I still remember the exact moment in which I realized Bollani was not only a superb pianist but a true genius. I was listening to Shades of Chet for the second or third time when all of a sudden my mind was pierced by this shining light, in the middle of a piano solo Of course I love Rava, Roberto Gatto and the amazing guys playing on that album, but Bollani is the man, no doubt on it!
Risentendoli adesso, a distanza di diversi anni, avendo un carattere più temperato e mite, sono stato sorprendentemente rivisitato dal disgusto originario di quando li ascoltai anni fa. Per uscire illesi da questa musica, per gente come me,non si cresce mai abbastanza.
Da puro pianista.il piano non e la formula 1. Ma poche note e creativita di armonia.molta gente rimane colpita dalla velocita esecutiva del pianista come se fosse un pilota in un circuito e non a un concerto la maggior parte del publico non capisce niente di musica.ma piace fare vedere che ne capisce.in tubo! Oggi solo ciarlatani karaoke computer sul piano e solo bugie musicali.vergogna. auguri a bollani e di usare piu il cuore che le mani.
yeah, the only ones that get it are the pianists, jazz musicians and real music aficionados. it's well thought out, very controlled, carefully (99.9%) made note choices and it's not even that fast or ultra jazzy altered harmonically, pretty mainstream. he practiced a lot to get this kind of facility. your musical brain just can't deal with the complexity yet. it's like coffee, dark chocolate, good beer whiskey or wine.. tastes like medicine at first, then your palate starts to understand the subtlety of flavor being offered. sugar pops chips and cola no longer always satisfies. tho i can still listen to grunge metal punk pop, and enjoy the occasional donut, coke or bowl of kiddie cereal. bon appetit.
che cagata ..ma come si fa ad apprezzare questo schifo? Calvino diceva che il secondo tempo dell'idiozia è l'ignoranza. Bollani rappresenta bene il concetto.
