Everyone has their strengths & weaknesses. Art has his gifts like all the SteelHouse. He may be a run guy but he has a sweet spot working with talent & especially QBs. I'll bet everybody sets petty differences aside for the '24 '25 Championship with rings all around Yall. OWNER'S ORDERS Top to Bottom
I'm so glad you brought up my boy big 0!! I grew up in Ga as a UGA fan and converted steelers fan when I moved to PGH 3 years ago. My first jersey was Darnells. I could not for the life of me figure out WHY they weren't utilizing that BEAST of a weapon like they did at UGA. Blocking, he's a brick wall. Receiving, he's a giraffe that steps over every body. Darnell is an absolute UNIT and I'm glad to have his jersey
NOW/Today........ "This offense looks different, feels different" RHYMES ALOT with Last year at this time........"DID ya see Kenny Pickett in Preseason? #5 drives 5 TD's"
Agreed bc honestly he turned Henry into wat he is now an after he left titans they haven't really been the same. Henry still a beast but he hasn't Been playing like he was when he had a. Smith. Najee an warren bout to cook teams an open it up for gp an pat
I wouldn’t be upset or surprised if Dan Moore started at LT and Broderick Jones at RT to start the season. Troy is a rookie and may need a few weeks to get acclimated. Just like Broderick last season.
Maybe one of the reasons the offense was horrendous last year was that we were always one short on offense (Washington) that the def had to cover. That allowed double coverage on Pickens. Where was Tomlin in this stupid decision on offense?
Sitting back watching... just like he did when they played the Bills with Duck Hodges where they put the game on his shoulders with 38 passing attempts and only 13 rushes by the RBs. 4 INTs later, they lost 10-13 after leading for most of the game and it was well before Allen popped. Was that the game plan Tomlin signed off on or was that a rogue Randy the OC and Tomlin was helplessly watching? Or both? The anecdotal (though there are many examples) Bills game is just to show that the issues game be game to game or a season long philosophy, either way, the decisions to do something and the lack of adjustments to mitigate such decisions have both been poor.
My guess is everyone's offense looks great.......during OTAs. I think Canada's problem as OC came as a play caller and making adjustments. As far as that goes, Arthur Smith is a proven commodity.
I will say this....ANY coordinator after Canada is an upgrade. I don't think he knew what the hell he was doing and should have never been giving that job, guess he's good at interviews. Also, Kenny Pickett as a starting QB did not help either and he was a mistake and a wasted 1st round pick and the Steelers know it and are definitely trying to fix that base on the last two season with their draft and the signings of vets (FINALLY) that are proven and can flat out play football and stop being so damn cheap.... but want to win Superbowls, impossible!!!!!!! The Rooneys has always been cheap and base past "Lightening in the bottle" draft picks that allowed them to win SBs in the pass, but everything changes, and they got left behind thinking they had the antidote to win without talent, and it did work longer than it should have, but NOT in todays NFL, sorry!!!!
@@ericpatterson5645 - difficult to say the Rooney’s have been cheap when they spend their cap space year after year. There’s also plenty of data to show the best recipe for SB success is a talented QB on a cheap deal using that cap flexibility for creating a loaded roster. They have been cheap for assistant coaches for a long time but they spend all they can on players. Yes, the KP draft was a huge reach that, predictably, didn’t pay off and Canada was a setback as well.
@@mike2687 They spent their cap space because majority of their money was being held hostage by Ben for a decade, even when he got old and couldn't move, they did no renegotiate his contract to help put people around him to block for him! They only could afford to pay, at the time, a few other players, maybe one or two and in turn, let a lot of good players walk, especially in the secondary. Also, they use to never shop for free agents, proven free agents that is, to help them win, but always wanted to win!! Got to have talent and you will have to pay for that talent!!!! Najee is a good example, he did what he was drafted to do, WITHOUT talent blocking for him and yet, they can't compensate a man who has rush for a 1000 yards every year he has been there with......no talented QB or Line!
@@mike2687 I assume he's talking about the Rooney's don't spend on the lastest equipment or updating the Facility and not hiring a lot of medical and Assistant staff because the Facility is Small and their sharing it with the panthers
I remember draft night when they got Broderick I thought...."why'd they draft this chucklehead, he's going to be an ego problem"......I couldn't have been more wrong. He's impressed me more and more, with each interview he impresses me with how mature and intelligent he is.....never been this happy to be so dramatically wrong. Super glad they drafted him!
Isn't it a bit premature to say that cap space won't be a problem next year when the one known in this equation is that we will be paying significantly more for the qb position next year, than we are this year?
No Chris those are terrible points Alan made. If Brodrick sits in favor of Moore that's a failure on them Plus saying these reps in ota don't mean anything by giving a terrible example of a RB please if that's the case why are you covering ota's and why even if your the NFL have them if they're not important
Love the thought and evidence that Broderick Jones will be an offensive leader. His maturity and intelligence are off the chart for his age and experience. His presence is much needed in our young offense. Someone who will keep the rest of the O accountable and in line. He is both a vocal leader and produces results on the field. A tone setter. All Dawg.
I just hope that steelers nation will be a little realistic. These up coming couple of years with this offensive line and just know that a lot of these guys were talking about, especially the rookies, will become in playing in different spots. The guy that played for us Roderick Jones. On the right, tackle will now be switching. Our number one draft pick was playing left. Tackled, now he'll be expected to play right tackle. I'm just and a little more realistic and know that it's gonna be about 2 to 3 years for these guys to realistically gel together.
Please trade Dan Moore, I'm sick of his routine, being the " nice teammate that helps people" meanwhile the Steelers keep drafting #1 pic tackles and are hesitant to bench Dan Moore when everyone knows they should. Or at least trade him. Lets stop this. Dan Moore is only helping because he knows if he is a asshole they will do him like they did Chucks. So he plays the game but don't fall for that. Bottom line is your performance and he's subpar. 🧐
It's not like they have a huge investment in Moore. I wouldn't be so quick to trade him unless it's something that really benefits the team. Maybe your over-looking the depth factor? Steelers currently have versatility on the Oline which could be a factor if someone goes down. Moore was drafted as a project meaning he is needing time to develop. Just maybe... the coaches see somethings you don't. I like being a little more optimistic than you. I'm thinking you might need a box of tissues or maybe some cheese to go with that whine.
@@perryellis1423 knowing that he’s on the chopping block, I think he handled the interview well. Im not on the Dan cool aid. And I’m the last person who will give this team any credibility until they win their division and make it to the AFC Championship game. Being mediocre is getting old, but that seems to be the case these days. Speaking of cool aid, I wouldn’t suggest drinking the Russ or Justin combo!!
I disagree with your comments about extending OTAs into Mini Camp...First, this is about the team not media cover..Second, remember Steelers have gotten better at each of the last 3 seasons at the end of the year. Which shows and proves that the chemistry isn't there at the beginning of the season..Third, there is only 3 preseason games and since it's basically to evaluate the rookies that less time to get things on track..Last, Players get a huge amount of time off from mid January to May come on man..!!! If Media guys were only covering football then they would have 5oo much time off, but again this is about developing chemistry with the team and not a thing about media coverage..
With the average career 3 years this is the best chance they will have to make money how is their focus not on football. U have the rest of your life to play.
