Decades old AAA Developers & Publishers who have been coming up with games that have terrible performances in recent years should take notes. From what i know this is Shift Up's first actual non-mobile game too which makes it even more impressive.
Neowiz (Lies of P) did the same thing last year. Essentially their first major game, yet even on day one it had perfect performance and no bugs. It seems like Korean devs are the only ones trying at the minute.
@@vadimakdav1357 I doubt there's diversity in Japanese companies... Also, Guerilla games are woke as hell and their games look and performs like butter at 60 FPS with sharp images.
I played on balanced mode and it was the first time on PS5 that I was able to maintain a steady 60 FPS on my LG OLED VRR display(in Balanced mode that is). It ran incredible and looked incredible at the same time. And what’s even more impressive is this is the first AAA title from this studio. As they typically work on mobile games. Day 1 buy from me
@@fastica yeah exactly, meanwhile i wont notice the small details being sacrificed, if I wanna play a GAME I dont wanna sacrifice how the GAMEPLAY feels
Devs did an awesome job. For their first AAA game, I really enjoyed the demo. The protagonist gets most of the spotlight because these days western devs suck the femininity right out of their female characters but the game is a lot more than that. It captures that anime gloomy sci-fi setting really well and the music is actually really good. That first area after the landing stage has really good music. Combat is awesome too and will require some practice to master but she has many abilities too. I was skeptical it would be just flash with no substance but no, this is a solid game and I hope the developer sees the success I feel they deserve. Good job on Sony too for not meddling in their game.
@@CosmicCorey Go on Google and search "western vs eastern game female characters" than sort by images. Its not just appearances but behavior too. Femininity goes beyond just looks. Talking about lack of emotions, etc. Look at female actresses in Death Stranding, they look just like the models they were modeled after for example. Look at MJ from Spider Man, Aloy from HFW, main protagonist from upcoming Fable (oof) Jesse Fayden from Control many others models, the chins and jaws are enlargened, female assets reduced. Its a trend fueled by an ideology that views feminine beauty and emotional behavior as a weakness and its not.
Toller Kanal!
No joke they made a 60fps locked mode for BFI and a balanced mode that stays within the PS5's super narrow VRR range for those who don't have BFI It's trully amazing. And the game is good, has good(-ish) HDR, they did everything right
@@gavinderulo12 ok, sure, but 48 minimum is too high for a lot of games that would benefit from VRR, for most PS5 games the range is effectively only 48-60
when it comes to modes I always go with native 4K, it’s what I bought my ps5 for. If I’m to play any resolution lower I might as well use my ps4 pro or one x. I still own last gen consoles. None of my ps5 games have stuttering issues and I never choose performance mode over resolution.
If it wasnt a kind souls game in the gameplay department i will probably just play at resolution but i feel timming is key here so i go with balanced and vrr the performance mode is a little bit blury to me
And now you're officially my favorite gaming channel. Ahem. Anyway... I used your hdr settings and balanced mode on my lg c3. Looked and ran great, although i saw what you meant about the second area being very dark. As far as the game, it's fun. The perfect parry is timed well (unlike Lies of P). If i had one complaint, it's the slow movement when you're just exploring. It doesn't feel precise, and i see myself falling to my death because of the momentum. Combat is great, though, even if I do suck at these types of games.
Hey, ich got a Hisense 55E78HQ and a Asus VS278 and fighting against Color Banding on both Displays connected to the PC. Im using a MSI 4070 Ventus. The Color Banding is so strong, that it destroys my Gaming Experience. I tried everything in the Monitor/TV Settings, match the Color Range, played with Brightness in Games and i dont know. It feels like my GPU or both Displays are faulty. Can anybody help?
even the performance mode looks decent enough, if you have VRR display just go for BALAnCED mode which is targetting 60 with dips and still good smooth enough.
I wish final fantasy rebirth looked and performed as good as this. I’ve had to play outside of game mode and turn on smoothing for the first time just to make 30fps bearable. I’ve loaded up Prey which I have installed which is also 30fps and first person which you would think would be worse, but that looks absolutely fine. So something is seriously wrong with final fantasy.
