This video is not a commercial product presentation, but a journalistic product review that I shot as part of a journalistic report about this steam crane for a model railway trade journal. I didn't get an extra fee for this either, I only get a small RU-vid fee ... but only if the viewers patiently endure the advertising placed by Google.

What I find impressive is that even the main hook has 8 parts of line as one would find in real life applications.

In 1:32 a lot can be reproduced very realistically

5 years later and still a super cool train crane! I wish I could buy it but I want to build it with Technic Lego with remote controls. Where can I find some schematics for the lifting cables? I don't need the exact schematic for this crane but for these Ardelt cranes in general. The smaller 57t crane has less cables. But how are the cables arranged and connected?? Please advise! Unfortunately I am not a train expert but I have just starting building train with Technic Lego and they drive very well and you can install motors for all kinds of functions. I will post some Technic Lego Train videos shortly.

I think there are many sources on the internet where you can see the ropes of steam cranes more clearly - for example, by doing a Google image search with these search terms: Google -> Bilder/Images -> "ardelt dampfkran antrieb" Ich denke, dass es im Internet viele Quellen gibt, in denen man die Seile der Dampfkräne deutlicher sehen kann - beispielsweise über eine Google-Bilder-Suche mit diesen Suchbegriffen.

@@PeterPernsteiner Thank you for the reply! I tried to search with "ardelt dampfkran antrieb" but unfortunately no clear drawing of how the cables are running. I have tried to find out before but I just can't find it. If you have a link to a certain internet site, that would be great. I have even looked at instruction manuals from model crane trains, but the cables are already installed and no drawing of how they are running. I know the basics of pulleys from school 30 years ago, so maybe I will just try out until it's good. The Lego Technic Trains that I am building are a bit special because Lego does not make Lego Technic trains. Lego does have the smaller trains but not big Technic trains. There are no Technic train wheels available so I have modified car wheels that are suitable for train tracks. My track width is 9 Lego studs so that is 7,2cm. My small diesel loc is around 40cm and 1KG and longer passenger train (NL Koploper 2 parts) is around 110cm / 4kg. With the Technic Lego from today almost anything is possible. I have even built a railway switch point only with Lego parts and with a remote. The switch point also has a rubber band spring so a train can from the other direction and not derail. I also made an Unimog that can drive on the train tracks with remote control. The rubber front wheels are guided by train wheels and works great. The little Unimog has a 9V battery and can pull a lot of wagons. Really funny to see! Thanks for the inspiration!

@@PeterPernsteiner Dear Peter, please have a look at the Krane Train I made from Technic Lego. It looks a little bit like your beautiful crane train. It's not completely the same of course but it is fully functional with remote control! I am curious what you think. The video I made was actually to show the cargo locomotives I made, but it also shows the crane train and also a heavy transport schnabel car. Enjoy the video! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-A8-2pwsKqPU.html At the end of the video a couple links to my other Technic Train videos!

@@legotechnictrains8999 Your crane with Lego Technic elements is really great and also your other models. And your idea with completely other tracks then at the Lego Trains also. The trackwidth is 56 mm as I have seen in your videos? If you add one more hole element, it will be 64 mm and so it will be exactly gauge 2. Gauge 2 used to be a little more present. In the meantime, however, this track width has fallen into oblivion. In this scale of 1:22.5, almost only narrow-gauge locomotives from LGB, Piko, Kiss, ... with gauge 2m (a gaugewidth of 45 mm (like Gauge 1) have remained.
