it doesn't use a membrane or domes for tactile feedback. The reason this keyboard feels so much better than that horrid overpriced Razer ornata is the Ornata was literally just a regular dome membrane keyboard with a clicker installed on the keystems. This is pretty much just a cherry mx style system with a two hard plastic sheet membranes standing in for the contacts. A springed plunger is why it can activate the switch before bottoming out, unlike the ornata, and clever routing of the sheet is how it does more than the usual 2 press of a cheap dome board. Also this thing uses clickbars like the coveted Kailh box switches, much better than the nasty shaking legos in a box experience of cherry mx blue.
I’m deciding between the Apex 3 or Apex 5 but I want to know if the keyboard has one usb head for the cable and has a usb in the keyboard so you can plug in the mouse to the keyboard. Great video 👍🏻
Thanks. For both the Apex 3 and 5 the cable is non detachable. There is also no USB port in the back of the keyboard for your mouse. Out of the two I would personally pick the Apex 5 as I much prefer the feel of a mechanical keyboard to a membrane keyboard
Hi great video! I also have this keyboard but I noticed there are 2 variations of a keyboard layout- the one with the bigger enter key ( the one you have) and the one shown in photos on the website. I have the same type as yours but the software puts me on the other one so some keys dont work- do you know any way to get past this as you have the correct software?
Thanks. Check the windows keyboard layout matches your keyboard, so if you press shift and the number 2 for example if you get a different character come up to what is on the keyboard then the windows settings might be the issue. If you have a big enter key it is likely to be a UK keyboard, so try changing your windows keyboard layout to UK. Let me know how you get on and I can try help more if that didn't work.
The keyboard was on UK layout. I saw a guy on reddit who had the same problems with the same keys but he had a apex pro. I did his method which was reboot the keyboard but it didn't work
That's weird, the magnets held mine on pretty well. If I picked it up it would fall off but I could move it around the desk a little bit without it coming off. How bad is it?
@@Tekify Its just that one side attaches and the other side is hanging off a bit, not that bad but its very irritating. If I try to force both sides on, the magnets still force one on and one hangs a bit.
Yeah I know, being on camera isn't something that came natural to me. I think I'm alot better in my newer videos but still obviously have alot to improve. It's not as easy as it looks, at least it wasn't for me
