I used it to support my fleets which crossed the galaxy to take out a psionic entity and the automated dreadnought. Building an exclave base takes time and having your fleets return home for repairs, allows hostiles to block their return, tempting them with poorly defended territory.

The Juggernaut sounds like it will actually be really useful if you're in a federation. So many wars take place on the other side of the federation, where it takes you absolute ages to reinforce. Not so useful if you're just expanding your empire across the galaxy, but real handy if you're trying to expand your federation. And federations are the theme of the expansion pack.

Also the force projection allows you to profit by supporting exclave creation in a distant area. That means you can benefit from rebellions and crises, turning a single system trading exclave, into a base to exploit rebellions, crises, L-gates and the xenophobe FE on a distant side of the galaxy. It's the way to broaden out from tall, without upsetting surrounding allies. Some games, you don't have expansion opportunities and I had to leave my own federation to pursue vassalisation of an aggro neighbour. The Juggernaut would have allowed a distant expedition against a criminal syndicate.

just download gigastuctures theres no limit to how many battle moons and planets you can build i tend to like the one war planet with two battle moons orbiting it now ill add in a juggnaught behind them guarded by three titans to further buff them for hard times 5 multiply crisises

..... I want it to be an acention perk. After colossi, unlock unlimited superships :D when 8 jump into a system and obliterate a hostile force of battleships, although they would ultimately end up being run over by half a fleet of Corvettes with cloud lighting because ignoring armour is fair and balanced.

And it enables new strategies, build one and you can make your own luck, despite not having L-gates, marauders or surviving non-allies in your neighbourhood. Send 2 fleets to a hotspot, supported by the juggernaut and it's escorts, plus it can provide sci & construction ships to grab new territory cleared by genocidals and crises.

Additionally; fill it out with escort fighters instead of strike craft so missiles, torpedoes and enemy strike craft won't be able to to touch your fleet (especially if coordinating with other carriers).

A juggernaut could be very useful when fighting the unbidden. Since there are no shipyards to capture, you have to go back to friendly territory, which can slowly expand. But the jughurnaut allows your rletes to repair after every fight without leaving the space you fought for undefended.

Also you often don't get to reinforce safely when fighting overwhelming opponents with fast hit & run tactics. A pre-positioned juggernaut can top up those fleets from a few hops away despite enemy pursuit

So Spiff had beaten both the single person and the basic company games of life, so he's into global shipping empires distributing tea, unfortunately we can buy Yorkshire tea.... But not Yorkshire Tea Gold. Just relax I suppose, once spiff attains global supremacy it will be a matter of time before he distributes the tea globally and starts working on his space program as he plans to dominate the galaxy... But first he has to found a religion, based on tea, while cheesing the system to exploit some glitch. Are memes glitchy enough?

I feel like the primary advantage the Juggernaut has over capturing an enemy shipyard is simply the fact that it is mobile. This means you can reinforce and repair ships in-situ, at the battlefront itself rather than several jumps behind. in addition, it isn't a static target that the enemy for the enemy to zero in on and reclaim, and the enemy shipyard thing also relies a lot on luck - you need to find and capture it, and then hold it against your enemies - and there is no way of knowing if this new shipyard will even be in an advantageous position for *you* when reinforcing fleets. By contrast, you can move the juggernaut and its escort fleet, so you can position it to be maximally effective with reinforcing the front line fleets yourself, and you can therefore respond to shifts in the front better than if you relied on a static station.

Also Aspec ignored the fact you cannot upgrade or reinforce at a captured ship yard in wars with claims, because it isn't yours until the truce is made. Armour and hull repairs are not enough, if you have won a close battle losing many ships. How often are reinforcements picked off?

Just the point out, the juggernaught has got a couple shipyard sections to allow for frontline repair, upgrade and building. Makes it a little more enticing

I like that they're working on something to make strike craft and missiles more viable but a 30% debuff to enemy point defense damage and rate of fire is nowhere near enough IMO. Hopefully they add some other tech or other mechanic that increases strike craft evasion and makes them scramble and engage from greater distances than large capital ship mounted weapons.

