in general, opposition against immigration or prejudices and attacks towards particular ethnic or religious groups is a challenge almost all over the world.

I assume they figure Ste`s anger over Tegan`s death, the fact he has not got Harry in his life and Leela is away will make him so desperate for adult companionship, he`ll go along with everything.
