Will unbalanced tires make a van pull slightly to the left or right and it's also slightly vibrating and my tire pressure light came on but the pressures are good all of this seemed to happen at the same time

We had same issue. Practically replaced whole front end still vibration very frustrating. Sadly after all that money spent it was missing hub centric rings. 4 fr $11 on Amazon car fine. I never knew rings were missing.

One really tricky scenario is damage to a transission carrier bearing - the ones that support the axle shafts. This can happen if you hit a front wheel from the sides or if you loose control and spin on the road. It gives vibrations exactly like an unbalanced wheel. It may also give 'slack' where the axle shaft enters the transmission

Do you know if this can also cause loud metal-metal feel-able clunking while turning as well? I have a Cayenne and replaced almost everything in the front end including the CV axles. While replacing those I noticed the front differential output flange had some play. Not really much rotationally, side to side, or up and down, but a lot of in and out play.

@@uudjfkt No, I don't think the carrier bearing would cause such noise. I would look into the main drive shaft maybe touching the car body somewhere. Perhaps a Cayenne forum could help if it's a common issue with these cars

So are you saying the vibration is from the wheel bearing ?? Or the CV axel

@@lonnietran1925 Neither, with the CV axle off I can grab the output shaft flange and it moved about 1/2 inch in and outwards. Which I think is causing my vibrations and clunks.

@@uudjfkt I didn't read well your first message, 1/2" axial play inside the transmission is not normal. These are usually secured on the carrier bearing with a circlip and should not move axially inside the transmission. Perhaps the circlip is missing ? If it's still attached at the end of the shaft, then maybe the carrier bearing is completely worn

generally when the cv has failed it'll feel worse under load, not so bad when cruising

Ugh, I went to change a clutch at a shop and upon getting the car back they told me they damaged the tie rod so they replaced it with no cost to me. 2 days after when I got on a freeway my steering wheel was shaking really bad. Which was not the case before at all. Now I have to take it back to them because they either put in a different broken tie rod, or didn't tie something down well.

Tired were balanced, and alignment, but why vibrate only at 55-60mph and not other speed.

Me as well. Balanced them twice. Put used tires on, previous tires were done. But those tires didn’t have vibration. It’s most likely a bad tire. Possible spring issue.

Nobody ever looks on inside portion of the rim, the side facing inward on the car. I had a shake that nobody could fix. Typical garagemen, they were telling me it was all in my head, but every time it was balanced, the shake would return in about a week and get worse. One day I noticed oil had dripped from my rear differential. Getting under the truck, I noticed that oil had been leaking from the axle seals for some time. Dirt had gotten caked up in that oil all over the inside of the rim. I never saw the leak because the oil was caking up dirt! Took wheels off and scraped all the gunk out and replaced axle seal. Had to do the front, too, because the tire shop had rotated tires, so both wheels were crudded up. That truck has run smooth ever since.

I had this shudder on a Hyundai i40. We replaced the right driveshaft since I could feel it most on the right side.. It got 95% better but I can for sure still feel something is wrong. Changing the ATF (3 cycles) also made it better but still not perfect. Wheels are new and balanced, alignment is sport on. I am very afraid it is the differential bæring. Is that a big job? Does the whole gearbox need to come off ? There is no real noise coming from the diff so that is a bit strange..

The whole gear box does need to come off 95% of the time. I would just drive until something breaks or its unbearable.

Great video @ Auto Repair Guys. My car only has 57000 miles on there and I get that vibration at high speeds. The faster I go the more it vibrates. Had new tires put on, new struts, and new sway bar links has breaks and rotors done. And vibration is still there. Do you think it could be my cv axles? Helppppp

So I had the issue with worn tires so I got used ones that looked good. The shake was gone, but came back like a month later. I went to get them rebalanced and the shake was still there, but not as bad and a few weeks in and it’s back to the same place. The steering shakes from 70-85 MPH horrendously. It’s driving me nuts and it’s my daily. It’s a 2012 Altima sedan

I just got a new inner and outter tie rod. Im getting vibration at around 45 mph and my while sound really loud. The car drives straight. New tires. They were balanced. No idea what it could be

Stock wheels were perfect, no vibration, nothing. Got a new set of wheels and tires, the front end wanted to rip apart between 55 and 65 mph .. Took the wheels and tires to 5 tire shops and all said my wheels and tires were fine .... wtf ??

I have the same issue. I'm thinking its the hub centric rings that are plastic, might wanna try metal ones instead heard it fixes vibration.

@@JeanClaud3 well after 5 shops telling me its not the front wheels or tires, the 6th shop told me that is was NOT the front wheels or tires and it COULD be the rear tires or wheels. So i put the stock wheels in front and left the aftermarket wheels in the back and got vibration ... Took the rear aftermarket wheels OFF and put the front smaller aftermarket wheels in the back and NO vibrations. Put the rear aftermaket back on and vibrations came back. Had them inspected and both rear tires had flat spots on them. So here i am thinking front end vibration was due to front wheels and tires, NOPE ... The guy said the vibration from the wheels and tires have to go somewhere and i felt it up front. So i called up the tire shop and told them and they refunded my $$ because they didn't have the same tires in stock. So i ordered a new set of tires and waiting for them to come it.

@@ACommenterOnRU-vid That's interesting you had flat spots on new tires. In my case I had winters that I replaced for all seasons and still vibrating. Either need road force balance or metal rings. Hopefully yours gets fixed.

I'm from the US I have a Ford truck I replaced the tie rods ball joints and the steering gearbox and put new steering oil in it I still get a steering wheel wobble it only happens when I turn only does not happen when I break speed or stop help me I don't want to go to the mechanic shop and get a $900 bill for a $20 fix that I could do myself
