My 430 Aux. lift float kept popping out And sometimes would not work. The man I got the parts from showed me the steps on how to do this. It makes It A lot easier for me that way. I figured this Is A common part replacement so I would make A video to show how to do it. Hope this may help someone. I did forget to show But I did add A little grease to parts before I put cap on.

I just had the exact problem yesterday. I was able to pull the float valve actuator and open it up and spin it like you said. I will order the part but I got it working again for now. Thank you for the informative video. It did the trick!!!

On an older 420 I bought 2” heat resistant pipe wrap made for headers, removed my muffler and wrapped it. Solved the heat problem and quieted the muffler somewhat.

Very well done video. Thanks! I'm getting ready to order two of these kits. One for the float and the other for the traction pressure boost lever (230 Steiner). I pulled the entire auxiliary pump tho as the link pin from the float lever to the plunger finally gave up the ghost at 2500+ hrs. Had to remove it to get to it. I've been slowly losing pressure as i mow though so they are due to be rebuilt. I'm hoping that solves the problem. Thanks again for the well done vid!

My stieners eat belts too, 3-5 a seasn easily each,both kohler 25s. My ventrac belts last 5x longer,and they have alot more power and torque 53 ft lbs on the vanguard LC 31 vs 39 ft lbs on the kohler gas.

I went out to find the part number, But can't figure out where I put it. I will get the part number for you And list it in the next week.

I found the old parts. The bag has 2 numbers on it. The one tag says 23-041 The other one is 156B8566 I think that's the number you need. Hope this helps.

I used Messicks yesterday for a small pile of stuff. Should I call Mast Lepley instead next time? Are they big on shipping or just a standard issue dealer in your area? I'm in Iowa.

Caleb Welte I am curious how many Steiner do you see in Iowa? They are everywhere around here And also Ventracs because they are made in Ohio just curious how popular in the west. Mast Lepley is I believe the largest Steiner Ventrac dealer in the US. I think it is because they are not fat from where the original Steiner plant in Orrville OH And really close to the Ventrac plant as well. You would have to check on shipping cost, But if you need aa part I bet they would have it. They have bed around for years And are very knowledgeable. They also have answered any questions I have had when I called them on the phone. Great people, Look up the web site you will be impressed. Hope this helps.

I'll probably ask you for the dealer's name again down the road sometime. I'm going to replace the front hitch at some point this year I'll call them for it. I don't see other Steiner or Ventrac here in IA. Once a year something Steiner will pop up on Craigslist but other than that I just don't see them. Mine came from the son of a golf course owner- he said his dad still has a 430 and many attachments. A guy named Jack has a Ventrac and he makes videos with Ventrac. He lives on the Illinois side of the Mississippi, not far from me. Davenport Schools demoed a Ventrac a few weeks back but IDK if they ordered one or not. The dealer doing the demo didn't seem to know how to run the thing(they looked scared to death on a simple hill) and the Ventrac is way bigger than my 430 and looses points for its size in my opinion.

I agree in the size. I toured the Ventrac factory A few months back. I really love there products. I agree with you tho. I really like the size of the 430, It's perfect. I have some ideas I gave to Ventrac on new products . Is there A way I can private message you?
