VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
This DIY build has a gorgeous skylight directly above their full bed and open living space. The bathtub is perfectly hidden under the couch that also duplicates as a spare bed. The kitchen is Candice's favorite part with the ample counter space, 3-burner stove, and upper open cabinets. The stunning ceilings are tea-stained by hand and have a weathered look that completes the turquoise and natural tones.
A makeup artist and digital artist live full time in this box truck and can travel while working remotely. Candice and Simon first experienced the van life over in Australia and fell in love with it! Returning to Canada, they started their build and have been in it ever since.

Whoever did the video for this missed a lot of shots. I would have loved to see the base and top of the shower. And I would have liked to see more of how the drawers were set up particularly the garbage area because the set up for recycling is different for many people.

Love the type of vehicle you chose, but camera operation could have been better. Less showing the person talking more showing the van interior. For example while Candice is telling us about the tub the camera never left her to show us the tub. When giving a van tour the van is the main subject. People are interested in seeing what and how things are made and laid out. Other than that though, kudos on the billed, what was shown of it.

Maybe more details in the van less body views. Very clever build , I will use the way the curtains were hung up. I could use shoe laces to roll up my window drapes. When I see these type of builds always gives me a brainstorm on an issue I'm having with mine. Im also interested in the bulk foods. I wonder if we have anything like that in NC near Raleigh area.. ill be planning an Ikea trip once I move full time in the van.

That mileage is great for a step van. I had a 79 Chevy P30 that averaged in the single digits. It may have been a little bigger 26 feet bumper to bumper. However, I wasn't living in it, I was working out of it. Wish I still had it. Great Van and video

Why can't the camera operator show what the person is describing??? Does he/she feel that, because the shower tub is in his periphery or he has seen it already, that the audience has?? Soooooooo frustrating to watch! I've noticed this glaring problem with this channels videos before. We don't need to perpetually gaze at the person speaking fir gosh sake!!🤬

Filming could be improved , I couldn't make sense of the room, where is the toilet compared to the bench. A view from the back of the front and vice versa would help.. To continue,, this home has Lord of the Ring vibe, maybe it is the colors scheme and the hair color of the lady. Beautiful combination of color. Cosy and welcoming home.

Well I get it I am retired a widow and 70 yrs old snd I have this big house I don’t need I want to sell and get out of here so I’m looking at all modes of living on the road I see what you have done and it is a good set up but I do understand the pandemic has affected all of us I’m a cheap old women and I refuse to pay the high prices for lumber …. 15 mpg is pretty darn good for a vehicle of that weight/size. That's what my old pickup truck gets...lol. I would have assumed your build would have only gotten around 8mpg max. I'm impressed! Great build! I love the size. Thanks for making this video.

Good question. Why not keep the tub but also convert the toilet to a wet bath with a handheld shower hose (or insulated handheld bidet) that could be used in the shower or extended to fill the tub? That way they could have both a tub for Candice and a fixed shower for Simon.

What a glorious layout and creative use of materials, and it fits your lifestyles as a MUA and a digital artist! I love that the metal walls around the sofa are both beautiful and functional, doubling as shower/bath walls when it's converted. And that there is still room to get out of bed when the table is extended. It's also nice to see a fully loaded kitchen where you can prep and store enough food to last three weeks or more. Nice choice to make the windows double as emergency exits. And with the skylight providing roof access you don't need an exterior ladder. I have bamboo bedsheets too, and they are probably my favorite thing in my home! They are indeed great for temperature regulation and they feel so silky and sensual. They are expensive but worth it to me because I get sensory euphoria from them every day.

14 -15 MPG you are getting is certainly a lot better than the 6-8 MPG that we got on our 32 ft Motor Home!! My husband drives a 2007 Toyota Tacoma. Great truck, but it only 17 - 18 freeway, and 15 - 16 in town. Soooo you are actually getting excellent MPG for the size truck you have!!!!

