I love that chalmers asks him to say aurora borealis while in the window just because they haven’t yet done that particular thing and would take any opportunity to break the monotony
I remember playing audience anarchy on Vrchat and during one skit I kept adding the At this time of your and this time of day entirely at this location. I couldn't stop doing it and it was kind of hilarious. Forgot if the other people found it also funny
It's too bad the truck never gets there before the loop happens. If only Seymour would try calling the fire department immediately upon restarting they could possibly end all of this.
The only problem is that whatever entity made them suffer in this infinite loop made sure this is not possible and strict firetruck existence for no more then 1 frame per loop...
I love how Seymour goes “Superintendent, care to join me?” as he is going out the window, almost like he’s inviting Chalmers to go to Kristy Burger with him
@@blarg2429 a different approach toward reality, letting someone view our mental constructs like society and politics as tools rather than intrinsics. Nothing inherently mattering means that you can decide for yourself what matters. I've found that the law and rule of our society mostly align with what I want out of this world. At least to a degree.
@@TheTruepanther Yeah, but nihilism is when you're sad about it, broadly speaking. There's other terminology for taking that approach without being full of anguish.
"You mean we could have come into this house, sat at this table, and talked about steamed hams a dozen times already?" "A dozen, a hundred, it's impossible to tell."
"Well, Seymour, I've never heard anyone use the phrase AURORA BOREALIS ENTIRELY within your kitchen" "Aurora borealis?" Sjjdjsjd i adore this one it's very hilarious for a change
How I imagine it goes after a very large number of cycles : - Superintendant, I hope you're ready for fast food disguised as my own cooking - Yes, I should be... (Skinner ignores the oven, goes straight for Krusty Burger ; Chalmers walks in, says nothing). - Superintendant, "steamed hams". - Despite the fact that they're obviously grilled... - Yes! - I see. Seymour, your kitchen. - Yes. Eeh, I'm pooped! - Seymour, the house is on fire! - Yes, mother! - Well Seymour, we made it.
how i imagine it goes after an even larger number of cycles: “well seymour, hamburgers.” “yes!” *both of them walk into the house, chalmers sits down at the table and does nothing, seymour goes into the kitchen, ignores the oven and goes straight for krusty burger* “hamburgers!” “ehh…” *both of them eat the burgers in silence and then walk out* “seymour! the house-“ “yes!” “well seymour, more steamed hams.”
"Why, Seymour, more steamed hams?" "Yes! Mouthwatering." "Yes. I thought we were having." (fire crackling) "Good lord! Aurora borealis?" "No, superintendent, it's just the ruined roast." "Eeeh..." "Well Seymour, smoke coming out of your oven, I must say, steams a ham."
@@redfoxlol101 after an uncountably more cycles: They're just silent all the time, saying nothing and just speedrunning the loop. Maybe Seymour still cares to interrupt his mother, cuz the screams are annoying.
Sometimes I wonder if anyone considered doing one where Seymour is honest about the fire and the superintendent responds with “shouldn’t we get out of here then?” And then Seymour does the same yes from entirely within your kitchen
The AI generated scripts do that with Chalmers actually. He's quite responsible and wants to call the fire department right away, despite Skinners lies.
I like how Chalmers says "Well Seymour- ah- steamed hams?" at the start, like the knowledge and their old memories of the loop entered their minds right then.
The idea that every version of this meme is just a groundhog day scenario is really interesting. One day they decide to deliver their lines while singing feel good inc., the next theyre alphabetizing their words, the next one seymour never lies. Theyre just stuck and bored, and every meme is them fighting monotony.
This is an interesting concept, of two people being stuck in a time loop, presumably beginning with Chalmers' arrival and ending with his departure, and deciding to endlessly go through motions very similar to those they did on their first time through, most changes from loop to loop simply being comments on the precise sequence of actions they are repeating, save for when Chalmers asked that Skinner say Aurora Borealis Entirely Within His Kitchen.
Whilst realizing they're forever trapped in a never ending time loop of an unforgettable luncheon, they compromise with the fact that at least they have each other and will be well fed until the end of time.
As someone who have been watching Steamed hams videos for more than 6 years now I safely say that this one was very creative with the whole temporal looping idea. You just made every steamed hams video canon now.
Yeah it seems like he gains awareness after the doorbell, like in the first setup he was like "Well Seymour, I.--AH! steamed hams..." as if he just fully woke up into the loop.
The tragedy is that Chalmers knows Skinner is lying. Skinner knows that Chalmers knows. But he still can't admit the truth. Is it pride? Or is it that he'd rather cling to the familiar loop than face the uncertainty of a world that can change? You can feel the pain of Chalmers, hoping that his friend will finally move on from the charade. But he never does, and so they remain trapped.
I've watched a unhealthy amount of Steamed Ham takes in my time, and having just a really meta one where they both know what there in and just going thought the motions to get it over with is one of the funnier takes I've seen, and a really good one to watch once you've seen a bunch of these already.
This is so great! One of the most original concepts I’ve seen in the recent steamed hams renaissance. I’m actually kinda disappointed it didn’t continue for another few minutes 😅
"Oh I have HAD it with your directions Seymour! The smoke coming out of your oven, steamed hams despite the fact that they are obviously grilled" "Oh now I really think the burgers appearance..." "Make way for Aurora Borealis!"
missed opportunity for skinner to walk into the kitchen on the last loop and see a perfectly cooked roast or actual steamed hams and be genuinely surprised because the loop is broken
1:04 "Well Seymour I never heared anyone use the phrase AURORA BOREALIS?! Entirely within your kitchen." "Aurora borealis?" I love how confused Skinner sounds as Chalmers just walks out
i love how theyre settled into it. its just 2 people in a sea of nothing, and while Seymour takes nothing, including the loop, for granted, Chalmers is ready to move away from the loop in a very realistic way. he tries cutting Seymour off, annoying him, upsetting his loop, but Seymour knows Chalmers, and parries his inquiry without hesitation. he's the one who will escape the loop, but Chalmers will always reside in the place he can never leave.
I like that it's not even "but there's a loop" it's just "they know about the loop and stopped caring" as if it's already implied by the words steamed hams that a loop is involved
Someone make them address the Infinite loop of Luncheons, fantastic. Tbh I was hoping they break the cycle, but just talk it out at the door way like some Fallout quest is fine too.
So, they're both dead. Cursed to re-enact their last moments on Earth (not unlike Sisyphus's endless uphill cycle). You know, this Hellfire is quite similar to AURORA BOREALIS!!
I have to congratulate you for keeping the firetruck. Many miss this crucial detail. One point of criticism is that you did not add it at each end of a loop's iteration. Other than that - I had laughed several times. Good work!
