@@Afeeq1011 more like "hmm should I get the white ally or the black one - wait why is that one cheaper? ooo this ally has removable joycons, this one has a sliding screen... meh the first one is too bulky and the second ones too small. huh there's another black one, but this one has a blue sticker on it and everyone thinks its a hate crime to own it?"
@@J4rring that last sentence... damn, it hits way too hard. Some people are so butthurt about Intel trying to get in the handheld market that they despise ANYTHING with the blue sticker on it. Btw, while Zotac Zone looks most interesting to me (thanks to trackpads) I really don't mind the design of Claw 8+ - double colour looks really nice and premium!
If they can get the price decent/competitive its golden. Literally no one has been asking for those stupid high res screens on these mobile devices. 1080p 120hz Oled is perfect. Dual USB4 and a full length ssd. this this is actually perfect.
No Variable Refresh Rate for the 120Hz display absolutely kills it. 🤷 SOOOOOOO close, yet still so far away.... 😞 We need small form factor VRR capable OLED's SOOOOOO GOD DAMN BAD!!! That would be literally the PERFECT handheld gaming device display!
the 16gb ram is the flaw , windows alone sucks almost 8gb , than you get like 8-10gb left for the cpu and gpu to run games .. it needs at least 24gb of ram to make sure you get the best performance possible out of this apu
I'm honestly not too sure how beneficial a high refresh rate for heavier Games is, since these Handhelds aren't extremely powerful and will probably run most games on medium or low with around 30 - 48 FPS, maybe more, VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) would be a more killer way of investing into "Game-Comfortableness"
@@Lord_LindaThePhilosopher There are many reasons to be scared of that. Let's just hope this handheld comes with or gets SteamOS. That way we can be pretty sure Linux won't be spying us like Windows most likely does
2:30 Uhhh. No. Absolutely not. The last thing I want on my handheld gaming device is a webcam. Anyone bothering to daily drive it will have their own dedicated camera on USB hub, which tbh is probably going to be a much better image anyways.
teh steam deck track pads are one of the best and biggest feature that distinguishes it from other handheld pc's. im so surprised companies havent been using them more and i think its actually a pretty big deal that this has two
It might sound weird but handhelds have reignited my love for gaming. I was so obsessed with upgrading my PC all the time to get the best performance and visuals that I almost forgot that gaming can simply be fun.
Exactly the same here. I used to just play competitive online games at 1440p 240 FPS. The Steam Deck oled opened up a massive new world of gaming for it and my life is better for it. I feel like my mind is expanding thanks to the Deck lol. It's like my fondest memories of the PSP only so much better.
@@gdpiscopo Indeed, for me it's amazing not being confined to a desk chair in front of a desk anymore, so many more options. I never expected to love the Deck at all but I do.
just needs a portable gpu and you're all good, im using the onexplayer pro 2 with the onexgpu and its lovely and so much more convenient especially with my busy schedule
Zotac makes mini things a lot ton of mini nuc like pcs and even mini gpus compared to everyone else they have some of if not the smallest nvidia gpus around
i'm very happy zotac entered the PC handheld market. competition is lighting up. i used to be cynical of PC handhelds, but that completely changed when i got my legion go. i use it all the time now.
The UI is honestly my major concern when it comes to these. Do they have a custom interface? And what about steam integration? comparatively Small companies might not be able to support that device for long.
@@makisedrive3637 yes don't even consider windows hand helds because the standard windows ui sucks for hand held and they can't guarantee support for custom ui. Maybe if i didn't have a pc *and* a laptop. Maybe if I had to use one of these as a pc. I will probably buy a steam deck when they make a new one because it is an actual hand held with good ui. I also trust them and expect regular updates. those windows hand held just occupy a wird in between space in between pc and hand helds.
Still waiting for maybe _one of the big makers_ to finally form a partnership with Valve and actually give us a handheld with Steam OS 3 on it, just to see if they would at all. Lol.
@@Patrick-y4d1znot really the same. Would need to also follow the input form factor which honestly this specific device could with it's touch pads. Also a purpose built steam os build would work much better at customizing performance.
@@gotenks157 Yeah, it basically is the same. ChimeraOS is effectively SteamOS but open. And no, it doesn't work better at customising performance. Performance is from AMD drivers. Which would still apply to this.
@@jimbobcheezeburger2020 been awhile since I saw the vid so I forgot what the Zotac has so I’ll just list everything the steam deck has besides basic Xbox inputs: - capacitive joysticks (basically it can sense when your finger is resting upon one of the joysticks) - dual, pressure sensing, trackpads with haptic feedback - 4 programmable back buttons - gyro Obviously, all of this is greatly enhanced by the addition of Steam Input Software that let’s you customize the hell out of these controls. This is not unique to the steam deck as it’s simply a steam feature, but it gets special love when used on a steam deck obviously. For example, you can configure multiple leves of pressure on each trackpad activating different radial menus and basically have “infinite buttons” that way
@@jimbobcheezeburger2020 steam deck has 4 back buttons this has 2. Though this has the 2 joystick scroll wheel things and more front buttons. so depending on how well the the remapping program works (either steam input or their own) this may have more inputs then the steam deck
The biggest problem with these companies is how are they going to support their system in the long run. Look how legion go, it gets update very rarely and even the msi claw is already giving up on their first attempt and already planning to release a new version of the claw. That's why steam deck is still the king of handheld gaming 👑.