14 MPG is not really that bad for a large vehicle. My TOYOTA Sienna AWD only gets about 18 MPG. Nice job. Love that you tea-stained the ceiling and built your own skylight. Would love a bath tub, but wonder if Simon couldn't find an antique washtub bath with sloped back in England. A water trough doesn't seem very comfy. Of course with your skills and creativity you can probably modify the trough. TFS, happy adventures.

These kind of people are curious, but interesting to watch. Kind of throwbacks to the Hippies of the 1960's and early '70's. Nice to travel all over the place, but, it's even better when you do it sporadically. There's an old song, "Back In Your Own Backyard". Your own backyard, your home, somewhere you can retreat to, with all of the comforts of "home". With space for utensils and clothes and storage. Minimalization has so many drwbacks, and I see just as many videos complaining about van life, and having given up so much. Just be wise, folks, and don't go to extremes, like Hippies, or especially, Republicans.(lol!)

You are right their is a lot of room in the bread trucks great choice I would love to convert one. If i do I will I will try to put a small 3.5 corner garden tub with seat call lasco tubs&shower and have them make custom mold. or 4ft x30"tub &shower now I just have alpine 40ft 5wheel. It’s a beautiful set up very homely. I just wished someone could have moved the camera around to show us the items she points to. I wanted to see the shower/troth in full. I have no idea of how it all looks. We only get to see part of it. Make a clay mold of the knob post. Fill that mold with resin. Send that with depth and good pictures to a 3-D printer to make you an knob.

I have a full bed at home in my camper and I have a twin at my cabin in summer I sleep in my camper and I'm in the cabin mid October and I can't imagine sharing a full bed without rolling out of bed

Great fuel economy but if you want more you won't find it in gasoline or LP you need diesel.🤗 Another idea is that big wind block van was designed for stop an go city delivery so if you want it for road travel you might consider a auxillary gear box or overdrive . But 10 mpg isn't bad for what it is .

I was preceptor to a young, beautiful, bight, dynamic nurse who had this beautiful, glorious blue hair and two facial piercings and maybe 5 earrings in each ear. The hospital allowed her to keep one piercing, two tiny earrings but forced her to dye her hair. That I couldn’t understand because she was a theatre student and her hair was covered, in any case. I am from the old school and cringed when I saw that piercing and wondered why she would have so many tattoos. She was truly the best student I had ever had. She taught me to look past the cover and read the actual book. Your hair took me back in time and I wished that I had had the guts to do that. And I love your van. Good luck on your travels. I am in physical therapy due to a newly herniated disk (plus four back surgeries to try and correct my mess of a spine). Anyway, I was almost finished when the next patient arrived with the most beautiful, lilac hair. It was shaded a darker purple underneath and at the front. With her light blue eyes, this young woman was incredibly striking. I was really shocked when my physical therapist told me they are not allowed to have colored dyed hair! Plus there are company stipulations regarding piercings and tattoos. I guess they don’t consider it professional.

Hi there. What a nice couple and what a nice truck. The way you chose to place the shower/tub is unusual. I wish I could have seen more of that. I like the colors, the shelving, the sliding table..and the macrame. Though I can't stand the bitterness of beer, what a surprise to see Belgium's trappiste of Chimay on your shelves!!! The very small town of Chimay and its abbey are about 30km from my parents' place. Of course now it has been modernized, but the abbey where the monks use to make the beer is open to the public and you can taste their beer and their cheese there. I saw the blue one (the strongest) and the white one (the lightest) on your shelve but, in case you don't know, there is a red one too. Simon, I had such a good laugh trying to understand you with that terrible English accent of yours. You can't imagine how hard it is for a french speaking lass like me ;-) Candice was so much easier to understand. Anyway, back to the subject. I hope you isolated your van well and have a way to heat the truck. Winter is coming and I believe Canadian winters are quite harsh. I wish you the best and have fun with the nomad life
