This video was shot on the Coastal Trail at the Cabrillo National Monument on the Point Loma peninsula in San Diego, California. For those asking, it’s about a 30 minute drive from where we shot Honeybee. That location is at Sunset Cliffs. :)

Well, Naturally- I would assume it was trickery and sail away quickly before I lost myself completely to the beautiful spell that would surely enchant a mysterious surrender that sirens are known for.... Any day now, though, it would not be an escape from a mythical creature. And at that point, I imagine I would probably buy a ticket and watch The Two Cent Show!

I love the direction in this video. The quick cuts of similar movements when Spine is with his robot family and without them give room for interpretation, especially when we get to the end to see him strumming his guitar alone. I like to think that either he's standing there alone singing out to the sea imagining he's singing with his family, or he's been playing this song the entire time in the dark while reminiscing about singing with his family in contrast to times he still goes there to sing along, hoping he'll be with them. Either way, it's a lovely song with beautiful harmonies from Zero and Rabbit. I could listen to Spine sing all day.

"Just look, I swear you'll see, The steam still rises, From you and me" I turned thirty last year. Over ten years ago, I was introduced to Steam Powered Giraffe. Three decades, countless songs, hundreds of artists. But this was the song that graced my timeline today, and that I've had the honor to listen to. Music on this platform ten years ago was so different from how it is now. I'm glad Steam Powered Giraffe has managed to stay with us for the last ten years. The years passing me by have been making me homesick for people who aren't even in my life anymore. This song helped me hold on. Take care.

Today is the day that I began a 1-month sick leave from my job and started therapy. All because of the burn-out I got from doing the workload of three people at my job for the last 7 months (the company failed to hire 2 people to fill the open positions). Whilst still being yelled at for not doing it in the same time frame as 3 people would. This song made me shiver uncontrollably and cry my eyes out just now. It's okay, they're happy tears. I love SPG. 🤖🧡

This is so apropos for me right now, oddly enough. My hubby suffered heart and respiratory failure due to sleep apnea, he's only 54. There was minimal damage to his brain, because I called 911 super quickly. Right now though, he's dealing with memory issues and some other stuff. He's recovering right now in a nursing home environment and getting therapy. He DOES remember Steam Powered Giraffe though, even though he is a metal head at heart who used to play bass for a lot of bands he was in over the years, he does love himself some SPG! I hope one day after he recovers, he hears this song and maybe finds my comment, and knows how much he means to me.

I love how this very much feels like a continuation of Honeybee, intentional or not. From grieving and sorrow, to understanding that brighter days are ahead. Also I believe filmed in the same spot in San Diego Living in Sacramento, i wish i could see them live one day, or join them if i had the talent for it lol.

Damn, how is it that all of my favorite musicians are releasing such uplifting songs all around the same time I made a big change in my life I'd been dreaming of for over a decade? This song almost feels like a sequel to "Hot on The Trail," both in lyrics and sound...plus the solo shots bookending this music video of Spine standing in the dark with his guitar, seeming to call back to Hot on The Trail's video? Ya'll had me with "Honey Bee" waaay back when! I just watched it and then this video afterwards and I LOVE that you are still in San Diego doing music videos by the ocean! One critique is that you are less robotic-animated. You're movements are too smooth to be convincing enough that you're robotic. But the vocals and the harmony are AMAZING! So pure sounding, please keep doing what you're doing, it really is magic :)

Ah, thanks for the pinned comment. This whole video was reminding me of Honeybee, the first music video and song I'd seen from the band. Having another video shot in a nearby location is very cool, reminding me how much we've all changed over the years. I still have a little hand signed photo of the band from when I wrote y'all a letter for a class assignment at one point. I was the only one to actually get anything back, we each got to pick 'someone famous' to write to and I was quite fond of this little steam band so I wrote in, not expecting anything. Was quite happy to get anything back at all, let along a lil' hand signed picture card. Anyhow, love the new song and the video. Thanks for being yourselves.

I've heard people say that some things in life come to you when you need them most, not often when you search or yearn for them... I've been a shut in for the last 4 months and this song has me feeling as if I can overcome this. If nothing else, it's wonderful to see The Spine's motions have evolved to become somewhat captivating and the lyrics have really touched me. "it's a bold accusation to say one will never be okay" is inspired.

Somebody that my kids went to school with back in the day posted Honeybee so long ago and I fell in love with steam powered giraffe. Over the years life happened and I kind of got away from listening to them even though I have most of their cds. Cut to today and I'm watching critical role, and lo and behold there's an advertisement for steam Heist 2 in which they mentioned Steam Powered Giraffe on their show. I got so nostalgic it makes me cry.