Fantastic game. You talked about 60fps but I will admit that this game 4k30 mode is really good. It's really smooth and responsive for a 30fps mode. I will probably play in balanced but that 30fps mode is sharp and really easy to get used to. I finished demo in 30fps mode just great and then again in balanced with vrr. both flawless
Hi I noticed you mostly make videos in the LG’s do you prefer to game on these over the Samsung I’m stuck on which one to get the LG C3 or the Samsung S90C can anyone help me pick which one I’m all new to OLED/QD-OLED
After seeing your review on hgig on stellar blade as hownit reacts i came up with this solution. I'm gonna do this for all games. Yo man i liked your videos are good on hdr oled settings... What i have done is. Tell me if i'm wrong (-1)With dtm on and auto black level , ps5 in setting hdr calibration is set to 25 25 13 for no visibility of the icon (-2)With dtm on hgig and auto black level, ps5 hdr calibration is set to 14 14 12 for no visibility on icon So the result i found is that i added a 1 brightness point to (-2) dtm on hgig and auto black level, ps5 hdr calibration is set to 15 15 12(not adding 1 here for proper black level). Adding 2 brightness point on hdr calibration also looks goodtoo but.. 16 16 13 so but a slight washed on human face...thats why i came down to 15 15 12 on ps5 hdr calibration What do you think? I think this way i get good hgig for tv brightness is maintained, brightness is maintained by hdr calibrationz. Colors look good too Let me know your suggestions man
I didn't noticed any fps drops on balance mode because I'm not that sensitive to small drops. So balanced mode felt fine to me without VRR as my 2019 Sony TV doesn't support that.
Nah I think balanced mode is pretty sharp to me ( you get basically a 1440p minimum image quality with less artefacts than in performance mode and if you have a vrr screen a solid 60fps)
Motion clarity is great and all, but if the motion being displayed on your screen is filled to the brim with upscaling artefacts and blurriness from the low internal resolution (you need a minimum of 1440p in modern games because of TAA), then you can't just call it "60 fps". It's 60 fps, sure, but it's not a clean 60 fps. It's a nasty, muddy 60 fps, and I don't think it's unreasonable for people to say: "no, I'd rather play in the sharper, non-artefact-y 30 fps mode". You wouldn't choose 60 fps if you had to play at 240p, right? So there is a limit. Depending on the amount and types of camera movement in a game, a 30 fps mode can actually give you a cleaner image on average (in exchange for input lag), simply as a result of how bad the resolution can be in the performance mode.
I would choose 240p at 60fps. I play megadrive and saturn games all the time on my LG oled :D 30fps must be avoid at any cost. With 30fps you cannot use BFI to simulate strobing and increase the motion clarity, you're stuck with 30fps sample and blur, while 60fps on an LG oled with BFI on is equal to 140fps sample and blur, it's a world of difference. Of course I wouldn't actually play a modern game at 240p, but the PS5 isn't THAT weak.. 1440p with finetuned TAA or DLSS looks just fine at 48" for me
If 60fps mode is extremely blurry or/and low details (like in Guardians of the Galaxy f. ex.!) i just refuse to play the Game even for free, let alone pay for that! ;) 240p lol no thx ^^ 30fps no thx too! (Oled tv? Then 60fps is a must imho!)
@@8minatoOn Ps5...switch between quality and performance and if you still no difference in picture q. then you won't be bothered with any game i guess!
The thing is that resolution mode is only worth it if you have a 4K Display , otherwise the quality of the 3D model is the same . So guys , don’t even try resolution mode on a 1080p Display ‘cause it will make no difference 😂
PSA : This game DOESN'T NATIVELY SUPPORT VRR even if you have VRR set to "automatic" in the PS5 settings menu, therefore, to reap the benefits of VRR on "Balanced mode", you have to turn on the "Enable VRR for unsupported games" option which sits under the generic VRR option. CAREFUL, this option, while it does work well and improves fluidity on this game, it doesn't work well with others - Alan wake 2 for example, when played in performance mode, and while it stays within the PS5's VRR range (48Hz-120Hz), it starts stuttering like crazy when there are frame drops (and there are lots in AW2). Basically, it only works PROPERLY on a game per game basis.
