On a sunny Sunday the 10th of September, Steam Incorporated ran their annual "Daffodil Express" excursion to the Wairarapa behind Ja 1271 with assistance from Da's 1431 & 1410.
Recently Steam Incorporated have restored 3 new items of rolling stock, including a viewing carriage for passengers. This resulted in the train being a total of 16 carriages, the longest Steam Incorporated have done just using their own stock. The train dropped passengers off at Carterton for the Daffodil festival and carried on to Masterton for locals and to turn and service Ja 1271.