I'm pretty happy to see that more and more devices are getting good-to-great HDR performance. So many people were burnt on ''HDR-ready'' (basically) Tv's and monitors to the point that there's tens of thousands of post online saying ''I don't see it'' and ''HDR is nonsense'' that that stuff ruined the reputation of HDR like Google Cardboard (and Phone-) ruined VR for many people :p
I wish these things would get smaller tbh. It's a pain traveling with my steam deck in a bag because it's so big. Give me the Steam Deck Lite and I'll be set for a long time
And here I wanted a bigger one so I got a Legion Go, but that is the nice thing about more of the big names in the hardware scene developing their own handheld with different characteristics; different people with different needs and tastes will find the one who best adapts to them, the more competition with a wider range of characteristics the merrier. It would be a dull market if every single one of them were just carbon copies of the Steam Deck.
FINALLY!!! A product that rivals the ally in hardware but has all the buttons/trackpads like the deck! I been looking at the ally but feel like I would miss the decks trackpads for use with steam input in mmorpgs. Wanted an oled screen too this thing checks all the boxes for me ill be waiting for this release! and a camera to boot! Ive always wondered why these devices didnt come with these! This opens up the possibility of an ocular mouse in future iterations!
to be real i have no idea why some firms just throw gadgeds into devices "because they can" like that webcam, when people would most likely preffer lesser price with a simple yet effective package. Unless they planning on some Face recognition lock, which sounds excellent on such portable device with your sensitive accounts logged into it.
Webcams cost almost nothing and are included as a differentiator. If two devices are about the same price and you use a webcam a lot, they've spent $1.50 to buy you as a customer. Customer psychology is weird. People like comparing spec lists and will often prefer tech with more features even if they won't ever use those features.
Cameras of that size are produced by the millions each year for cellphone and laptop manufacturers, Zotac could just grab any internal frontal camera intended for cellphones out of the shelf and integrate it into their handheld with barely any extra costs compared to a camera-less version To add the camera probably will cost them a couple of dollars and change per unit by the end of the production runs of the Zotac Zone in a few years.
Those dual trackpads might actually make it a competitor to the Steam Deck. The dual trackpads on the Steam Deck have been instrumental in my ability to use Steam input to play games like "Dragon Age: Origins" that don't have any native controller support.
The masses want a steam deck 2 that they can connect a quest headset to, and be able to download VR games to play off of it. SDVR. Thats what the masses want… It would make VR even more portable.
Got mixed info on the power button being a sensor as well. PC World stated it was not a sensor and that the camera was intentended to be used for the quick unlock using face recognition.
If Zotac could boost the RAM to 24 or even 32 gigs, have options for more than a 512GB SSD, and possibly put in a bigger battery this would be a seriously awesome device.
i like the refpreshing of all the handleahds because its keeping general interest high. but i personally will be waiting for the next big jump in APU performance.
I hate that I like this. It’s basically everything everyone wants and if you really wanted to I’m sure this would be an amazing STEAM OS device. Edit: as long as they have good software comparing to the Ally and good device support.
Thats cool and all but your only gonna be getting an hour of playtime with this just 45 watts of battery, the ally x has double the battery and is cheaper.
I'm kind of hoping that they do a video comparing some of these handheld decks, they're coming out so fast, I'm having trouble keeping up with which one is which ;-;
Im gonna call it right now, that joystick dial is next level big brain, and will become a standard feature on at least gaming handhelds, if not controllers too. Think about how LONG that joystick design has existed, and someone just found a way to give it another input method.
Love the tech. But could definetely fit the vrr as well as a bigger battery, that screen will consume like crazy. Materials also look a bit cheap to me tho. Curious about the price tag
man im so glad steamdeck made the portable consoles mainstream again i know thw switch has been around for a while, but i think the steam deck truly gave fear to the big companies showing what others are capable to do in a portable small factor and not a high price cant wait to see everyone go back to handhelds
Definitely compelling! I'm still pretty happy with my first gen Deck but I hope this sector survives if/when the day comes I need a newer one to keep using. I really like the touchpads so I'm glad someone else is incorporating those.
Its really great to see that touchpads and OLED screens are coming to other handhelds. I love my Legion Go but the Steamdeck OLED is just something else
The one thing I need to know: Can the joysticks activate gyro at the touch? Ever since the Steam Deck introduced me to that, I've not been able to go back. If it does, I'm down. If it doesn't, I'll pass. Ultimately not a big deal, but I can no longer live without that feature.
Needs 24GB RAM ideally if it's coming out new and bigger battery, otherwise it's coming out as last gen, doesn't have anything majorly over the Steam Deck OLED and the other win handhelds are all getting refreshes already
Not bad, although I'm not sure anyone is going to trade in their current handheld for this one. It certainly does add a solid device to compete with the current offerings for new customers. I wonder when we will reach saturation of this segment of the market. Just how many people are out there looking for dedicated PC gaming handhelds?
All the other cool things aside, that dial around the analog stick is so ingenious. I would like that on an Xbox controller for volume control or sensitivity adjustments 200%
I love this and am thinking of buying a handheld but I don’t wanna spend 700 to 1000 or more on a device that’s controllers might break and I might not be able to replace them without spending hella and I’m thinking of the legion go but those fans are sooooo loudsdddddd
Oh my gosh...they did it. They FINALLY made a handheld where the joysticks and buttons are OFFSET, which means no bumping into the dumb right analog stick when playing Super Mario World on my 2024 gaming PC! 🤓 (Yes, I'm serious, haha)
That would be the perfect handheld with the latest efficient chip, an 80Wh battery like the Rog Ally X, and a larger 8” OLED 144Hz LTPO 3.0 screen. Anyway, I’m excited that the competition in the handheld space is becoming very intense.
