Looking at this during the latter half of 2019, I find it incredibly endearing that lathrix can't remember the scourges name. I have only seen 1, maybe 2 playthroughs where he hasn't gotten the scourge as the end game crisis. He even got the scourge when he was playing as the scourge.

You know, I was just thinking. Since the Cabbages in the Mirror world were wiped out, how awesome would it be to go all "Invaders from the 5th Dimension" on them and become the End Game crisis for their universe? You wouldn't even need to control your ships, just provide fleets for a glorious Cabbage rebirth?

Fair warning though: while I did update these mod lists for the current DLCs and even the outdated ones on them are highly likely to work, I haven't updated the lists in the last 1-2 months and thus I recommend double checking any mod shown as outdated.

I would love to see some tall playthrough were you focus your military almost entirely on starbases. Essentially making the borders of your civilizations impenetrable walls that no other civs can breach.

Lath a suggestion: make a fleet full of carriers use a mod if you like, it looks amazing

Running energy debt doesn't hurt until your first war comes. And even then, even early, -100/200 energy can be countered by selling to the market to stay above zero for a few months.

You should do a play through where instead of trying to defeat the crisis you should try to contain it to one system for as long as possible until it overwhelms you and is unstoppable

@Lathland i found a nice trick with the synthetic Evolution, once you get the flesh is weak, wait until you get a a few Psychic pops in your empire, assimilate them so you get the Cybernetic Psionic version, then change all species that you can to residence part from them, then slowly replace your leaders with cyber/psi leaders, now the best part, If you upgrade to Synthic evo, just before you research ends, you want to create a colony ship of every species you have with the cyber/psi trait, you want the research to end why they are still being built as the evo event will remove all cybernetics from your empire pops. Just wait to your colony ships built, take a new planet etc with them and you can put the cybernetic trait back :D also you then can spawn new leaders that are Synth and psi, but dont ask me how i ended up with 562 Robotic population that are Psionic too, i just found one in my empire and was like, apply template lol :D

Awesome playthrough! You should try fanatical purifiers next, they have pretty strong military bonuses. And since you like playing wide, you should try tiny outliner mod - it makes managing multiple planets and fleets much easier.

Mod recommendations: Gigastructural Engineering Real Space Real Space - New Frontiers Planetary Diversity Guilli's Planet Modifiers Guilli's Ship Components More Events Mod Dynamic Political Events Extragalactic Clusters Just More Traits More AI Personalities More Star Classes Hypothetical Star Classes Biology Re-Expanded Psionic Re-Expanded Some of these may conflict without compatibility patches. All this works for me, but I do have quite a few compatibility patches loaded myself, but it shouldn't be too hard to find them. At the very least, try Planetary Diversity and Guilli's Planet Modifiers. Gigastructural, Real Space, and Real Space New Frontiers should be very good, too. The rest isn't as vital, but are very fun and fresh if you don't usually play with them. More Events and Extragalactic Clusters are great for making it fresh.

Lath if you want a fun hive mind playthrough Play with the unoffical hive DLC: Forgotten Queens... it is amazing and makes hiveminds actully fun to play

Now, I'm not sure what kind of mods you're looking to play with, but my highest suggestions would be the following 3 (EDIT: wait, not 3... actually, you know what, I'm keeping it that way as a monument to shame): The Zenith of Fallen Empires 2.0 Ancient Cache of Technologies !Ancient Cache of Technologies: Override (requires the previous) Ancient Caches of Technologies: Sins of the Fallen Empires - BETA (requires the previous 2) They kinda come from the same family of mods and modify the game in some pretty major ways, although almost all of them come into play more towards the endgame. ZoFE adds quite a lot of things to do with fallen and awakened empires, including the ability to become an ascended empire yourself (basically awakened empire). ACOT introduces multiple new tiers of technology and various mechanics and events to go with them. ACOT Override buffs the fallen empires to use entirely tier 6 technologies and generally makes them a bit less of a joke, especially with all the techs ACOT gives you. It also buffs all the vanilla crises to use unique and more powerful components, also making them more of a challenge (taking account the new techs) ACOT Sins of the Fallen is the most interesting IMO; it adds an extremely powerful pseudo-crisis (not a true crisis because you actually choose to trigger it through events, and it can happen alongside vanilla crises) that has a whole heap of techs and events to go with it. All of these are quite compatible with Glavius AI, as it doesn't seem to have any problems using the new mechanics (and unleashing the new crisis before you're ready lol, so keep an eye on them).

an automatic pop resettlement mod. if you are going to play big high pop empires like this one it is an invaluable quality of life necessity. there are several options to it but basically unemployed workers are automatically resettled to planets where there are jobs.

I need a bit help with Stellaris. He set the mid-game crisis 50 years earlier and stuff. How in the world is he able to get 1k+ research and a stable economy and a massive fleet in the first 30-40 years. I don't understand how he does it.

Before watching a few minutes in and I can already see him being surprised on how nerfed gestalt consciousnesses are.

I had always thought that faith in science was a dagger until i realized that it was a guy with a jetpack.

This was super entertaining to watch! I has idea for next run! Do another modded run, but with the patented, lavished, and (probably constantly asked for) Gigastructural engineering mod! It lets you do *so* many super cool things! Like make black holes! Or neutron stars! Or hyperloops! and more! Play an empire focused on making these things, iunno a corp maybe? needs aaalll the alloys.

Can you do a devouring swarm with the human portrait and starting from earth? (Roleplaying as some sort of really bad human spin-off race that ate humanity and now sets out to eat the rest of the galaxy too)

if hive worlds can have unlimited number of housing and people, it can be used for and interesting one planet playthrough

You did kinda go for a generic playstyle that went Devouring Swarm like style, so I think that may have aided to the ease. Really hope you play a Gigastructures mod build; go for a Imperial Mechanist/Aristocratic Elite so you can get robotic nobles in top hats building a matrioshka brain to preserve their eternal MechaQueen!

They need to add the fleshy bio ships and buildings as option for player empieres. Cant play as zerg or bugs with metalic ships. also for machine empires we need zilon, borg and geth like ship designs and stations.

I recommend a run with focusing fully in science. For making it a bit more challenging you can try to never get over the addmin cap