Those large long range weapons work against large ships ... not CT swarms. My battle groups contain carriers, missiles and small ships, as well as long range units. If they catch large ships near FTL point, BB's and Titan fleets get mauled. But coordinated waves work best, due to force disparity your long range ships and carriers will have reduced fire rate if your swarm is one single fleet present for the whole battle. But a screening force gets thinned out, as do the PD escorts, so fresh forces can overwhelm degraded point defences. But you mustn't ever be much weaker than the enemy, they will knock out your ships too fast. That's why long range is king in capital ship battles, the first fleet to land blows, weakens the other so takes fewer losses and has fewer targets to take out when firing next.

Feels like 1)ECM Emitters and Strike Command should be put onto single module with bonuses combined; 2)same goes for Munitions Plant and Target Acquisition Array; 3)Subspace Amplifier should be buffed to 50%?

And to compensate for the loss of two slots, we should have two new ones in their place, preferably something better like : Magnetic Disruptor (or something else, I just improvised the name in ten seconds) Enemy Tracking : -10 Enemy Fire Rate : -25% Repair Drone Yard : Daily Armor regen : 2% Daily Hull Regen : 2% The numbers may need to be tweaked but at least with those five modifiers you'd have a tougher choice than right now (the first one would still be the worst by far but at least it would be incredibly good for someone who invests in strike craft)

@@TheArklyte The Devs have made 5 and I don't think that they would agree to any type of change if the number is changed. It has almost always been like that with Paradox, you can advise to change things about the content but not the quantity of content, they monetise their dlc based on the quantity after all. I mean, why do you think that the boons to strike crafts and the malus to PD were separated in the first place ? They were most probably scrapping the barrel of ideas to get to a number of 5 auras to give the illusion of choice, even though there are realistically only one or two that are worthwhile

@@TheArklyte Well, yes I did it I won't lie there, I had absolutely no idea of what to do (though the one about percentile regen of Hull and Armor should be included, it would allow the "Juggernaut" (should be called a MotherShip but whatever) to fill it's support role , because two shipyards is really not enough) I am certain that they won't change anything, but at least it is fun to speculate

If not using mods i see this as very OP think about it: War on an enemy you are 1/3rd through their empire when your fleets are looking pretty bad your empire is on the other side of the galaxy and it would take to long to refit them all and get back then the Juggernaut shows up and your fleets refit and rearm and now they push through the enemy's lines like a hot knife through melted butter. It sounds amazing.

Right! It even builds the construction ship needed to claim new territory and repair the automated dreadnought. Before you could repair and return, you have a gateway built (with buildspeed power ups) and nothing is left temptingly undefended.

@@islamwasrightaboutwomen4420 Not really true. There's mods such as Realspace and Awesome battles and they make Stellaris feels MUCH more interesting. Both mods rework how space battles look and work and it actually feels so much better than the massive tokyo drift warship clausterfuck the vanilla gives you.

It cant merge into fleets, and its effects are system wide. Its a mobile base and you can put multiple fleets in its orbit.

3:30 - It means they'll be able to shoot *first*, which is valuable, given Stellaris combat generally gives more value to the alpha-strike than to DPS or tanking.

The juggernaut sounds awesome for the sole reason that it's fucking huge, it's just a shame it doesn't have more firepower cause if we go by the usual, this thing will take space for two titans, and I don't think it has more firepower than those combined, so it'd be nice to have more guns on it. As for the mega shipyard... OOOOOOH FUCK YEAH!! Is it huge? Check. Does it have some useful function? Check. Will it help me get overpowered? Check, check, aand check! This thing is awesome and I love it

Strike Command and ECM emitters sound like they're not that great unless you're running mods that give you freedom to specialize with the applicable weapons, like tactical ship sections or extra ship components.

that target acquisition array would be really powerful used in tandem with a corvette based tackle fleet that could go engage the enemy so your larger ships could maintain their distance and thus saftley engage the enemy without them being able to fire back because they dont have the range and the corvette tackle fleet keeps them from getting closer

Honestly, I would have tried making the Juggernaught a solo entity, that would benefit from being alone, while also from being surrounded by enemies. Give it some selfrepairs every time it kills something, and some levelling structure, much like Titans in Sins of a Solar Empire. With levels giving more abilities, probably more weapon slots instead of ultimate abilities or so. Or the ability to equip greater weapon sizes.

