> unbidden 2 systems away from my space > 4x crisis > spiral galaxy > annihilate the star with dison beam > they have to go through the entire galaxy to get to me nwo
@Panzer VII Löwe you would not lose the stars forever jump drives exist it's just they will make it harder to beat them as penalties upon using jump drives temporarily
You could basically make the player/an AI empire into an endgame crysis. As they start to build the device everyone gets a popup and the device has to be destroyed before it fires, for if it does everything in the galaxy is turned into very fine dust.
Megastructures are so cool. They can really get you in the mindset of thinking about higher morality through space travel and technology. When you are blocking out a sun, freezing all the planets in a system, you can reflect at how your species has ascended beyond answering to what can be thought of as forces of nature, beyond seeing the effects their actions have on the survival of a single ecosystem as the height of "moral quandries". Having the power to destroy stars and planets, and to build worlds in the void, where life can be created that can be free even from the confinements of physical bodies. No better god sim out there than Stellaris with this mod.
We have ascended my people. No longer can we consider ourselves mortal, we have built wonders the galaxy has not seen in millions in years, we have even conquered death itself. -every empire that ends up collapsing shortly after.
Joshua Farrell except if you followed synthetic dawn ascension path and now that you got rid of the weak flesh you aren’t prey of the creatures of the shroud anymore.
_nerd voice_ well actually, since you can't make star-light go faster, it would take hundreds, thousands, or hundreds of thousands of years for the light to reach their systems, so it would be useless.
HoH hoch if you do that I’m pretty sure they’ll have much more pressing issue than having slurs written in their sky ^^ But you can always get the stars only a few light years away from their star.
I actually wish more games would have a genocide mechanic. Like you can enslave people and get a boost to productivity but at the cost of diplomatic relations and unrest, or you can straight up genocide people and get a boost to cash (from plunder) and clear up land but at a large cost to unrest and relations while also boosting your threat.
@@arthas640 isn't there still a mechanic to just straight up power your empire by consuming enslaved pops for energy I remember how cheesey that was at some point because I had just conquered another empire and the massive glut of energy helped my warstack to go conquer another species which also then was converted to fuel.
Imagine just seeing a fleet of war moons coming into your territory that would be fun. Also that's no moon its a space station... no wait it is a moon. A perfectly normal moon with giant thrusters and a giant gun good good...... WAIT WHAT!!!! EDIT: How the hell did this get 100+ likes.
Polity universe a nutshell; either it's moon-sized spaceship, weaponized moons or moons thrown through FTL gates for relativistic impact with planets or alien dreadnoughts.
Coby Utting, yeah it looks like metal planet with catalyst on it. I thought this is colossus-like thing with ability to destroy planets through whole system and maybe having a shipyard.
15:03 "Encounter in 'Great Wound'" I'm imagining, "Hello... I am your new neighbor.. I get the feeling we aren't going to get along.." From American Dad.
or perhaps just make it so you can trigger all the crises at once. Imagine a galactic 4 way battle between you, the unbidden, the scourge, and the contingency. Plus if your lucky you might even get the gray tempest which adds more fun!
@@iminformedbecauseisawabunc9402 maybe even The End of The Cycle for Psionic Empires. That'd basically mean a galactic rape followed by certain total galactic annihilation. Would it be fun to watch? You bet your ass it would lol
Gavin jones If this fixes the AI, then sweet, but otherwise I've never seen the AI build/repair Mega structures. (Gateways and Habitats sure, but none of the big ones)
You messed up the names a bit and some other things too. I went out of my way and corrected them below: - Orbital Zoo = Orbital Artificial Ecosystem - Orbital Engineering Center = Macroegineering Testing Station - Military Arcademy = Orbital Military Bastion
"You may fire when ready" "Hey boss, why is there a 2nd wormhole generator?" "That's just someone jumping in through a wormhole" "Weren't wormhole drives removed in 2.0?" "Oh I completely forgot about that, good call Bob, you might just get a promo-" *"COMMENCE PRIMARY IGNITION"* "You're fired."
Or a "Shouldn't we stop firing to check where we're shooting at?" "Not fire? In our moment of testing? I think you overestimate the odds of it targetting us-" *Later* "We are gathered here today to remember the fallen members who served bravely on the Nicoll-Dyson beam weapon"
Oh Aspec ... u forgot the gargantuan ringworld, where you can also make the mid-sections in between making a single system worthy of a complete empire.
I think Le Guin's changes might make some of these structures much more useful in the game and make using the super large habitat's easier to manage and populate. Having many times more pops in an empire might make a gas giant farm attractive, and using minerals on high end production means when starships require alloys could be good investments. Things like the Neutron forge could be used to drastically increase refined materials production or support the production of bio-fleets and super ships like the automated dreadnought. Could even lead to a game mode where AI factions like crises and fallen Empires keep trying to kill the player and only with the construction of these gigastructures can they hope to last against the ravening hordes.
hopefully the developers of this mod add Craft Worlds, like the Eldar have in Warhammer 40k. it would fit as a giga engineering option since Craft Worlds are bigger then most planets.
