This is my dad fav clip EVER! He could sit in front of his PC, saw this clip then other youtube clips. Before log out, he always come back to this clip again. Missing you dad, I`ll see you again one day :`)
It is absoloutley amazing to see Steam working Freight trains, albeit specially set up ones on the main line in this modern age. :) Great filming mate :)
We pulled 100 empty coal cars with RDG 2102 about a month ago over here in the states. Then 50 loaded cars. They were test trains for the excursions coming up. Probably everyone in the world knows about it, but I wanted to reply anyway. Steam on freight today is amazing. The locomotives are obviously still up to the task.
In my childhood (1960s) I traveled with trains drawn by such steam coaches (locomotives) in my country, Romania. I loved them a lot. I miss those golden days ! ... ^___^ Thank you very much and all the best, with health and happiness, in peace ! Dinu, 59.
Dear @@cristinacristescu1173, our country is unique in the world. In England there is a museum of means of transport, as big as 3 football fields____🚂🚃🚃🚃______
In fact, dear Cristina ~ @@cristinacristescu1173, every country is unique in its own way. We cannot compare Romania with Germany or India. I love India.
The steam train was an evolution in engineering and to see these trains so well preserved today is quite amazing, considering that many got destroyed during WW2
A full out race to somewhere. Gotta love the tone of that steam whistle and the thundering. chuff, chuff, chuff of the engine as it ascends a grads with a titanic load. Truly amazing machines from a bygone era. Live steam and mechanical advantage for all to hear and see.
I am a fan of the steam locos. I always pray and wish the steam locos may brought back into regular service in every nation.! Their chucking sounds are the most beautiful ruthms I ever heard the sound of the nature.
I wouldn’t mind seeing another articulated steamer resurrected but you’ll never see them in regular service again. The world is running out of freshwater at an alarming rate and steam locomotives use a whole lot of freshwater. Now if you could come up with a cheap way to desalinate seawater then by all means bring them back.
Almost 40 years ago while on vacation in Ireland I picked up a local rail fan magazine that had drawings of the German 2 10 0 's. I have always been a steam fan and always wished to see them. Thank you for the video and now I know we will have to make a trip to Germany. Again thankyou so much!
There's a DVD out there called the rock trains. The DVD shows emergency revenue steam freaght trains as they battle steep grades to repair a washed out section of rail line. The line is owned by a tourist railroad and 2 steam locomotives were trucked to the cut off section to keep the tourist trains running. When the work needed to be done to reconnect the line, the steam locomotives already there were used. I've not seen the DVD but the add for it shows that the film is impressive!!
This was the best of the European steam videos I have seen so far on RU-vid. Fantastic camera shots. Great camera work. Truly a master piece of craftmanship in it's fineest hour.
I especially appreciate the close-ups of the running gear from 5:24 to 7:00. That little fella fixing his bike seems dumbfounded by the sight of this beautiful machine.
Love the Destinctive German Whistle on these legends of German Railways.💗❤💗❤ Wünderbar Video who ever Filmed this Well done .Didn't expect to see an Electric locomotive on the last clip That was like oh no ,And a Diesel on the one Going through a quaint Village ,Beautiful Countries Germany,Austria and Switzerland for videos like this.
Thanks for your videos on Steam Trains. It's nothing like the engineering and fabrication by engineers, machinest who build these locomotives that are still running today. Coal & Water Makes Steam To Create Power. It's Amazing. God Speed These Locomotives. Sincerely Mr T., American Train Lover. From Virginia.
Really it was golden period steam engine age in European countries like a dream but true . Maintenance of engines , condition ,power and speed is remarkable. Good shoot of video is knowledgeable and creates interest of golden era steam age of International railways old technologies. Great.
I am very happy with railway engine it's part of my life This is my childhood also youth and now old age I am in love with this truth, close to whom I have taken my home Why can't I live there now because of the government's blessings but You will stay so close, at least you can hear its huge My childhood, youth and old age just by listening to Yogesh's voice i remember that i grew up in ac hi my railway I salute the railways
I like the whistle on the one at 2:30 to 4:20 and at the 8 minute mark. I'm always surprised at how delicate looking the connecting rods on a lot of European steam engines appear to be. Excellent video! Great camera work and super pacing shots.
Epic, how they struggle up the ramps! These archaic beauties made us mobile and defined the state of the art for over 100 years. Some of them had servicelives of 80 years and more.
I have designed and build modern day locomotives for more than 35 years for General motors Diesel in Ontario Canada. But I still fall in love with them old dream engines
Ya ✅ It's great design,. . . I really enjoy looks how its work. ie; moving parts - eccentric & expansion rods. + " union link" . * All these parts work harmonicly ,. thus makes this engine look so great. 🚂
I'd love to see preservation groups from around the world hold an annual international steam gala, with the best locos from their respective countries all together.
@AngelsandArachnids - Listen to the whistle on the "UP Big Boy 4014 leaving Gurdon AR" if you really want to hear a haunting sound!! No comparison to any Euro steam whistles! Then again, they are all great sounds!
Kudos for the great sights and sounds. At 4:34 the "cho cho" sound is very pronounced. To have a moving camera along side the drive mechanism lets us enjoy those moving parts much longer than the typical drive-by video. And high definition at that! Truly fascinating.
THIS IS AN EXCELLENT VIDEO! THE SCENE WHERE TWO TRAINS ARE SIDE BY SIDE UP THE HILL REMINDS ME OF THE VIDEO OF N& W 611 AND N&W 1218 wERE PULLING TWO PASSENGER TRAINS UP HILL AT SPEED! KEEP THEM ROLLING BROTHERS!! 👍👍
Fantastic to see those mechanical beasts doing their work. Pity though that most big engines in the Netherlands are not Dutch but German. In Limburg there is a Pretty Swedish Engine, but it would be really special if we had a running 3700. I road along with the 3737 Tilburg-Baarler-Hertog long ago.
So very beautiful and a sight to see. Goes to Show they were made to last it really is a shame that so many of them are sitting and rotting or they are in the museum you never see them anymore out on the main line. It's just really amazing I've found so many people love them and they always bring the crowd in to marvel at the beauty
If we disregard the polluting side that we didn't care about at the time, they are formidable machines for travelling, for going back in time, these machines have a soul, a life, they blow, they breathe, they shout, they suffer, but what power they give off and what beauty for these mechanical gems, our current trains are much faster, but they don't have as much charm !
