I noticed little adjustments when she was coached by Heinz Günthardt, and the game was evolving, as well. The era of adjustments was during 1991 - 1992. One visible adjustment was in Steffi's service motion later in her career; from statuesque-like, where all lines (racquet - body position) were balanced, to a little curvy racquet position when tossing the ball over her head.
I don't think Steffi Graf 1988 season winning Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, US Open and the Olympics will ever get broken by male or female. Then again she got some help competing in a weak era she hardly had anyone to challenge her.
Steffi played 13 slam finals against one of the top 10 all-time greats. Serena zero. Who had a stronger opponent in her two greatest years ever than Steffi in 1988/89 with Martina Navratilova?
@@carrerau7138Please those players Steffi beat in those finals had no weapons. Serena rivals was much more stronger, faster, hit harder serve bigger and depth too. The game evolve all the time. Serena had rivals like Venus, Henin, Clijsters, Davenport, Hingis, etc. If Steffi Graf era was so great why would a then 16 year Martina Hingis dominate and beating all Steffi rivals in 1997, when Steff out injured. That shows Steffi era was weak. Its laughable when people say Martina Navratilova a tough competition for Graf 😅😅. Navratilova and Evert was from the 1970s and 1980s era they didn't play with space and power they only beat a teenage Graf but once Graf got her game together it was like taking candy from a baby.
@@marfu1119 Who ever in the history of WTA world rankings was a better #2 than Navratilova in 1988/89, Steffi’s two greatest years ever. Feel free to make a suggestion. Can’t wait…
@@marfu1119 The game “evolved“´so much that a journeywoman from the Graf era who retired in 1996 could come back many, many years later and as 39/43-year-old beat Sharapova, Stosur, Li, Pennetta, Muguruza in 2010-14. All four slam winners of the early/mid-2010s. She was Kimiko Date. Remember the name.
@@carrerau7138Can't compare the 1980's to 2000's was a different era and the game was played different to when the William sisters came up in the late 1990's more athletic and power even Martina Hingis said in 1999 that her era is more athletic than Graf era so even the profrossinals players would agree with my theory.
Marion Bartoli is a better Tennis player than Steffi Graf,Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova because Marion Bartoli won Wimbledon title in 2013 without dropping a set.
