The Pittsburgh Steelers may have lost their preseason finale against the Detroit Lions, but their offense showed the right signs of progress. Christopher Carter breaks down what was to like from Russell Wilson and Justin Fields in Arthur smith's offense.
Also, why do Nick Herbig and Keeanu Benton look ready to lead a defensive revolution for the Steelers' younger players? Both were regularly in the backfield throughout the preseason and look like promising young studs for the future of the defense.
Finally, Chris breaks down his initial thoughts on Zach Frazier and Broderick Jones and where they are just two weeks before the Steelers play their season opener against the Atlanta Falcons.

Y’all, Russ never hit a cliff. He was leading the league in passing when he suffered his hand injury in 2021, went to Denver and had a horrific year because his coach was the worst in NFL history, his team was injured, and he was injured. In 2023, he bounced back! *Here are Russ’s 2023 numbers (in 15 games, not 17).* 3,070 Yards (3,479 over 17 games) 26 TDs (29.46 over 17 games) 3 Rush TDs (3.4 over 17 games) 341 Rush Yards (386 over 17 games) 8 INTs (9 over 17 games) 66.4% Complete 78.8% Adjusted Complete Rate. 98 Passer Rating *Russ’s 2023 Rankings:* 1st in Fourth Qtr comebacks (4) 1st in Game-Winning Drives (4) 2nd in Adj. He completed six passes that flew 40+ air yards past the original line of scrimmage (for 301 yards), good for #1 in the league. Four of those six went for TDs, and the two that didn’t were attributed as drops by the targeted receivers. Russ attempted 16 such passes, and 10 were deemed on target by SIS. Of those 16 attempts, not a single one resulted in an interception. Russ had one of the league’s top deep-ball passer ratings, had one of the highest season-long 4th quarter passer ratings, and led the league in red zone efficiency for half the season. He also rushed for 341 yards in 15 games, which is the equivalent of 386 yards over 17 games, or 220%+ times the rush yards of the average NFL QB. That was with Sean Payton suppressing his numbers. Russ is still capable of rushing for 400-500 yards. That’s ELITE! You cannot be washed and do these things. He also had 4 of the top-5 least probable completions and led the Broncos to a #1 red zone performance rating for half the season. A comparison between Russ and JF: *PASSING* Completions: Russ 297, JF 227 Attempts: Russ 447, JF 370 Complete%: Russ 66.4%, JF 61.4% Yards: Russ 3,070, JF 2,562 Yds/Attempt: Russ 6.9, JF 6.9 TDs: Russ 26, JF 16 INT: Russ 8, JF 9 TD-INT Ratio: Russ 3:1, JF 1.9:1 Sacked: Russ 45, JF 44 *RUSHING* Attempts: Russ 80, JF 124 Yards: Russ 341, JF 657 Yds/Att: Russ 4.3, JF 5.3 Long: Russ 21, JF 39 20+: Russ 2, JF 5 TD: Russ 3, JF 4 *SO, QUIT TRYING TO PREMATURELY RETIRE HIM. This is an overreaction by Chris. The defense did what they were supposed to do against lesser talent. Not sold on Herbig yet bc of his size and bc he didn't show up in the Bills playoff game when he had his opportunities. I hope I'm wrong about Herbig but I don't see him being this great OLB, I can see him being capable and a solid player to have for the future but not a definitive starter. Broderick is injured and the Steelers are messing this poor kids career by playing him. Broderick should sit and get whatever it is that is bothering him resolved and let Moore and Troy handle the line in his absence.

Trash? Says who? Russ never hit a cliff. Completion Rate (78.8%)* 2nd in TD% (5.9) 4th in Completion Differentials 5th in TD-INT Ratio (26:8) 7th in Passer Rating (98.0) 8th in Rushing (341 yards in 15 games) 9th in TDs (26) 9th in INT Rate (1.8) 10th in INTs among qualified QBs (8) 11th in Completion% (66.4%) According to Sports Info Solutions (SIS), Russ’s arm is as deadly as ever! BECAUSE HE STILL HAS 4-5 GOOD YEARS OF FOOTBALL IN HIM!*

@@John-xf4wp: He will do even better than that. Russ could easily have had 4,000+ yards and 40 TDs last year. Sean Payton was sabotaging him. Russ is going to torch tf out of Denver. Watch!
