If a battalion goes below 30% depletion it is broken up and ceases being a unit on the map, remaining units do get transferred to other units i think. Also that wasn’t a recon rgt that got destroyed, it was so tiny it was staffel/company sized. Totally worth sacrificing to kill that many IL2s, LAGs and LA5s. We know how killy they are, especially vs tanks

The IL2s were designed to be ground attack aircraft, so the engine and cockpit area of each aircraft was armoured, which provided extra protection against fighters as well. The rear facing gunner made life more problematic for German fighter pilots as well.

The main reason you'd do it is so they can direct fire if I'm not microing them for long range engagments.

@@VulcanHDGaming Fair. If I'm bringing arty regiments I often just put them under AI control. Probably the arm that the AI is best at handling.

I'm happy to see your ground forces took care of themselfes for the most part. This could have been a completely different battle if they had deployed 2 rifle devisions and 1 air detachment instead of the 1 rifle devision and 2 air detachements. Pitty so many big guns were lost.

Great to see you starting the Axis campaign, just a thought maybe when using arty place in farther back to make the Soviets attack planes fight closer to your air spawn? I have been waiting for this series.

If you want to go on the offensive, take your recon unit at the top of the map into the Soviet airfield area for a cheese win in a handful of turns.

@@maxkennedy8075 When you attack the airfield units on the Orsha campaign it surrounds the entire Soviet army (or it did - perhaps Eugen have patched it out - been a month or more since I tried this).

I can't remember. Does height of terrain, like being on a hill, benefit your sightlines and tire out soldiers running up it? Like Graviteam games?

Love the game, and your channel, but those BF109 G-2s, and G-8s would've decimated those recon aircraft, and IL-2s. No doubt about that as they're not even in the same league when it comes to air combat. There's a reason the Soviets took such high air losses on the Eastern Front with aces such as Erich Hartmann achieving 352 air to air victories. 350 of those were Soviet, and 2 Americans. Plus, the Soviets lost 10.5K IL-2s during the war. The La-5 is another story as far as being an easy target goes. Nonetheless, I hope to keep seeing these videos because they're great!

Stop talking this naz1 bullsh1t about unbeatable naz1 aces. All they wictories wasv in the early stage of war. And There they were in the summer of 1944? Lol. Soviets have full air superiority in operation Bagration. And Hartmann get m0st of his kills not in dogfights with other fighters , but in free hunting . Thats whole difrent story. You can get many personal kills , but you dont help boys dont below on the field.

@@dmitrizorkin3851 I'm not a nazi sympathizer. At all. I'm just saying, and you can see it in the video that the Soviet air is way too OP. It's a bug, and well known one, but might have been fixed since. I'm not saying the Germans won all the time, but this bug makes their aircraft do nothing to the Soviet aircraft, and in terms of gameplay makes the German aircraft worthless.

Found the axis campaign easier as A.I attacks same places mostly n u funnel them into killzones. Plus bringing air force whenever poss. (Mostly they attacked my fortified infantry n bunkers with say stukas does the rest. Can be annoying if you have no AA n they have bombers).

The proper way to write Latin numerals is how you correctly described it, but for some reason the historical German army used to write them as it is portrayed ingame. Very triggering I know, but the people to complain to are the German army staff.

You can't have more than three in the game. You can chose between planes, artillery, infantry , tanks, anti tank or Anti air. But only three of those. Its ridiculous if you ask me and find no enjoyment from the campaigns.
