Steam locomotives in Austria: Travel through time with the oldtimers in Carinthia 

It is always a very special journey back in time when a 100-year-old steam locomotive puffs through romantic Alpine valleys: In Carinthia, Austria's southernmost province, there is a gigantic technology museum where hundreds of historic vehicles such as locomotives, trams, buses and even entire ships are maintained and operated.

In addition to the museum, the "Nostalgia Railways in Carinthia" association also maintains various workshops. Without voluntary work, nothing would work here - in their free time, men and women with a passion for technology restore the imposing relics of times gone by, and have been doing so for over 30 years. They give their all to ensure that their nostalgic vehicles are ready for the season.
