Hello LBG, Ubi's practices are like daylight robbery, why no actions on them I do not understand. I too had had Crew 1. I completely agree with your rant.
I've stopped buying Ubisoft games to be fair. Completely agree on your thoughts on the matter. At this point in time, I feel its probably better to support the studios that are more grateful for the players and let us own the games we buy from them. Even with the big discounts on Ubisoft games, I'm not remotely tempted to buy them.
I'm glad you educate your audience about the shady practices of ubisoft (EA, Activision same thing). The sale is probably a panic reaction for their fallen stock prices (-45% in 3 months) and bad sales. I don't think they can remove the game if you buy it on steam but they can shut down servers of course. There is a massive petition in europe to stop those practices and make a new law.
Yeah lets see how if they actuallly mean it with the recent announcement that these games will have offline modes. But I want to see them give people Crew 1 back before I believe them.
So I did purchase Crew Bundle because they announced offline mode for both, otherwise it's a no-go for ubishit games. They learned their lessons but very late, these early measures could have saved Crew 1.
Ubi have stated that the Crew 2 is getting an offline mode so it can be played after delisting. I'm still not giving them a penny though, they took my money once and stole it so not a penny more from me. They're being investigated by the EU btw, that might explain the announcement of the offline mode.
Almost certainly. They dropped it to a $1. Once a bunch of people buy it they will show the game has 50k players on steam to the shareholders. The fact they only put the standard version on sale seems like a pr stunt than an actual sale.
Apart from their shady practises these companies really need to improve the user experience of their launchers.... I think the ubisoft launcher and EA app are some of the worst pieces of software i have ever used in my entire life...
Bought AC2 last year. Ac1 worked amazing because it launched directly on Steam. Ac2 on the other hand....Just wont let me open the damn game and keeps asking for a stupid cd key. Never again. F Ubi.
