@Kaylakaze - no the VN authors specifically stated they weren't canon and the movie contradicts alot of preestablished rules

​@Kaylakaze - I tried to find it again, but I'm starting to think i mixed the statement part up with something else. In regards to debate about the canonicity of the film, i couldn't find anyone who speculates theories on the show debating for the movie to be canon. The film specifically breaks the only one worldline rule that was consistently enforced in the entire VN and anime series. The movie tries to show different worldlines happening in parallel. Another rule is that the time leap machine can only do up to 48hrs without causing brain damage, movie just threw that out bcuz of convivence. 0's only time in stating that the characters have the rules wrong ison the topic of paradoxes. Alpha Suzuha was more informed about the time travel rules then beta. anyway, the VN and anime are in the same canon, the vn just gets priority when not consistent. That's how anime adaptations of games are treated in general.

As a first time watcher, it might be best to have them watch 25 just to experience steins gate (original) how it was and then 23B and steins gate 0

True...but I've heard of both cases happening, so his resolve aside, it could've been a question of where they got stabbed. (A little too much to the right or left and okabe could've died too I guess D:)

We'll see with season 3 if the movie got canon. But anyway it doesn't matter much. OVA is not canon since it contradicts with SG0 and also further information about Okabe's future in Robotics;Notes.

@@charajeux Sorry, i don't see the contradiction, in any place, and about the third season, apparently it will not happen either in beta or in Steins;Gate eorld line, it seems that it will tell the story of kurisu working for sern in alpha's world line Future. and official information shows that each series in the sience fiction adventures franchise takes place in relatively different world lines, I'll see if I can find the source for you, and even then, that can still count for the anime, since there are differences from the anime for the game, as I said, there is no official information, but when you search the wikis and the steins;gate, the ova and the movie appears, honestly, because there is no official information whether it is canonical or not, I think it can be open to the interpretation of each one, for me, counts.

Spoiler * * * * * @@hououinkyouma9439 You mixed various stuff. Kurisu in the future of alpha worldline will be Anonymous;Code not Steins;XXX, and it will most likely be Amadeus and not Kurisu. "Official information shows that each series in the sience fiction adventures franchise takes place in relatively different world lines": just a look at the first few seconds of Robotics;Notes (anime) would prove you wrong. And most information about Okabe's and everybody from FGL future comes from it (R;N DaSH). The problem you tell is the same with almost every anime: mangas, LN and VN tend to be adapted differently in the anime. But for the third season of Steins;XXX, they will likely not take into account anything not in the VN or in the SG0 anime. Because they already considered the OVA and movie as not canon in their story: Okabe left Japan to study in the US, Daru met Yuki (not a clone of Suzuha) at the summer ComiMa just after the event of Steins;Gate. So definitly both stories are discarded. But you may look at mangas, most of them, though not canon, have become source material afterwards. So they may take stuff from the movie. Or not. At this point, it can't be 100% canon even in the anime. It's only small details, so in the end, it doesn't really matter. If you like the movie, then you can recommend to watch it. It's not that good, but it's not so bad either. It's done by different people than the original story, that's why it lacks the depth of Steins;Gate.
