My favorite tractor on the farm was our Panther ST310. Love seeing this!!!

These old Steigers were all the same as far as the tractor and frame went. There was a higher-power Steiger offered with the 3406, so I'm sure the ones that came with it just had the radiator moved up like you said. As far as that 3306 goes, they're normally pretty rugged engines and have wet liners. I don't think a dropped valve would chew through to the actual block, hopefully all you would need is a new liner, piston, valve and maybe the head

I have the same tractor st270 with 3306 cat mine still runs. It had parked for 20+years but me and my brother got it running in 2hrs