Romulus Not entirely true, my war with the Index has only just came to an end, and I needed everything I had PLUS at least 2 to crack them open due to the disparate tech advantage the AI had simply for being a robotic empire. Humanity has endured, and while i’m still working on tech to push ahead, I realistically only have 1 to 2 empires who are even barely keeping ahead of me. And even then, i’m really ruining their chances, as I catch up and finally have a competitive world count...plus a ring world. Which was SUUPER nice. I really need more mineral/production worlds.

If anyone is up in the air about constructing this beautiful thing. It can upgrade itself, switching the fleet buff on the fly. But that's really a minor thing compared to its BFS factor.

Well I didn't initially realise the benefit of the FTL cool down reductions as the juggernaut is slow sub-light so it seemed stupid to travel with it, but that explains why ships set to follow are left behind it, when they are faster. It presumably has this ability itself without the aura. The jump drive penalty reduction is really useful, I have noticed before some fleets were less badly affected by jump penalties, but the game hides why (apart from psi-drives).

They need to add more capital ships or ships in general. They can add super battleships, interdictor ships, raid ships(to steal damaged ships), fighters(with skin packs), salvage ships (ships that go into the system after a battle and give you Materials) and stealth recon ships.

@@TOONYBOY since it was released i can tell you it has a very strong firepower, you can build ship, but you cant build titan/colossus class ship it is like the queen on chessboard and it take at least 10 years to build one like megastructure so try to avoid to send it first in the battle

I had a game once I had several citadel stations with full shipyards some where captured from other empires I conquered but if I wanted to build a full fleet it only took about 5 or 6 months in game to build a full fledged fleet, that same game I was fighting a 6 front war against the rather stupid ai and was actually wining against a large federation. Losses where irrelevant as I could replace any losses in short time, also my empire had a vast gateway network which also freed up allot of resources that would be used in preventing space piracy. Something the ai doesn't do and uses allot of their fleet power battling piracy.

Need some sort of inter-system artillery piece, that can fire one system (increased by research) that causes deviation to world's, and can target anything larger than a titan It would be cool if it was built similar to habitats aswell.

I use the Juggernaut from time to time to protect the L-Cluster, just as an adition to 1 fleet and citadel, just because it is a strong strategic point from where you can distribute other fleets quickly and if I have my Mega Shipyard close to an L-Gate, but that is the only idea I ever had for this ship.

The megashipyard could be a really interesting way of changing up how militaries are structured throughout the course of the game - if you can shit out a megafleet in under a year, why not build a fleet wayyy above your fleet capacity, go into deficit for a war, then as soon as the war is over, decomission most of your fleet? Basically this means that 1000 years later, militaries have come full circle; from CKII raising levies and dismissing at the end of a war, EU4/Victoria 2 having standing armies, HOI4 semi-permanent volunteer/conscripted armies, stellaris permanent fleets and then later on fleet levies late game that are decomissioned at the end of a war.

I think the reason for the Juggernaut existing is that you can stay on the offense longer. You won't need to retreat for reinforcements or rely on the ships making it through multiple star systems without being interrupted, since you can just build more on the spot.

These are very useful for countering attrition on distant battlefields (especially during the endgame crisis, buying time for the other surviving members’ fleets to come and give the unbidden a good spanking). It’d be so anticlimactic if they spawned near all my fleets

Personally the Juggernaut plays to my favorite style of warfare prolonged front-line combat. Really I always put regenerative hulls on my ships so that they can keep going as I push into my enemies territory. Now with the Juggernaut I can build ships on the front. Also finally allows to make fully nomadic nomads once Federations come out.
