Hey Stealth I hope these would help you through SD2. 1. In the deployment phase, put down your units in a straight line on the road so they would not clutter up going to their designated positions. 2. Spend your points every tick so you would always put pressure on your opponent. 3. Russian infantry is op and not easily stunned when in light and thick forests. Especially in buildings. 4. Speaking of Russian inf, squads with lots of ppsh and flamethrowers will always win against german inf. So try to engage them from mid to close range, like shock units. 5. If you can, accompany them with a leader unit. 6. Your artillery tab is a bit lacking. Try to mix mortars for stunning and blowing units up that your units are engaging and howitzers for counter battery, also for occasional use on shelling units. 7. Put your artys in the back and spread them a bit so they will not be counter baterried easily. Moving them to a diff position every salvo (3 to 4) will make it harder for your opponent to spot them. 7. If you're engagement in a certain area is being bogged down try to probe somewhere else within your vicinity and push there so as to maximize your force deployment. 8. Try to watch some other channels like SaucyNetwork and VulcanHD maybe? Their videos on conquests and breakthroughs really helped me play better and they also have deck building previews so that might also help on your own. Anyway Stealth, I will wait for your future uploads on SD2. Your great on Wargame and you will be here too.

I like all your points but I want to add a caveat to number 2. Pressuring the Opponent is essential, initiative wins matches, but you don't always need all your units to apply sufficient pressure.What I'm getting at is that you should always try to spend your income, but maybe not deploy everything at the front just yet, wait for the perfect opportunity and make the enemy underestimate you. Starting in B phase, I like to keep a mobile tank squad in reserve while some of my tanks test the enemy. Should they fail hard, simply deploy the reserve squad somewhere else. If you always commit everything in a push you will throw matches at some point, counterattacks are vicious in this game. This will also have the added bonus of stalling pretty much any breakthrough. Seriously try defense in depth, I don't loose matches to breakthroughs anymore unless I play against Gonzo, now it's all about seizing early ground and grinding the enemy down. Of course this is very situational and there will be games where you have to use every last point to hold on, but if you feel comfortably ahead, play it safe and smother the enemy in a big and well prepared push instead of bleeding out against a proficient ambusher.

Not always true about every tick because you can save $$$ for planes or AA gun. I had lot of times when I had to wait minute to get AA gun while enemy was freely strafing me.

@@izvarzone If you watched Stealths play, he forgot to spend his 800 points. Thats what I am pointing out. Prioritizing some units is good but underspending when you need to stall and counter push is not.

You need to use more commanders man, its the key with this game, your units don't surrender when stunned and you can hit the fall back button to get them out of there. was a good watch tho man

A couple of tips here: 1) watch your replays and how the frontline moves. "pinned down" units do not contribute to moving/holding the line. 2) Supporting units is the only way to gain ground. Infantry rushes like in RD will rarely hold ground unless they have supporting fire units behind them. 3) The best way I have found to gain ground is to harden your position, weather the storm, use arty/air to panic the enemy units and advance. Tanks will not fire while under the "falling back" debuff. 4) Anti-tank rifle teams can harass "real tanks" from the flanks but that is about it. Treat them more like a sniper team to knock out transport/logistics units trying to get to the front.
@matthieutankol2681
@matthieutankol2681 5 лет назад
To add to the deployment comments (place your units on roads, fastest transports in front), there is a better way to give orders than one unit at a time. 1) Select all the units on a given road 2) Give them all an order to go wherever you want that AT gun (it's an example) 3) De-select the AT gun with a shift click 4) Give them all an order to go wherever you want that HMG team 5) De-select the HMG team with a shift click 6) You get the idea Means you don't have to scroll back and forth AND you don't forget any unit
@UnHellequined
@UnHellequined 5 лет назад
Stealth, the unit you are calling a recoilless rifle is actually just an anti-tank rifle. They were mostly an interwar and early war war weapon and were basically just very large, powerful rifles in larger cartridges from 0.50 cal range up to 20 mm. They were sufficient to pierce tanks right up to the start of the war, and then very quickly could no longer pierce anything considered a main tank as armour thickness increased. Some nations still liked them for attacking lighter vehicles, and some of the 20mm anti-tank rifles could fire small HE charges. The PTRS-41 itself was in 14.5x114mm. So in modern terms think anti-material rifle rather than a recoilless launcher.