Id love to see tham make a whole Side from Gundam. Basically, a Side is a collection of O'Neill Cylinder Space Colonies on a Lagrange Point. It can be a larger habitat you can put anywhere but would be much more vulnerable. Would be an amazing(-looking) alternative to habitats AND you could totally make one into a Colony Laser (basically Ion Cannons) or use one in a Colony Drop (poor-man's 1-time colossus. Does alot of destruction on the dropped planet)
Joseph Jobo Licayan , perhaps viable in a total conversion Gundam-themed mod. Otherwise, it makes little sense in the context of vanilla Stellaris let alone the Gigastructures one. An O'Neil cylindef is completely dwarfed by the existing possibilities.
A craft world ship like the Eldar have which can travel, house population, manufacturing, science etc including the docking of your fleets all in this one mega craft. Similar to the war moon but hey I like options! Also the moon should have the option of going into it like a small planet to add population, troops, ships, you get the gist. You could make that extra phases after making it mobile to make it stronger. Think the Black Ark in TWWHII.
But can the AI build them? I’ve never seen them build any mega structure in any of my games. Once I start building mega structures I’ve basically won the game. My economy starts overtaking all others. I’d be more interested in an AI that can competively build mega structures, it’d be so much fun to race them.
s4098429 couple times in my play though with grand admiral difficulty do, but it's late late game usually, the empire next to me built a early science nexus and when I got the territory I got a free early science nexus, they built another one much later on
if you let them grow 1 or 2 civs will try to build some stuffs. i got a second dyson sphere because i was building 1, and one being build by the enemy. also with a science nexus i found a broken one and an empire was building other. when some stagnant empires wake they go on a building spree. so if you hold on your own for several hundred years you may find some goodies when you decide to conquer them. slow cooking that rice. carefull though, some of them go crazy with gates and habitats
Finally you sly thing, fluffy species is not what we were waiting for, XD jk I’m just glad you were still making the video, I’m also very impressed with the way you present things in the game👍
Can someone tell me what the bad thing is that can happen when building the shroud hypersiphon? I've built quite a few and for hundreds of years, but nothing bad ever happened.
Attack moons seem very similar to the battle moons from Shadow raiders. Now I'm only missing the Beast planet, though that thing was supposedly indestructible, so that would skew with game balance a bit... XD
I think a series where you start on say a super ring world or whatnot would be really cool. Its no so much a single world play but rather its a controlled expansion. Maybe have it so FTL travel is not invented at the time and so its all about the initial solar buildup. I think that might be cool. Anyway, this is a cool vid. :)
9:07 that is cool. That part reminds me of the film " 2010: The Year We Make Contact" [message relayed from monolith] All these worlds are yours, except Europa. Attempt no landing there. Use them together. Use them in peace.
So does this mod and the connected mods still work? I was trying to get them installed the other day but they seemed to not be updated with the current patch.
For some reason I keep getting errors about larger ring world's not being built in systems that are unsureveyed. They are though. And sun laser doesn't appear in mega structure list even after researching it
@ASpec The Orbitals seem to be a reference to the Culture's Orbitals which are, well, just like the ones shown in the mod. Elysium refers to the conditions on those Orbitals as being great.
For anyone who is interested in leaning more about the Penrose Shpere, I suggest watching Kurzgesagt's video on them here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ulCdoCfw-bY.html
@@StarboyXL9 this is normal. War moons are similar in role to fleet titans. They have a very powerful main weapon that fire very slowly. As such, you should NEVER employ them on their own, just like you would never send a titan alone they are useful at taking down heavily defended structures and other mega ships, they eat titans for breakfast and can really be useful when it comes to fighting levies
Can we just move the stars with its planets away so these filthy xenos cannot reach me via standard hyperlanes (create my own little L-gate system)? Or maybe even flying away to another galaxy? Maybe we can rip apart space-time and create a stable portal to (once again) another galaxy, effectively playing as extradimensional invaders. On the other hand one can build a doomsday device that will dramatically increase gravitational force of central galactic black hole, so it will slowly devour every system starting from the closest to galaxy's center.
I actually found one of these The Event Horizon Offset Facility, or EHOF. Basically, teleporter for star systems pre-gened hyperlanes dont attach to. Like L-Gates but withoit the risk of end-game doomsday AI. alao the spurce for Quasi-Negative-Mass
I built the shroud siphon with the warning several times but nothing bad has happened, so is there actually something that can happen or have i just lucked out
All I can think of whenever I see a War Moon is that episode of Invader Zim where Mars and Mercury are turned into giant warships that have that exact same thruster design and ribbed structures on their surface
Imagine a habitat that you can move from one star system to the other. It would be kind of funny seeing a punch of habitats running away from a end game event.
The attack moon/behemoth can also spawn in te game and when you decide to investigate the aliens it belongs to it brings you to the irassian chain in situation log (if the irassians are in your game)
As soon as I get a computer capable of running Stellaris at max graphics at 60 fps for the entire game, I'm going to download this mod, take a two week vacation and just conquer the Galaxy and develop it to a Type 3 Civilization.
There is an addon of that mod about ringworlds where you can build 4 Ringworlds in a system making more than 20 segments, I hope that addon get added into the mod directly.
I honestly love how the mod mocks you for making the Titanic Ringworld Basically calls you out on being obsessed with ringworlds XD Did Aspec ever do an update video to explain the constructs that came later?
They should include stellasers and orbital rings, but I figure the later is a prerequisite for casual space travel along with launch loops and mass drivers.
