Same happened to me 3 times already in past 12 years. Why do they do that? What is the reason. You will get your account back in like 24 hours an if you dont have anny items to sell it is useless for them. How doeas it work, do those people have to buy your accout from the third party and they send them your password or what?

my account A that has been hijacked uses my main email. but after the hacking incident i quickly, without realizing made a new account B with my main email without a second thought due to sheer panic. as much as im worried with the games ive spend on, im more worried about my credit card info either its going to be abused or not. now theres no way of telling steam that my hacked account belongs to me andim just fed up. should i just make another account or is there any ways to recover it

They've changed the captcha since this video to something far less functional... I can't even get to the ticket submission page. Update: The captcha issues have something to do with the IP addresses. After a help request was submitted from a computer in another location, I swiftly received help and got my Steam account back!

I just dont know how my account could have been hacked so easily. I had Steam Guard active, but was somehow logged off the App without it asking me even once. My Email could also not have been hacked because I have two factor authenticator active there aswell. Thats so damn weird to me.

When I get to the 'Change my Password' area I don't have the same options as you do. I only have 'Enter your email address or phone number' , which I obviously don't remember since I was like 12 years old when I created that steam account. Thank you sooo much. The steam staff team responded whiten 5 hours and I showed them my receipt to the game I bought and some other photos. They said I didn’t give enough information but they said they have enough information and that my account was compromised so they gave me the password and they changed my steam email to the email I contacted them with and I got my account back