You are always so calm in your videos. I like your attitude a lot and I do agree with your point of view as well. Makes me think that I do get discouraged when I do bad in games and life when I fail, not often but sometimes and it isn't the right attitude. One should know how to learn from failures instead of looking for an easy win and playing games that provide instant gratification like so many games theses days. Thank you for the video :)

Well done 1st match was fun to watch. You did good arty stike and air play. GOOd idea is to zoom out a bit to get better overwiev whats happening around also you could use some phase c inf strelki dp they have at rifle so u can trow support at rifle away. The vallentine u could switch to t34 85 comander tank its faster and can do he. The leader in arty tab is like any ther leader all leaders have radio wich makes your arty shoot faster and more accurate if you shoot inside the zone where u have leader about 1500-2000m range. Good idea is to have 3 recon units at start 1 mid rest to flanks. Maxim mg suck the sg mg is better range. Try out heavy mortars they rock.

Unlike in wargame it appears that it is quite possible to conduct a proper reverse slope defense. You need to deploy spotters and take advantage of the longer ranges. Also Counterbattery is a must.

The comments in this video are excellent I will add that you need to deploy a healthy spread of recon as I notice it was somewhat lacking which could have given you valuable intel where to send strikes or sneaky AT crews. The second thing is you sort of took the brute force approach which is fine at times esp with the Soviets, but some supportive fire or better yet some smoke could have given your troops a chance to setup in a better position as you advance in. Great job
@mrbastone1992
@mrbastone1992 5 лет назад
Also during your deck adjustment, the Avtomatchiki are assault troops excellent for CQC in towns or forest. The AP icon you see on the troops indicates that it is CAPABLE of doing AT work but it is more important to look at their equipment. They are armed with a full suite of SMGs and have an AT grenade so their range is limited, don't expect miracles against a heavier tank. The SMGs however will mow down troops quite well however.
@mrbastone1992

Also, a benefit of leader units in various tabs, such as the Artillery tab is it frees up Activation Points and slots in other tabs. So maybe bring leaders in Support or Artillery in order to bring more dedicated frontline troops in Infantry as an example. The leader in the Artillery tab does not do anything specifically related to Artillery.

u need to "link up" your command chain using officer unit in support tag, that will make your leader provide two star instead of one. click a leader unit, if it shows a circle and a dotted line that means they lost contact with the officer due to distant. a leader can relay the communication line to other leaders too far away from your "officer" the "leader" in arty tag acts like normal inf leader as far as i know, just put them in front line like other leader units

goog thing in SD II that cap points. bad thing still that the frontline gives aways you position for flanking units. but i have to say i never played it, so i am not sure about that. but defnitly II. seems nicer than I.. i wil lgive it a shot when its bit cheaper. GG

From what I've gathered they move to a position close to the frontline and call in off-map arty. Those guys are very powerful, but the spotter is weak by comparison.

They have radios and provide corrected shot to on-map indirect fire units (motors, rockets). Unlike WGRD, in WW2, every unit didn't have access to radio communication. If you don't have a radio, you can't have corrected shot.

Need to remember you were not playing tactical wargame, because at the beginning of the match when you are struggling at the tree line, you have upwards of 700 pts for a few mins of battle time. That's 700 pts of equipment you could have used to either increase your defence, or if you wish to push your offense. Either way it would have been to your benefit to spend those points, regardless of their use. It is a case that is more unique to SD, because in wargame there are serious benefits to sometimes bank on points, whereas here movement is slower and distance longer so entrenching your position and spending points to fill and secure your lines is key. It had the same problem when transitioning from wargame to SD, the way in which you spend.

A bit of advice. If your learning the game, your total K/D ratio is not significant compared to looking at what units did well and what groups didn't do well. You need to understand how the unit was used and why it succeeded or failed. It amazes me how people get fixated on the K/D ratio and units paying for themselves. All of that is irrelevant when none of it factored into the winning condition. If your AT units are assigned to hold a ridge and cut a reinforcement road, the amount of kills/points achieved means nothing if they fail to maintain the ridge and reinforcements reach the front. If your motors and Arty can smoke and suppress in support a successful push they have paid for themselves and their K/D is irrelevant. Just my 2 cents.

he stealth, i am sorry but this video is a bit full of bullshit in my honest opinion. you have no reason to talk like that about yourself, it was your first game and you did commendable! you played the objective, didn't panic and tried to adapt everytime you could. even if you did feed, so what? game mode was objective based and feeding would only be historical accurate for the russians. even if you did lose, so what? you learned something for next game. you are always trying to improve yourself so u don't let the team down, i find that very commendable. when i started playing WG red dragon, i played on of my first real matches with you. i knew i was going to underperform, but you said something: u can't win them all, as long as you learn you still win something. be more positive man! and nice game ;)