Alan Wake 2 was poorly optimized in general but I feel like we’re not gonna see any major fixes until the PS5 pro releases feel like it’s an excuse for developers to Not put any effort into optimizing theyre games for the standard consoles
@@SE-fq4gf Are you sure SE ? Though that AW2 was running between 50-50something~60fps... Anyway, with VRR enabled, it stutters even more compared to when you have it turned to off to the point that the game feels like it's dropping even more frames. Anyway, the "VRR for unsupported games" option is most definitely NOT a panacea, nor a "set and forget" option, again, it should only be enabled on a game per game basis.
@NinjaDog578 Yeah, it regularly drops below 48fps, especially in the forest, VRR in general should be turned off and on depending on the games performance, even if it is a supported game, FFXVI comes to mind, its a supported game but often falls out of the VRR range.
I have a Samsung Q90 series TV and I don't know why I see the HDR turned off better, the colors are more beautiful, my TV is from 2019, help me!!, i have VRR in my console
Balanced mode has a lot more input delay than performance mode, Balanced mode adds about three frames of input delay. And you can completely forget graphics mode, that shouldn't even be a thing for a game like this. VRR doesn't do anything for input delay.
I can't play in balanced... everything seems to be blurry compared to 4k. I leave 4k 30 fps and turn on the MEMC on the TV.. It's 4k "60", but the input lag increases.. I platinumed Demon Souls like this😂😂😂
@@pheaseyy Give your eyes and brain time to adjust to 30fps, once it has adjusted it becomes very smooth. I also game at 120fps on PC and it did take me a few minutes to adjust. Or get a better TV that has good native motion handling in game mode with out the need to add motion smoothing. Beyond that get your eyes checked.
@@Pandemonium088 you are very dumb. You can put up with 30fps but saying you don’t notice a difference is insane and misinformation. People like you are the reasons devs put out broken games with bad frames.
But in this game there is not a significant graphics difference between balance and resolution mode thats why i think balance will be better because animations are better in higher fps and input delay advantage as well...
I also can’t believe the filthy casuals in the comments of all these ps5 videos saying they like resolution mode more than performance mode on action games. Very counter intuitive for an action game where every input matters and the timing matters. “Oh it looks so shiny and good so it’s better” so braindead hahah smh.
This game is gonna look stellar on PS5 pro according to rumors. Every PS5 game that wants "PS5 pro" badge on its box will have to have ray tracing included (reflections, shadows etc), 60 FPS minimum and a minimum resolution of 1440p upscaled to 4k using PSSR.
@@gavinderulo12 it is a 16gb demo looking 5 times better than major AAA games lately. So that is irrelevant. Games being released rushed is a serious matter. But go ahead and enjoy your 30fps with your massive ugly ass open world games. 😂
@@nukenin5457 it's not irrelevant. Having a massive open world which constantly needs to stream in and out assets is way more difficult to pull off than a linear game. My point is that you simply can't compare them.
@@gavinderulo12 of course we can compare them. Rise of the ronin is not even close to "massive" and the performance is terrible. Being a "massive" game is not an excuse for bad development and rushed release for games lately. And we dont even know the size for stellar blade yet.
@@nukenin5457 it's not the size itself per say. But it's the amount of stuff that needs to streamed in and be considered constantly, such as AI etc. But I believe at least for dragons dogma 2 and rise of the ronin, it's an engine issue. They use engines that weren't made for open world games. Rebirth uses UE4 but an old version. It's performance mode works well but the main issue is the lack of a good upscale such as FSR. They only use a simple bilinear upscale because their UE4 version is so outdated.
A normal human can't distinguish between 30 and 60 FPS. For me, I can't tell the different. Definitely, resolution mode provides more details and clarity. RU-vidr keeps promoting higher FPS ... 60FPS, 120FPS... because, no body gonna challenge this answer. In reality, human can't tell the difference.
This game ñooks horrible in balance mode. Its blurry and ugly. Ps5 can't do a good 60 fps, the upscaling works terrible. I want a PC version now, but thanks to Sony this won't happen soon.
