The 10 speed is the least of the worries, it's a faulty oil cooler along with a fault oil filter housing and oil valley leaks. Even the civilian model v6 chryslers have this problem but it's said that the police models possibly have an extra oil cooler which is even more susceptible to this issue.

Exactly! This is why I said I'd buy one at auction and fix it. We got a 2014 Durango mint from auction under 10k. Tow package equiped and common issues fixed. Been reliable ever since.

I bought a used 5k miles 392 Durango that originally cost over 80k as it was almost fully loaded and also with the 6.4 engine. From the start I had issues. Traded it back about 5k miles later. Shameful.

It's harder than it sounds nowadays. The lemon laws are differently worded per state and they fight you and they know exactly how to drag it out and subvert those laws. Nothing federal, no federal mediator to protect the consumer on these insanely expensive purchases.

How Chrysler survived the merge with Mercedes is an absolute mystery. The last "decent" vehicles this company produced were the 3rd gen Caravans/Voyagers/T&Cs. Seen em with 300,000 miles running better at 25 years old than the 2020 models.

It lasts for five years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. The warranty is transferable to a new owner if the vehicle is sold before the warranty expires. Bumper-to-bumper warranty: This warranty covers 2023 Dodge vehicles for three years or 36,000 miles.

However, these are police vehicles and many times those extended warranties have to be purchased separately as the duty cycle of a police specification Durango is different than one used in civilian life. There are often special extended warranties for municipal vehicles, because the manufacturers know the duty cycle that they are put under.

the late model GM trucks/SUVs are having problems with the electric parking brakes locking up and not being able to put them in neutral for towing due to a fuel module freaking out.... might want to check into that before buying any GM

@@crinklecut3790 What good would that do? The general public thinks suing a company is a magical way to get a bunch of money really fast. It doesn’t work that way at all. The department would have to exhaust the warranty and lemon law process first. Then, to sue they would incur more expense for litigation. A lawsuit would take years. They need reliable police vehicles now, not when some hypothetical lawsuit is settled. It’s just easier and more practical to liquidate the Durangos.
