Someone pointed out that Mary's smile stays just as big as before she's still just as happy for Stede and I always notice it when I watch the scene now and it makes me so fucking happy

That’s why I love Mary so much, we are made to believe she’s pissed at him for leaving based on stedes guilt manifesting into her in episode 4 but instead we see she’s more upset he came back. We get to see a different Mary then we expect and it’s great to see her help Stede and support him
@@fairieemy It’s also SO REFRESHING to not see the tired old “wife is a resentful bitch” trope. She’s a smart, accomplished artist who is good to her kids and her loved ones. Turns out Stede is one of those loved ones, just not in the way we all may have expected. Damn, this show really got me. 🥲🥰

Finally a comp that doesn’t pretend episode 10 never happened. You might not like it but it’s so crucial and definitely full of plenty of wonderful scenes. I love how this edit appreciates that much at the end.
I love episode 10 so much. It’s heartbreaking to see how Ed’s arc turns out at the end, but Stede’s is the complete opposite. Seeing him at the end realizing his love and going out with confidence is one of my favorite things. I’m so glad you enjoyed the video too

5:48 The scene with the telescope is when I started REALLY headcanoning that's Stede is autistic. "Trust me, Cap'n, you gotta take your mind off them for a bit." "They're the furthest thing FROM my mind; that's why I've got the telescope." "Long night?" "I don't know." So many of his conversations with Ed read as two neurodiverse people explaining stuff to each other.

I remember i watched this show cuz i thought it was funny but then dropped it around episode 3 since i was busy- and i saw this video being like "aw yea ship it" not really expecting much BUT THEN WHEN I SAW THAT THEY ACTUALLY KISSED i IMMEDIATELY went to watch the rest of it because i was so shocked and happy that it not another show gaslighting us into thinking somethings gona happen but then bothing ever does Another thing i love is that they never hint or even tag the show and LGBTQ+ and i find this really funny because my homophobic dad watched the whole thing and loved it but then got mad at the kiss- because of that ive been boasting to them how much i love the show and how theres gona be a second season❤❤

That whole Passive Aggression scene - both Stede doing it for Ed and Ed's touched reaction to Stede doing it for him...I just LOVE IT so much!!!...And then they gave us the "You wear fine things well" scene and that whole episode was like a Gay Buffet for me:P
Look at Rhys’ arms in Ed’s get-up. Everyone calls him fat when they pick on him, but he’s just covered in layers of fabric. He’s actually pretty damn fit. I hope we get to see it more in Season 2.
@@fairieemy I hope he keeps the style of outfit he has on in the finale; when he pulls his rowboat out to sea. He looks so much more relaxed and confident in it. If he still fancies a fine fabric he can always add some color and flare, but keep it softer and less suffocating. Let’s hope Ed saved the auxiliary wardrobe. I just know Stede…and his crew…are going to miss the books so much.
I agree! I’d love for him to have looser fitting shirts and pants but maybe a fun waistcoat and accessories. I’m definitely a believer that the wardrobe is still intact and even though they can’t read I can imagine them upset they had to ruin his books
@@fairieemy Based on the scene, I think it’s safe to say only Izzy would’ve enjoyed that. Ed is very bad at feelings, and he clearly feels things intensely. He’s heartbroken and angry, but I know he regrets (or will) what he’s done. I could totally see Stede with one or more earrings, some colorful fabric tied as a sash or sewn into a waistcoat, maybe something to tie his (hopefully longer) hair back. God, I hope we see Ed switch up his look a little too, once we make it through the pain of reconciliation and they start to trust each other again. Oh, I can’t wait for season 2!!!
I just now realized that I named this stray dog Ed that I've been caring for😂 It's hilarious because the dog is silver and black like Edward and is very scruffy 😂 (I actually named the dog Ed from the hyena on the Lion King because he literally looks like a hyena)
The only thing I don't like about OFMD is that it's true to its source. Which means both Blackbeard and Bonnet are likely to die, as they did in real life 😢
The creator himself has said a few times that he isn’t really going for historical accuracy so I think they will probably just have Ed fake his death too
