The AI in this one uses planes very often. If they attack with 1 unit group they usually bring planes, and they do have a few cluster bombers

I literally just finished a (failed) run of this as germans. Good luck with that river city, i held it under constant assault for a decent few turns before I just plain ran out of units

I would recommend getting the is 2s and isu 152s since there are 3 units with access to tigers and a unit of panthers later.

I think you should call in tanks/armored to push on the 2 roads at bottom and the top, and hammer the middle with infantry. I suggest pushing on (ie making another glorious surround). The snippets at the beginning (and history) suggests that there are little stands in your way. The only problem would be parts (small pockets) of elite troops. Hammer them with Air force would do the work.

is that 180mm of penetration from a 37mm gun?

It has a rocket like the Panzerschreck that it can mount and fire from the end of the gun. It has limited range though.

Am finding the German campaign a lot easier than playing as the Russians just because of defences n exploiting the ai. The arty is getting on my nerves. And when am playing as the Russians in the first campaign am having real problems spotting enemy units. Seems am always stumbling into them even though have tanks my infantry take losses before my tanks can destroy the mgs etc. And yep am using snipers...I don't get it. G luck in the Campaign!
