and that's why they nicknamed it the Whisper Jet back in the late 80s and early 90s! Lovely looking aircraft and very unique not having reverse thrust to keep the noise down. Great clip 😎
The BAE 146 is a fine aircraft. During the 1980's PSA had many of them in their fleet. Quiet, confident and smooth landing. I always loved flying on this plane on business trips from Burbank to Sacramento- scores of times. A great plane, without doubt!!!
A BAe-146 is not even REMOTELY similar to a C-17. Saying such a thing is an insult to the genius of this aircraft. I don't believe any are still flying in the continental U.S. I have flown in them before, and it was so quiet and smooth, you could barely tell you were flying at all.
KrosanBeast315 .... Air Tankers/water-bombers for fighting fires. Don't know about commercial airlines, but definetly been flying on the West Coast as Air Tankers. Google it and you'll find multiple types.
Entweder BAE 146-200 oder Avro RJ85, aber es sind zwei unterschiedliche Versionen. Die BAE 146 ist die alte Version und die Avro RJ 85 die weiterentwickelte Version.
No need to fly in at only 3 degrees, the air brakes allow a compact 5 degree descent with the speed under control. It t is safer if there are power issues and much quieter for the underlying towns.
This aircraft is the same type used by the company LAMIA to transport the Chapecoense team. It is considered a robust and high performance aircraft used by the British Air Force.
Before the RJX was developed, BAe looked at redeveloping the RJ with 2 engines and winglets. There's a model of one in BAe Woodford's museum. They shelved the idea, due (partly at least) to the amount of structural redesign work the wing would require for such a change. Maybe there wasn't enough interest to justify the cost.
Always strikes me as odd that this little jet has 4 engines and something like the 777 only has 2, and yes i know that they are different engines/power etc.
If this Flight was from Pristina to Berne and the landing is ca. 17.00 or 18.00, then i was in this Plane and i Have recordings from the Take off in Pristina and the landing from Inisde.
