Honestly their similarities are mostly thanks to being part of that women’s melodramady sub genre that was really popular in the 80’s and 90’s

I watched this when it first came out. I was excited to see that they did this remake. Because I am a fan of pretty much every actress in this film. I didn't really care for it when I first watched it then either. I too didn't feel as though it was as good as the original. I got sad when I discovered this movie is based on a true story. I hadn't realized it prior. Sure we are all entitled to our own opinion. But you can be open and honest about something without choosing to be rude, obnoxious, and distasteful. Some of these comments are just flat out rude, mean, and unnecessary. I believe they wanted to do the movie as a way to show how much they respected the original cast. No one is good at everything and at least they went for it. More often then not the ones who are most critical won't even try to do anything out of their comfort zone at all. They are satisfied with being mediocre but yeah. You all have a blessed day, weekend, and remainder of the year in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ of NAZARETH. THE NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES. AMEN.
