Robin Nickell I noticed how Rabbit slowed her rocking back and forth when he said 'Fellas' as though just as offended as Upgrade. I found it amazing as well that Rabbit, also not being a "fella", responded to Upgrade's bragging on how she was built by basically saying it didn't matter how they looked.
@@enabylcrypta3185 I noticed that too! I don't think Rabbit once called Upgrade a girl, but instead went by "robot that looks like a girl" or something along that, sorta hinting at her identity years before coming out. Glad someone else pointed it out and that it wasn't just me!
These were the original four. Then upgrade left, shortly followed by The Jon. Hatchworth joined, and near the last few years that he was there Rabbit transitioned from male to female. So, at that time it was 2(two) men and 1(one) girl. Then Hatchworth left, and Zero joined. Currently they are still at 2(two) men and 1(one) woman. That is the robot lineup so far(by what I know of the canon, however, correct me if I got anything wrong. Hoped this helped!)
I love Rabbit. "Ok robot that looks like a girl." "Are we gonna play music or just shuffle around?" I found these fine folks a week ago. I'm already in love.
This was still the point in which they were doing character development and stuff. Even The Spine doesn't act the same as he does now. He's louder and more animated in this video than he is now. If she had stayed longer, I'm sure there would've been some pretty good character development going on !
larj97 but he’s still totally a dork, it’s like he inverted cuz now on the outside he seems cool and the normal one but on the inside he’s a total goofball and a dork
I love Jon's energy when he plays his guitar. Something about it is so fun to watch. Look at 4:47. He obviously gets very into the music. It's fun to watch people be passionate, I guess. I sure do miss him...
the leaving of the Jon was a mutual agreement, it wasn't that bunny or the Jon didn't like each other, or that they didn't agree on stuff, it just wasn't meant to be. it was a mutual agreement about his leaving, and it is a mutual agreement now on how mike and matt are gone. the main thing is to remember the good stuff and be happy with what they did together while they were still there.
From what I could gathered, The Jon began to have troubles to be present for shows and rehearsals. Apparently, he has a job and became a father around the same time. And we you think how much the band is asking, I think it was some kind of agreement that The Jon couldn't be in the band anymore because of his duties.
this is such an acid trip being able to hear Bunny singing those low notes. She's so different now! I'm so used to hearing her singing voice more high.
I feel that Upgrades voice is really nice, almost operatic. It, however, does not go well with masculine voices. Maybe if it was just Upgrade and the Spine singing, it would sound better because they have voices at the two extremes and would sound better together, I guess.
Shipping Moment 2,046: JON: You can stand next to Spine. I think he'd like that. SPINE: Good going Jon! UPGRADE: *Giggles and spins close to Spine* SPINE: OOOOH NO! RABBIT: *Stares at Uprade Angrily*
Every time I hear a version of this song I haven't heard before, I love it a little bit more...but I adore Rabbit's maniacal cackle at the end of the most recent version :3
I think that "waste of space" is more than a little harsh, but from what I've seen she does appear to be a bit superfluous. SPG has become a lot more refined over the years and Upgrade/Erin Burke's departure may or may not have something to do with that.
I hate my laugh and voice, in hindsight when I watch this now the tension between them and upgrade is almost palpable. They have all come so far and I'm so happy for them.
yeah, i agree. she seemed to be just tacked on. I watched the video twice, and covered her up for one of them and didn't really notice a change in experience.
not gonna lie i just saw this video about a week ago but ive always sung this song similar to how upgrade does in the bridge so at least i wasnt doing something wrong hahah
When they played this in Tucson, it was beautiful because everyone in the audience, old and young, sang along, and you felt the sound resonate through everything. Just perfect.
Wow, Do they have mics on their bodies and instruments? I know it's not the best recording situation, but are they on an amp somehow to come in so clear as this recording allows, or are they just able to be that loud, without instruments drowning out singing?
