The monkey. That’s how people catch them. People will dig a whole and put food in it. When the monkey reaches in, it can’t pull out because it’s fist becomes too big, but it will not let go of the food.

Greed is one hell of a bitch and OP would have been a jerk if not for the fact cousin messed with them and their quality time with Grandfather. You can be greedy and still not ruin the relationship of others in the family and as long as you can see that then by all means be greedy. Just don't be surprised if you get caught doing something you're not supposed to

Raccoons love shiny objects, therefore if you put something down that’s very shiny as a trap, they won’t let go. They decline to let go so if you put it in a trap of some sorts it’ll be stuck until death

In the last story, the grandfather had to know how the cousin was for him to put that statement in his will. He knew the cousin was greedy and may try something to get more than what was left for him. Kudos for grandpop!

It’s a raccoon you’re thinking of. The way it goes is you have a small hole big enough for a raccoon paw on an immovable object. You place something very shiny inside. The raccoon will reach in to get said shiny object and become stuck. The raccoon can pull it’s paw out if it lets go of the object but won’t let it go.

A baboon. Afrians would put something in a tight space and when the baboon would grab it, it wouldn't let go no matter what. At least until it's caught then it decides to let go but by then it's already too late

Raccoons do it too. They like shiny objects so if you put said object in a small cage just big enough to get their hand in without the object but too small with the object in hand they'll refuse to let it go. It's a cheap hunting trick

if you put something shiny in an area where a little raccoon hand can get in but not out w a fist it won’t let go of it bc it wants the shiny item but since it’s hand is in a fist it can get out

It's a raccoon a like having a stick and grab onto it and it gets stuck in like a hole that the stick won't fit through but instead of letting go of it and pulling its hand out it won't let go

The snow monkey from Japan and a baboon can be caught by trapping it with food in a cage that has the food in a compartment too small for it to pull its hand out of with the food in it

The fact that Americans don’t have mandatory photo ID’s is insane to me . in my country we have mandatory national ID cards with both a picture and biometric data and you can’t do anything without providing it . Sure ID theft still happens but it’s nowhere near as easy or casual as the USA

We do have photo IDs. We're required to get state photo IDs when we are 18 which can be substituted only by a passport or Drivers license which you have get re-issued every few years which includes going to the DMV or county office and getting your picture retaken
